Massive sandwiches. Highly recommend the the porker. It was really good with cheese and ham, tasted like a grilled cheese with ham. However, I ordered the Babe (most popular). It was just okay. A half sandwich is plenty enough for one person. The cinnamon roll was excellent. Hubby ordered the Plain Jane and it's a little deceiving because it filled with so much, that it's a little overwhelming. Service was excellent and they offer drive thru which would be convenient. We wanted a rest from driving so we when in to eat. Worth the stop, but we ordered too much food and too much variety. Keep it simple and enjoy. read more

Great food, great service. In the midst of Covid, they are able to manage carry out, drive through, outside dining and even an inside table. Huge portions. We stopped by this bakery in August while traveling through Grants Pass and walked out because they weren't wearing masks. We stopped by again today, giving them a second chance. Two of the three people behind the counter were unmasked. It would be a simple thing to do to protect their customers. The sign on the door tells customers to wear masks, but apparently they don't think it applies to the workers who are handling the food they intend to sell. We walked out again. read more

Sandwiches to die for!! And luscious desserts with which to top them off! I couldn't decide what to get so I got 6 sandwiches and practically all of their desserts. They bake their own bread so get some of that as well. Their bread loaves are 6" round, make for their sandwiches (yes, their whole sandwiches are 6" round! A steal for $12, who would pay $8 for 1/2? Why even offer? Our favorite was the porker, a warm sandwich with the most delightful smoked ham, bacon, yummy sauce, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, chopped banana pepper relish...I don't know what all but I'm gonna drive another hour and a quarter to get another this weekend, along with a cro-nut, a yeasty-doughy, croissanty-crispy/flaky concoction with dipped in cocoa-y chocolate frosting. Also recommended highly: the Stud Muffin Sandwich! 9-Grain bread, roast beef, turkey, provolone, cheddar, red onions, mushrooms, pepperoncinis, bell peppers, Thousand Island dressing. Toasted! Another great establishment recommended to us when my boyfriend and I were in Grant's Pass a couple of weeks ago. I grabbed a loaf of their sourdough and we grabbed breakfast (a danish for me and a savory croissant for my boyfriend). The spicy croissant my boyfriend had looked like a ninja star. He said it was amazing and nothing like he'd ever had before. My cream cheese cherry danish was average, not sure if they can more than that in general. The real star was the bread. I am a San Francisco sourdough snob. Don't at me. And their bread was awesome. I ate the entire round in not only one day, but one sitting (with WVC cheese and Pennington Farms jam). read more

I agree with the other reviews. Great sandwiches! I really love the Babes Bacon sandwich. The sandwiches are big and plentiful, really fresh. CONS- They tend to run out of things, I would think they would learn to make a little more. They were out of their famous rustic bread before 2pm. Another time they were out of chocolate chip cookies before 1pm. Make more Babes and if there is a lot by the end of the day, sell them half price the next day as "Yesterday's Cookies" They would sell! It's quite annoying when they are always out of cookies. It's a crime! Lol. Second, they are really slow and the drive thru especially. I think they should make the drive thru for call-ins only. This would help to really speed things up. Everything I've ever tried at Babes is truly fantastic!! The bread is so fresh and flavorful! It makes the perfect sandwich!! Also, the salads are super fresh and really good dressings as well. The cupcakes are out of this world! I just had a carrot cake sample and I kid you not, I cannot stop thinking about it!! The frosting is what did it!! Me and my husband were traveling through here and Decided to stop here for breakfast the customer service was 10/10 although the food not so much. We tried multiple things as we were going to be traveling a long time I would have to give the Asiago Bagel a 9/10 it was delicious and full of flavor, as the cheddar not to special probably a 6/10. The cinnamon roll with apples walnuts and raisins was probably a 2/10 and Would definitely not recommend it. I give the brownie a 5/10 including the cronut. But my all time favorite would be the chocolate chip cookie 9/10! read more

Good selection of hearty sandwiches (with their homemade bread of course), entree salads, homemade soup, quality soft drinks, smoothies, juice and tempting desserts. You can also order the sandwiches and salads in full or half size servings--nice touch. Many thoughtful personal details. Not sure why anyone would go to the plastic-menu commissary-served option the street! We will definitely remember this as a destination 'fueling' stop when we travel up and down I-5! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the birthday cake I ordered for my mom's birthday. There are not many bakeries in Grants Pass and I read a prior review that was really bad so my expectations were low. I've been into Babe's 3 times. Each time I went in, I swore I'd never go back, but I guess I'm an idiot. The first time for a sandwich and it wasn't bad, it was the amount of flies buzzing around the place. Even in the pastry showcase by the register. The second time for a couple of cinnamon rolls with icing. Their texture were like they were a day or two old, tasteless and dry. I seen some brownies in the display and thought, I should have bought them instead. My third and final time for those brownies, which are huge and $4.25 each. They were not chewy but hard and didn't have much chocolate flavor but had a very oily taste. They looked moist, but were not. Mostly they had no flavor. I bought two and my wife and I shared one, didn't finish it even half of our half, and threw the other one out. The brownies at Safeway or a box are 100 times better. I will not be going back, nor will I ever recommend this place. read more

I have never done a review, but the difference from the reviews and pictures was so stark I felt compelled to write one. Not impressed. Humid and musty smell throughout. I think it needs a deep cleaning. No music, which makes it a bit awkward in such a small establishment. The staff was haphazard, eating behind the counter and wearing sweatshirts, unkept appearance, crown royal T-shirt, etc. Looked very unprofessional. The baked goods tasted at least a day old, we bought 4-5 items and no one finished a single one... even the kids! Very dry, bland and unappetizing. read more

The HUMUS HIPSTER. I Usually get the tuna melt which is amazing but today I ordered a "Humus Hipster" it was a total letdown! The Humus was so thinly applied that I couldn't taste it and had to look in the sandwich to see if it contained any Humus, and the vegetables were applied so sparsely that only a few very thinly sliced tomatoes and cucumbers were present and not even sure if it contained any Avacado. A vegetarian sandwich without much vegetables. Again very disappointed. I still rate this restaurant with a 4 because this was really the only bad sandwich I ever received. read more

The best sandwich I have had in forever! The bread is fresh baked every morning. I had the hippie hummus. The bread was good enough all on it's own. The toppings were just extra bonus! This sandwich also did not fall apart like many deli sandwiches do. The service was fast and there were quite a few customers. They also have a drive thru window. My family and I eat here as often as possible. There sandwiches are absolutely amazing and the best that I have had anywhere. My children (6 and 8 now) have literally grown up on them and they are their go-to request for a treat, over anything, ice cream and froyo included. The Bell's Hot Babe is their favorite and we often share one full sandwich amongst the 3 or us. It can be hard for them to find a sandwich anywhere else acceptable after they have been spoiled with Babe's wonderful creations. I would recommend half sandwiches unless you plan on sharing or you want leftovers. The bowl of soup with bread and butter is a great choice. My son's favorite is the tortilla soup and that is his first request every Thursday when I pick him up from school. The bagels are also great and we like them toasted with cream cheese. The pastries and cinnamon rolls are also favorites; you probably also need a couple people to share the cinnamon roles with, as they are also quite large. The frosting is devine. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious and 'the destroyer' with a fried egg is our favorite. You choose your favorite type of bread or bagel for all their sandwiches from a large selection of freshly baked choices. I don't want this review to come off as bias, but this place is really that good. We bring all of our visiting family and friends here for breakfast or lunch and they have all raved about the food as well. The bakery case can be found almost empty some mornings if you arrive too late. Sitting for coffee in the morning I have (on many occasions) seen people from the local medical buildings come in a buy out entities shelfs of goodies for office meetings. I question the few negative reviews here as either fraudulent or nit picky. This is a very busy, popular place, and complaining about wait times when there may be 20 or more sandwiches ahead of you is ridiculous. The staff can be absolutely slammed for the entire day and I have always found them to be friendly and working as fast as humanly possible. We have visited several times a week, over many years, and have never seen flies or found there to be any strange odors - I hope the human beings making reviews such as this to find happiness in their lives from things other than making decieving Yelp reviews. read more

While traveling home, my car broke down and I was stuck in Grants Pass for a night. The guys at Kelly's Automotive suggested I come here for breakfast while I'm waiting for my car. They said it was worth it. Boy, were they right. The menu is not overwhelming and the hardest part was trying to decide what to get. I settled on coffee and the Gusher.
