What a surprise - we went here for a good easy low key meal to change things up from our normal routine and to celebrate our anniversary. We had a 3 item charcuterie plate which was quite tasty. But when we received our mains we were blown away. The bone in rib eye is by far the best around, and one of the few places that makes a steak better than we can at home. The chicken under a brick was juicy and flavorful and all the accoutrements were just as tasty. We had a side of polenta that was melt in your mouth yummy. Even our sons pasta bowl was high end. Not like most kids dinner items. But the drinks were the stars. I ordered a (I unfortunately forget the name) Hendricks Gin with St Germain Elderflower with a watermelon ice cube. So so so good and the flavor changed with each sip as the cube melted. After a weekend dealing with bad service it was a welcome relief for the wonderful staff here - everyone was knowledgeable and helpful and friendly. Wow this place has an amazing bar full of local brews on tap along with great options for the person that prefers a cocktail. This place is fun to watch a game at during the seasons but if you are coming for dinner make sure you make a reservation if its a weekend to ensure you'll have a table because this place can get very busy! When I came here we had a reservation and still waited 30 minutes so we decided to go to the bar and grab a drink, which can be a little difficult at times but manageable. Once we were seated the service was very quick and the waitress was able to answer all of our questions about the menu. I decided to go with the slow cooked pig and knowing this was a small plate restaurant I was surprised by the amount of food I still got! The meat was tender and moist, it couldn't have been cooked any better than it was, so please if you are as much of a fan of pork as I am, please by all means try this dish and I'm sure you'll be satisfied! I was in Red Bank for several days with a group of friends on a girls' concert trip. We were perusing Yelp for a place to eat our first night and came across B2. We liked the menu, so we headed over for dinner. After a false start when the cab driver got us a bit lost (it's a new place and nobody knew where exactly it was at first) we were blown away by the food here!! We decided to get a bunch of the small plates to share, and were especially impressed by the meat and cheese boards. The chicken liver paté, which I usually don't care for, was particularly delicious. We spent a lovely couple of hours eating and talking, and bantering with the great staff. The atmosphere is trendy, but warm and inviting. We had so much fun our first night, we decided that we didn't need to try a different place for our second night, and ended up right back at B2! I had the burger this time, and it was flavourful and delicious. I don't know that I'll ever end up back in Red Bank, but if I ever do, I know where I'll be eating! read more

Was in town for a concert and staying nearby so we were looking for a place to grab a quick bite. I saw the high reviews on yelp so thought we'd check it out. It's located outside the main center area of Red Bank but seems like a great spot and should do well based on the burger and mussels we ordered. They were both delicious and the burger was a perfect medium rare. Great bar area too and they have a nice beer selection. The food was better than the calamari we got from the ale house in Red Bank after the concert and the staff at b2 was much friendlier. We will definitely return if we come by Red Bank again and hope the restaurant does well. read more

The restaurant is beautifully designed and it's such a breathe of fresh air to see this part of Red Bank getting a new look with its redevelopment going on. The menu is very different. The food was definitely good just not sure it was worth the money we spent. If you like gamey food then you'll probably like it but not much on the menu for variety and definitely does not cater to the vegetarian/vegan peeps out there. read more

Don't be discouraged because it's on the west side of town! Wow, what an awesome place. I can honestly say, this was the best casual dining experience I've had. Our waiter, Mikey, was exceptional with his overall service and recommendations. The ambiance is super cool, very rustic eclectic. Small menu but lots of choices. Their cocktails were ridiculously good and we were told that the bartenders were trained by a mixing expert so that every guest receives the perfect cocktail. Definitely try the cheese plates, there are so many delicious options! The Brie was so rich and creamy. I ordered the sweet pea pie which was so different and had a ton of flavor. My fiancé ordered the burger, which came without cheese on purpose, and didn't need anything on it! It was the most perfectly seasoned and delicious burger. The olive oil cake was to die for. What a find. Fun space, amazing beer list, and the food is fantastic. The menu is constantly being updated, the bread and house made pickled veg are to die for, elegant and cool plating, delightful staff. Dined here for the first time tonight after hearing good things from friends, and this place is impressive for a few reasons: 1. Their charcuterie menu includes blood sausage and foie gras, and they do both VERY well. 2. The cheeses on the charcuterie menu come from another Red Bank favorite, The Cheese Cave. 3. They have all the buzzy energy you'll find at a trendy new place, with none of the pretension. The decor is on point for a gastropub vibe, and they have the sturdiness and confidence of a place that's been open much longer than they have. 4. The service strikes the perfect balance of friendliness and efficiency; we never felt like we were left waiting for anything and we never felt rushed. Ania was our server and she had very enthusiastic things to say about her menu favorites, and we were wise to take her advice. 5. Arctic Char is something I've always felt meh about but it turns out I've only ever had it overcooked; they serve theirs barely seared and it's perfect. The roasted pig was also great. 6. French press coffee service! The pots de creme was very good and there are other interesting options on the dessert menu to try next time. I think we had an off night but would be willing to try this place again.... We had a reservation for 4 but ended up only being 2 and that seemed to throw off the hostess a bit. It was not a big deal as we waited at the bar and had some really good appetizers and drinks and the bartender (I think his name was Paul) was excellent! We had to follow up quite a bit to finally get seated, but eventually did. The issues for us were two fold. Once we were at our table, my wife ordered a drink and when it was served to us we were told that they accidentally put cranberry juice in the drink and asked my wife if that was "OK"? My wife accepted the drink and said it was OK, although it wasn't what she ordered. Why serve a drink if that is not what the person ordered, especially when you are aware of the error? We ordered the rib eye steak and the food took about an hour to come out and when it did the food was ice cold. I assume there was a mix up in the kitchen (we were told at one point that there was a large party ahead of us in the queue...which was fine). We did ask to have the food reheated and a few minutes later it came back a bit warmer although still not hot. We were very hungry, so we ate it, although it wasn't hot. Overall the food tasted delicious, albeit only luke warm. We did spend $150 between our drinks and appetizers at the bar to the entree and dessert that we had. We had a fantastic dining experience Friday night at B2 Bar and Bistro in Red Bank. The food and service was superb. A warning though... when its busy, this is a very loud place. The bar area is too loud. The dining area is a little more quiet. That all said, from an atmosphere and visual perspective... I love this place! The décor, the ambiance, the general mood of the place screams "have fun and enjoy yourself". We were greeted by a lovely young lady who smiled and had great eye contact. -I was actually kind of surprised, to see such a young person with such poise at the hostess station. Most restaurants don't understand that, THAT is the first impression patrons get when the are greeted by the host/hostess, Often they'll throw some young kid behind the podium just to "seat people" with no personality and thinks smiling is uncool. She was great. We were sat at one of the many deuces (table for 2) along the wall, where there is a long bench on one side, and a chair on the other. ...a bit too close to the patrons on both sides for an intimate dinner, but with the noise level, hearing the conversation of your neighbor could only be heard if you were intentionally eves dropping. This is a great place for groups! Our waitress, Gabriela was very pleasant, helpful and attentive. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the mixed drinks were too light on the liquor, and I'm not one for looking for a strong drink. But, at $11 bucks a pop for a Kettle One and tonic, I expect to taste the vodka! And what... no Grey Goose? They don't carry it. Wifey had a glass of Pinot (La Carraia Classico) @ $7 per 6oz +/- glass. She liked the wine. We started with the PEI Mussels ($12), Warm Potato Salad ($12) and Beet Salad ($12). There was enough for 2 to share. The mussels were fantastic! They were in some sort of a white bacon, beer and mushroom sauce that was out of this world. I needed every piece of bread plus a spoon to get it all. It was THAT good! The warm potato salad wasn't what I was expecting... but not bad. They were little cubed potatoes, kind of like home fries, but with a spicy and (too) SALTY sauce on top. The beet salad was fresh and tasty. I'm now a fan of beets. We then had the Roasted Chicken ($23). Two ample pieces for sharing of perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken in a white bean, escarole and chasseur sauce. It was moist, flavorful with a delicately crispy skin. 'Loved it! The side of Roasted Vegetables ($5) were non-descript. They were "roasted vegetables". We finished with their "Chocolate Pot De Crème" ($8). A deep, rich, delectable chocolate with toasted pecans on top, served on a small crock. I ordered a cappuccino ($4) with a (again, too small for the price) side of "43" ($10). All, in all, it was a great dining experience. But what they charge for liquor for what they serve is a star loser. Will we be back? Yes. Would I recommend it? Went here for dinner tonight on my daughters suggestion. I totally see why. It's a hip, fun, place. Lots of 20-40 year olds at the bar. My friend and I are older and wanted to be able to talk so we went in the quieter dining area. The host and server were both great. Food was terrific as well. We both got the dry aged beef burger. Cooked perfectly, very tasty! I ate it all which is unusual for me. I couldn't finish the fries but let me tell you, I tried! We got coffee and split a lemon cheese cake dessert. Fabulous! They give you a whole French press of coffee and have raw sugar in cubes! I look forward to going back. Would love to bring my significant other. We had a filling lunch at B2 Bistro + Bar, which is supplied by local farmers and fishermen, according to the menu, before seeing a play at Two River Theater a couple of Sundays ago. I started with a trio of Elder Point Oysters on the half shell ($2.75 each), a Caesar-style Warm Cabbage Salad topped with an unsalted anchovy ($12), and a side of Glazed Root Vegetables ($7). My wife had a thick Dry Aged Burger with a cone of french fries and a small salad ($19, including $3 for blue cheese). I had made a reservation for noon, when the restaurant opens on Sunday, but that wasn't necessary. Service was good and all of the food we tried was tasty; my one complaint is that the glazed vegetables were too sweet. The butter service with the bread was unusual, a tray with microgreens and thinly sliced radish. But the server gladly brought me a little extra virgin olive oil so I could dip my bread into it. read more

Found this place on yelp went to try it out with some co workers was very pleased. The food was amazing I had the 8oz filet and risotto and a glass of rose. The filet was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Another person ordered the mushroom pizza and that was so good covered in mushrooms and well seasoned as well. I ordered the " award winning burger" Medium and it came out well done. I have never sent anything back in my life and when it came back the second time it was well done yet again. It was very awkward and I was confused as to how someone can overcook a burger, usually I have issues with meat being undercooked as medium can sometimes be a hit or miss. It is very unfortunate and i think i just picked the wrong dish, or it was a bad night for burger cooking, as my friends loved their foood (trout and gnocci) very much. Additionally, when we reviewed the bill, it was brought to my attention that i was charged 3 dollars for the cheese on my burger.. dude.. the waitress did not say anything about an upcharge when she listed all of the options for cheeses i could have, i thought it came with it. Just did not leave a good impression and I probably wont be back unless someone else is paying for it. Between the burger coming out overcooked twice and the 3 dollar surprise at the end it was just a very awkward for me.
