    Babylon Gyros Delight

This was a really good restaurant, we will definitely be back ! Prices were typical for this kind of food and the portions were very generous. The food was also very fresh and I really appreciated the waitron's attention to detail about vegetarian/vegan dietary needs. The food came out very fast & we enjoyed the cooler of drinks to grab as opposed to refill service. The two employees were super friendly and gave good recommendations/explanations. We are suckers for a small, downtown restaurant so the vibes here were perfect to stop in and get a quick lunch.

Que Hall and Oats....How does it Feel to be Back? I haven't worked in Richmond since 2015 so it has been that long since I was in this delightful little place! We had a pretty sunny day and I felt confident in finding a parking spot in downtown Richmond! I scored a spot on the street right in front of the restaurant and I was excited to be there. It was 12:30 pm and I was expecting a crowd, back in the day there would have been a line and folks jockey for tables. But I walked right up to order and I didn't see a menu - so I just told the gentleman at the counter I wanted hummus and falafel and hoped for the best. I was not disappointed! I got a l lovely plate of smooth garlicy hummus, with pickles, tomatoes and Kalama olives as garnish. Three warm, crunchy on the outside light and flaky on the inside falafel, warm peta and my own little tub of their homemade tzatziki sauce. My service was fast and friendly. I am so happy they are still there serving up tasty treats, and I am thrilled To Be Back!

Delicious food and excellent service! The best falafel in Kentucky! The falafel is perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! Did I mention the falafel is served on a bed of tasty hummus, with delicious garnishes and warm pita bread! The gyro and fries both eaten with lots of their tasty tzatziki sauce are a must try as well! Order the gyro with feta cheese and extra tzatziki sauce and you won't regret it! Chicken and rice and chicken shawarma are also excellent choices! The Greek salad is delicious as well! Meals also include a can or bottled beverage and their are lots of great options to chose from!

A classic gyro from Babylon is one of my top favorites when wanting something hearty yet on a higher protein meal. The owner is always kind and patient while ordering and speedy with the turn around time for the order.

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. I ordered the lunch pick 3 special for $8.99 I had the Greek salad, rice and chicken shawarma. Everything was very delicious and very filling, I couldn't eat the pita bread the sandwich came on so I just added to my salad. Super tasty! Definitely worth coming here if you're in the area. Great Mediterranean food and the staff here was super friendly and helpful. I will return next time I'm in Richmond.

This is a total dive and typical of places I love: local, unique, quaint, tons of character, and good food served from friendly folks. It's not fancy at all (feels very "mom and pop") and has just a few tables, food served on paper products, but it seems authentically Greek but pretty basic: hummus, gyros, salad, shawarma, falafel, and baklava. The pita was very nice. The hummus was plentiful but very lemony served with pickles and olives....too one-note for a full plate. The falafel was good and baklava moist and tasty though not outstanding. Overall, the place gave me good vibes and was worth the $14. I'd definitely come back and bring my friends.

The food tasted incredibly fresh and homemade -- flavorful shawarma, creamy hummus, warm pita, and authentic Mediterranean flavors that don't feel watered down or commercialized. The owner was genuinely kind and welcoming, and you can tell he cares about the food and the people coming in. It's a small, cozy spot, but the flavor is huge. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and everything tastes made with care. If you love authentic Mediterranean food, this place is absolutely worth trying. Lexington has some great local restaurants, and Zaki definitely deserves more attention.  I had the chicken shawarma and it didn't disappoint! The hummus was so fresh. One must adjust expectations depending on the situation. I had the chicken souvlaki platter, which is essentially a kebab. It comes with a nice fresh Greek salad, rice, and tzatziki sauce. Not exactly juicy, not exactly dry, but not bad. My companion had the mousasaka, which is layered eggplant, potatoes, and meat sauce topped with Bechemel cream. Also comes with rice and the salad. We also had the fries, which are not the typical you see in Greek restaurants. Rather than the crispy crunchy fries with the golden outside, these almost seem air fried. But they were light and airy and we enjoyed them. This restaurant also serves gyro, falafel, spanakopita, hummus and pita, a Greek burger. The reason this place is called Greek-American is because they also serve cheeseburgers, fried chicken, fish, Reubens and BLTs, steaks, salmon, etc. I wish they would focus on just Greek food and make that better, but I understand that is probably tough in a place like Danville. They probably have to have other cuisine options to stay afloat. The service was very kind and attentive and the restaurant is super bright and clean. My friend said it was better than the last time she ate it. She also agrees that this is a, "good for what it is" selection.

My husband is obsessed with gyros and that's his favorite thing - there was a Shawarma plate that said it had steak, chicken and Gyro and what we thought that meant was that it was Shawarma and then there was a Gyro sandwich on the plate, but that wasn't the case. It was just the gyro meat. So that made my husband sad because he'd been looking to a Gyro all day. No fault to them, totally our misunderstanding. The food was delicious and the price was great. There are a couple of things I would like to see updated. When you get the Shawarma plate, everything comes on one plate and that means your salad is mixing with your hummus is mixing with your Shawarma. I would like to see the salad in a side bowl. The plate is so stuffed. It's hard to begin eating because everything is stuffed on there so tightly. I would like the salad in a separate bowl not just to avoid mixing but to allow me a little more room on my plate to begin eating. We will be back and I will probably request my salad in a side bowl in the future. The lentil soup is great and it comes complementary with the meal. I would also like to be able to buy a bigger bowl of that if I chose. I would also like the option of the fried bread pieces to sprinkle in my soup. I tried the cake, pistachio dessert, and that's the only thing I didn't care for too much. It was just very cakey and not my typical type of dessert. I would love to see them partner with Al Taj, and get some of the Dubai chocolate bars in for sale that would be awesome.

My husband ordered the Greek beef stew (Kokinisto) the beef was so tender you could break it apart with a plastic fork and swimming in a delicious red sauce. The fries were crispy, could maybe have used a little more seasoning. Non-doordash without extra meat, is 11 dollars. You can get a combo with a side and a drink for 15 dollars (again, non DoorDash). My colleague got a gyro bowl, which he enjoyed. They allow you to build your own bowl, choosing grain or green, up to two dips, a protein, toppings, and dressing. They also have entrees like pastitsio, meatballs, grilled branzino, chicken Santorini, grilled lamb chops. They offer pasta and several other types of sandwiches. I enjoyed this spot, though would prefer it without the DoorDash next time. They have three locations in Lexington.
