I ate here today with my husband. The patio area and restaurant were very clean and organized. As we entered the front door we were greeted warmly by the proprietor. I asked about some of the menu items and decided to go with the chicken shawarma salad. He asked if I wanted it spicy or regular. I'd never had spicy so went with that. The portion was huge and it was loaded with chicken. The spice was nice but not too super spicy. My husband ordered the gyros sandwich and he really enjoyed it. It was a really nice size too. Neither of us are super big eaters so next time we will probably share the salad. They only serve soft drinks but there's a wine tasting place next door so maybe you can grab a bottle there to enjoy with lunch. Only bummer is that I heard they had really good baklava but were sold out. I'll have to wait until next time to try it. read more

We stopped in about a week or so ago for some wraps. It was such good food. I had a falafel sandwich and my boyfriend had a chicken shawarma. I have to say I thought everything was delicious- my only critique being next time I'll get the sauce on the side as they put a TON on the sandwich which overpowered the protein a bit. The service, however, was fantastic. You really get a family feel in this place and everyone is smiling and taking care of you. The cashier, a woman with dark hair who I suspect was an owner, was overly accommodating and lead me through how to order. She was SO SWEET AND HELPFUL. By far the best falafel I've had in a long time. Maybe ever. I love a good falafel and this place makes a huge falafel pita with extra large falafel pieces. We also had the California pita I think it was. It's had chicken, gyro and fries with lots of delicious sauce. Both pitas are massive and so overloaded with sauce it's beyond delicious. They even have baked goods like brownies. AlThe people who work here are super friendly. Will most definitely be back for more of that delicious falafel. read more

As an Afghan, I'm very critical of places that serve Afghan food. It needs to be fresh with the perfect blend of spices that Afghan food is distinguished for, and a hint of the familiarity of "mom's home cooked food." Not only did this place hit that criteria, but the excellent customer service and hospitality reminded me of what Afghans are notorious for. Well done, Baba Kabob! I've only eaten here once and was not impressed. Tried both the lamb kabob and the chicken kabob along with hummus and pita bread. Both meats were over cooked and dry. The chicken was overly charred and not in a good way. I've heard so many good reviews from others about this place but my experience was not that. Sorry ya'll but it's a NO for me. read more

I have eaten here twice now and have had their spicy gyro pita sandwich, the chicken shwarma, beef kofta, and potato biryani. I love their gyro pita sandwich. The meat is so tender and flavorful. Come here about once a week for the chive bolani, and have always had my food ready for me without issues. I've tried the potato bolani and the falafel sandwich and enjoyed them both as well. I found that the chive bolani has much more flavor than the potato version, but that's my preference for chives I guess. They're both served with a yogurt sauce and vinegar(?) sauce that helps cut some of the oil in the bolani. I believe they have some items they advertise in-store that differ from their online menu, so I recommend coming here to order if you want to try something new. read more

The chive bolani is out of this world! I had never had one before and I'm a huge fan now. The lamb is tender and seasoned perfectly. The rice is wonderful - buttery and moist. Came here with my fiancé after searching on Yelp for a good place to eat in Poway. We ordered the Gyro Plate (spicy) and added a beef skewer for an additional $4.99. We left a tip but didn't pay much attention to the itemized total until we looked at the receipt and noticed we were charged for a side of beef for $7.99. My fiancé went back up to the owner who rang us up to let him know we actually asked for a beef skewer not a side of beef (thinking they were two different things) but the owner said it's the same thing. A bit confused because the menu stated you could add any skewer to an entree plate for $4.99, he said it happens all the time and that the menu can be a bit confusing but the skewer only applies to entrees that is a skewer plate. He said because we were new customers he would charge us $4.99 for the skewer instead of the $7.99. My fiancé and I felt awful because we wanted to support small businesses especially during these times but the manager insisted and was really nice about the mixup. The food was delicious! My wife and I stopped for lunch. She had the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich box. It included the sandwich fries, brownie, and drink. She thought it was one of the best Chicken Shawarma's she had because the chicken was hot and moist. The tzatziki was also very good.
