She's so dumb that she read a review saying she'll respond with hate and she did. I guess she cant comprehend what it means to take the bait. Also the whole scab on my neck thing: I've been feeling some weird clicking and numbness in my neck. I asked my girlfriend to touch that part of my neck to see if I can feel her touching me. No scabs were present or removed but it's super creepy that she remembers a detail about our visit that I forgot two days after our visit. She also commented on this review real quick. This place is so charming and old school diner/ice cream parlor vibe. I came Sunday afternoon. The line wasn't too bad. The service was excellent. The girls at the counter taking the orders were very patient and friendly. I ordered the Nutalal ice cream which is Nutella flavored ice cream. Although we waited about 10 mins for them to make the ice cream, it was well worth it. The ice cream was not overly sweet. It had a wonderful, subtle Nutella flavor. It was so smooth. I utterly enjoyed it and they give a huge scoop. My friend got the cookies and cream and loved it! They have some unique flavors like halva, which looked delicious and I can't wait to try next time. If you like chocolate, get the chocolate flavor. It has Oreos and brownie bites and looked delicious (I saw someone eating it). My friend got a chocolate shake. That I wasn't as impressed with. It tasted like artificial Hersey syrup which I do not like and it was extremely sweet. If you're in the area, stop by for ice cream. Well worth it!! They are a local, independent ice cream shop that uses liquid nitrogen to freeze the ice cream. Every flavor is made fresh to order, which means your order is going to take a little time to prepare. The first time I went here, I think the manager was training someone new and they were out of a few flavors. I wanted Cookie Dough, but went with the Nutella flavored ice cream, as the former was out of stock. Seasonal flavor was strawberry, which was made with local strawberries. (My mom went with this flavor.) Dad got the Bean Mi. They are generous with portions for a single scoop - I was glad I didn't order more as one is very filling. They come with temperature change spoons, which is kind of cute. All of us enjoyed our flavors and the texture was smooth and creamy. I did come back another time to see if I could get cookie dough and was finally able to try it. Unlike other places, they seem to use bits of baked cookie broken up into the ice cream and extra chocolate chips to serve as the cookie dough. The second time I went, they had more employees working that day and were able to get orders out quickly. If you sign up for texts or e-mails, you can get offers and discounts. I earned a 15% off code, which I used on the cookie dough when I came back. It was definitely worth returning. Parking options are the flat lots or the structures for the mall. Boyfriend orders his 9oz and got charged $7.25. I ordered my 9oz and got charged $8.35. I ordered two different scoops. We have to wait at least 10 minutes, because, unbeknownst to me, they actually "make" the ice cream right there. Mine comes back and it's two of the same scoop of one flavour. I asked why I was charged more for the same thing as what my boyfriend got. The employee came back to our table about 3 times to give a very long explanation. Something about my ice cream was more complex and therefore cost 50 cents more? Nothing says that on the menu. I was charged a "dine in" tax and he wasn't. But there was nothing dine in about this place...I got major like...massive Cheesecake Factory menu vibes here. The more confusing a place is, the less likely they are to be successful. I go to Atomic Creamery because it had been a favorite of mine. I had two ice creams on Saturday a little after 12. I was disappointed because the milkshakes were sold out, the floats- sold out, chocolate atom- sold out, Boozah which was Saturday's flavor- sold out. Actually, I'd say that the half the board had been sold out. They had some Elemint. I remember every time that I've ordered, it had 3 kinds of chocolate. There wasn't though. I even asked the employee if they had the ingredients for that ice cream, and she said Yes. The coworker confirmed it too. There were only chocolate chips in there. I am not sure why it is advertised that there are 3 kinds of chocolate, when there's only 1 ?? The base for the ice cream is good like usual. What is lacking is the listed ingredients. The Elemint isn't how I remembered it. There was the AB square. That was great, but I left with some disappointment about the Boozah and other flavors that I wanted. Ice cream was amazing. There is a variety of flavors to choose from. I got the biscuit one which tastes like those cookies you get on the airplane flights. My favorite. Their strawberry flavor was very fresh and didn't taste artificially flavored. The most unique strawberry flavor I've tried out of anywhere. I was surprised because it wasn't as sweet as others but it was still the best. Definitely coming back to try their other flavors. I wanted to get a shake, but they were short staff. She was preoccupied and immediately said "We are not ready, we need a few minutes." I thought they had just opened, but it was 1:20 on a Saturday 6/10/23, and online hours showed it had opened earlier, late morning. We never received service, not even a peep from the woman, after 10 minutes. My husband nudged me to leave but I remember how delicious the ice cream was at a special event in Irvine. It was memorable. I approached the woman to ask if the place was open or not. Her facial expression was one of being interrupted and too busy. There's a sign on the window "Veteran Owned". This place was great!! I was craving ice cream so a friend and I stopped by and were immediately welcomed by a nice worker. Since it was our first time there, we took a moment to look over the menu and the worker even gave us recommendations. On top of her being helpful, she also offered us a discount because we are college students which we greatly appreciated! I like that they offered dairy-free options, and I usually stick to those but the AB2 birthday cake flavor stood out and I decided I had to try it-- it was AMAZING! Yes yes yes! This ice cream shop has became one of my favorite for many reasons. It's very clean and great place to take some ice cream pictures. The service has been above and beyond with my four visits so far. The owners are veterans and offers discounts for the military. Their ice cream is fresh and very tasty. All orders made to order with nitrogen. They are very generous with samples, which is amazing! Ice cream is also offered for your pup-- super dog friendly. I didn't get the names of the people who had helped me but every single one of them were very pleasant. I only got the name of Jaslyn, she is a very sweet girl. I really appreciate the fact that she remembers me. For ice cream flavors, my favorite is the birthday cake ice cream with extra sprinkles. From samples, I realized their apple pie flavor is uniquely tasty. I plan to come back for their pints when I'm not visiting before dinner. I had a really nice conversation with the owners and they were wonderful. Explaining their shops history a little and really making it clear both how serious they take ice cream, and love what they do. My family and I had a total of five flavors between having them at my son's school, and having some pints delivered to our home. We had their, Closed On Sunday, Cookies & Cream, Halvah, Gramhattan Project & Buckeye. All were crazy delicious! Toons of rich flavor in every bite. After an early lunch at a nearby eatery, I stopped here for some ice cream around noon on a weekday. It's located across the street from a Fashion Island parking structure and between Whole Foods and R&D Kitchen. They appeared to be closed at first (the open sign was not lit) but the door was open and the owner let me know to come on in, they were just getting things set up. Chairs were on tables, lights above the counter were not on and the gentlemen behind the counter let me know that it would take a moment to get the liquid nitrogen apparatus turned on. He was very nice and we conversed for awhile; he told me that their hours coincide with the mall but they rarely get customers before noon so were just getting things powered on. I was their first customer of the day. Atomic Creamery is a liquid nitrogen ice cream place so everything is made to order. I chose one of their offered flavors called "Bean Mi", a Vietnamese coffee ice cream (that was my understanding but the owner has clarified in the below comments). He asked if I liked strong coffee to which I answered affirmatively so he poured a little extra cold brew into the mix. I paid for one scoop in a cup with caramel drizzle on top. It took 18 minutes after ordering (yes, I timed it) for my ice cream to be ready. I desired to share the interesting interior but the owner didn't like that you could see the gentleman behind the counter in my photo and requested I remove it, which I did. I didn't want to stay inside as there was no place to sit aside from the counter and the owner was loudly talking to a salesman which made the atmosphere less than inviting. I ate it as I walked through the mall to where I was parked on the other side of Fashion Island. The single scoop was huge! It also had a very strong flavor which I appreciated as well as the dense yet creamy texture. But as I was almost finished I realized they didn't put the caramel on it despite my paying for it. It didn't feel worth it to walk all the way back. According to the owner's response to my review, everything I just wrote above is a lie. So just ignore this review. My husband and I absolutely loved Atomic Creamery! We're from out of town and stayed in Fashion Island but wish there was a location where we live. The concept was so neat and I particularly appreciated that they had the ability to do Dairy Free ice cream (particularly chocolate!). When we're back in town we'll for sure be back. They took great care with allergies, wore gloves, and I could see them bringing equipment back for cleaning in between orders. It does take a bit of time but everything is custom made for each order. There are good reasons to support Atomic Creamery. It is family and veteran-owned, and there's no doubt that the proprietors are hard working. But sadly, the experience does not live up to the promise of this well intentioned, but poorly executed concept. On the day we visited, there were clearly problems with getting orders out the door within a reasonable amount of time. (We waited over 20 minutes and the order was still wrong). There appeared to be only one other party in front of us when we ordered, and yet, despite all the furious work being done behind the counter, our order didn't materialize. The vibe behind the counter seemed overwhelmingly disorganized, and very, very TENSE. As we looked on, trying to determine what the problem was (this is ice cream after all) we were shocked and yes, dismayed, to see one of the owners (who was behind the counter apparently trying to make the ice cream) raise her voice and exchange harsh words and complete exasperation with her husband, her co-owner, in front of everyone present. I get that sometimes, people have a bad day. And running any kind of service business is challenging. So, maybe they were having a really bad day. But at minimum, having respect not only for: 1) your customers who don't want to witness tension and harsh words amongst staff and ownership, but 2) for the other people working with and for you, is essential if you want customers to ever consider returning and giving you the benefit of the doubt when orders take far too long to come out (20+ minutes for ice cream is unacceptable when there was no line to order) or are not delivered properly. There are quite a lot of reviews here mentioning unpleasant interactions with ownership, as well as accompanying harsh responses from the owners. I can't say I'm surprised after our experience. I would hope ownership would consider whether they might want to re-evaluate their business model, or at the very least, how they deal with customers and feedback. Again, I have no doubt these folks work hard, and seriously, their veteran status deserves respect, but I can't say I'd ever return given what we experienced. Ice Cream is the 'happy food'. To see people be rude and insulting to their own family members when difficulties arise is really a disappointment. There has to be a better way. I will say, however, that it appears the couples' daughter works at the shop. She greeted us so warmly, and with enthusiasm, and was trying so hard to be helpful. We were totally delighted by her. It was simply a shame that the rest of our experience didn't match the nice welcome we initially received. Also, to the owner who responds to customer feedback: Please don't DM me or try to flame me here. I honestly hope that you'll read this and consider how service can be improved so your biz can continue to thrive and grow. It was a Friday evening around 6:45pm and no one was in the store. We should have respected our intuition and turned around and walked out. I guess we're not that smart. There were three of us. Ordering was difficult, the menu didn't flow. It felt like I was back in school. All the shakes were sold out, and the dark chocolate was sold out (keep in mind it's not even 7pm). Poor mgt. When we waited for our ice cream (which took forever) some girls came in, and we overheard the guy making the ice cream say "we can't handle all these people", (there were only 4 girls). Two of us finally received our order, then the 4 girls received their order. After we were done, the last of our order finally came for the 3rd person in our party, (by this time the 4 girls were done and left). To say it was a "sh..t show" is being generous. Honestly not really worth it. There's nothing about the menu or the ice cream that really makes it stand out or distinguishes it from other ice cream places in the area. I got the lemon and was a little thrown off by how milky and sweet it was, which didn't make it as refreshing as I was hoping. There are so many other nitrogen ice cream places if that's what you're looking for, like cauldron, that have more unique flavors and are way cheaper. I really hate to tear down a business as I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, but the treatment we've received from this business has scam written all over it. I'm sad to say we fell for it. I originally found this place on gigster when looking for places to hold our 80+ guest baby shower. We chatted with the owner, Kari and determined that their location at Fashion Island was a great fit for our special event. Initially she was responsive, suggested ideas and honestly really helpful. It seemed great. We then reached the point where we needed to pay for our event in full, just under $2,000, which seemed reasonable for all that we thought we'd be getting. We met with the owners in person about 2-3 weeks before our event to discuss details and ask questions. Kari let us know she'd be emailing us documents to make our final selections in preparation for the big day. Well, this is when things started to take a turn. After that meeting we didn't hear from Kari. We reached out asking to solidify our ice cream choices and party details since it was days away. We were met with the excuse that her dog had passed and she had been a little overwhelmed and would get it to us in a couple days. We were kind and supportive and trusted that to be the case. After quite a few days we reached out again because we were less than a week away from the big event. No response. We continued to reach out daily by call, text and email until we finally received an email 1.5 days before our event saying that they needed to cancel our event! Being 8 months pregnant with people already coming in from out of town, etc, you can imagine the stress this put on me. Kari assured us that it was an issue that was out of their control, that there was no way to utilize the space at all and that they'd be refunding us. I had to take a whole day off work to scramble and find a new last minute venue, last minute decor, desserts, food and all the other things that our package with Atomic was going to be providing. It was truly more stress than any 8 month pregnant woman should have to handle. We pulled it off, but the stress and nightmare of ever doing business with Atomic is still persisting to this day. For weeks my husband was trying to get details about the refund. At first it was going to be back to our card, then it was going to be a cashiers check. Then atomic stopped responding all together. At this point my husband filed a fraud claim with our credit card in the hopes of getting a resolution. Well, we now have received word from our credit card that Atomic is trying to fight the claim!!! What kind of people do this? I'm now over 9 months pregnant, the baby could be here and day, and the last thing we need is to be trying to get back a large sum of money that we really could use for this new chapter of life we are in the thick of. PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS. DO NOT RENT THEIR SPACES OR THEIR AIR STREAM. DO NOT SEEK THEIR EVENT PLANNING SERVICES. They sadly put on a show to make us believe they were a wholesome family business that we were happy to support and work with. But in the end that was just to get our money and run. You will see the other most recent reviews are having a similar experience. I honestly believe they were going out of business already and decided they have nothing more to lose. This review is long overdue, but Atomic has some of the creamiest ice cream I've had. I got to try a few flavors, and "Closed on Sunday" was my absolute favorite. It's a creamy lemon flavor that is super refreshing on a hot day. I also enjoyed the Grahamhattan Project (tasted like cookie butter). I love that Atomic has interesting flavors that you can't find anywhere else. Not to mention the unique toppings. And they have cool promotions like blend up your Halloween candy into ice cream around Halloween time. How fun is that?! Color changing spoons are a fun added touch too.
