Bacchus is kind of hard to find. There's no big sign on the outside like Ted's Montana next door, and that's a shame because the food is fantastic and it was really empty of patrons when we were there. Maybe we just picked the right time to go. Oh my gosh, you NEED to order the curry fries. My MIL claims she doesn't even like curry and she was shoveling these in like there was no tomorrow. We asked for an additional side of the sauce for the rest of the fries we had on the table and sopped it all up too. Not spicy at all, just creamy and delicious. MIL and I split the Hippie burger with a substituted veggie patty and it was the perfect amount of food. The goat cheese and artichoke hearts combined perfectly in a burst of delicious flavors. The rest of the menu offered so many interesting choices it was really hard to decide what to order! Shepherds pie and chicken pot pie for the comfort food crowd. The grilled cheese, with four cheeses and tomatoes and spinach was hard to resist too. Would definitely go back to this place if we lived here. Don't pass it by! read more

This is a review for owners to consider firing Laurel. Laurel is awful. I'm not sure what's wrong with her attitude: - she wore a belly showing shirt that was distastefully unappealing - after 10 minutes, we were the only customers at the bar and she managed to totally insult us. We thought it was a sick sense of humor, then she doubled down on her insult before walking away. - she was actually laughing after insulting us... If it wasn't her intention, then she would have apologized. Just a horrible experience after a long drive. Tried to unwind but this lady ruined the mood... So we left. She is an unhelpful and a bad bartender. Considering that I curate travel guide books ... I'd say that I have a very fair opinion. But who knows, maybe people around here like the New York attitude. Bacchus pub is one of my favorite restaurants in Bozeman. Compared to other restaurants in Bozeman, the food is great and reasonably priced. I like the atmosphere and it is one of the few places with outdoor seating. It's funny to read some previous reviews about the service because there is some truth. Torrance is by far the best bartender there. Besides the manager, Travis, who is also awesome, Torrance has provided consistently good service every time I've gone there. He's extremely attentive to your needs and super friendly! On the other hand, what's funny about the previous reviews is I've noticed several of the female servers are not good. I'm a woman, so I can say this in all fairness. Either you are waiting 20 minutes to order a drink or they seem pissed off at you that you would like to put an order in. Biggest tip for best experience here is to get Torrance as your server/bartender. read more

Being from Omaha, I have a soft spot for old, pub-y places. This was a small place with amazing burgers. Their menu was surprisingly creative. Surprising because I expected regular ol' bar food but their flavors were surprising and delicious. Also, very filling! Their drinks didn't stand out too much for me, just because they have pretty much everything - I don't remember a signature drink that I tried or anything. I could likely build a restaurant around the Curry Fries appetizer. They are addictive and irresistible and a mound of food for $6. I was happy that they had several vegetarian offerings and would come back to try others. My portobello sandwich was a bit disappointing as it lacked any flavor. I'd have to double check the menu, but I think it there might have been an omission of a pesto sauce which may have made all the difference in the world. Probably the best Moscow Mule I've had in my life. No idea what type of ginger beer they use, but it's perfect balance to the vodka and lime. The bartenders are incredibly friendly, and drinks are nice and stiff. Great place to have a drink while waiting for a table at Ted's, or just a chill place to share a few with some friends. And bonus points for the super-cute mason jars used for water. read more

After two years, we had to go back to Bacchus Pub. They didn't fail me. I had the fish and chips again and it was very good like last time. And again, I forgot the name of the dark beer I had last time and tried another dark beer. It was very good and refreshing. The service was excellent. We sat in the dark corner of the pub but we were never forgotten. Our server was always there for us. The Pub has become our favorite pub in Bozeman. It was crowded but that didn't stop the great service. Worth coming back to for us. read more

I had a great time here - both for lunch and going out with friends at night! The staff is super friendly, but some of the cocktail waitresses are a little "confused." Large bar and enough seating around the restaurant. Lots of delicious food - most people seem to love the burgers, but I'm veggie so I ordered a sandwich with some soup. I forget what kind of soup it was, but that was my least favorite part of the meal. There's a nice little patio area as well and whenever I walked or drove by, it seemed like the place was rocking and everyone was having a good time. Bacchus was great! My dad suggested we stop by and he said he's been going there for years. It had a authentic old school irish pub feel to it which I absolutely love. I ordered the "Pub Club" which had a Strawberry Jalapeno jam on it that makes is making my mouth water as I write this. I will stop by Bacchus every time I come to Bozeman for the rest of my life. Eating the curry fries is what you should want to do with your life. If you ask really nicely, you might be able to get them in place of normal fries with your burger. I go with the Nevada City and have yet to be disappointed. Wednesday night karaoke is worth it for the old man alone. read more

Beware, most of these reviews are from the former Bacchus, that actually served decent food. I know we all had high expectations when it reopened. I was excited to see what the owners of Urban Kitchen would do to the place. Turns out, they just kind of xeroxed the menu from the old Bacchus, but made it BAD. I had the fish and chips, which was obviously the pre-breaded frozen fish they use everywhere for crappy fish tacos, and it was $16!! Service was marginal. Servers seemed miserable. They brought the wrong thing to one of my friends, and when we mentioned that it wasn't what he ordered, she kind of shrugged and asked him if he wanted it anyway. Weird. Not good. read more

Gosh, what a place. The evening was beautiful and the service was through the roof--through seven floors to the roof of the Baxter Hotel to be exact! Our server (a funny clean cut kid, either Brandon or Brendan I can't remember) was super helpful. Not only was his service and fun demeanor something truly special, he also pointed us to a lot of fun bars downtown. The Bacchus patio was just fantastic too! Good food. Good drinks. Amazing vibe. Next time I'm back this way I'm definitely coming back, and I hope Brendan or Brandon is still there to crack me up with a joke and serve me some Bacchus fries! read more

Was so excited to see the Bacchus back open and soooooo disappointed after I went. The atmosphere was still great - brightened up a little bit still a cozy pub feel. That's where the 2 stars come from. The menu was pretty limited compared to what it used to be. Being someone who prefers not to eat meat, the old Bacchus had multiple options for a meal for me. Here it was fish and chips or Mediterranean salad. My friend and I decided to split both of those for dinner. The fish and chips was SIXTEEN dollars for three glorified fish sticks that were extremely over done and a handful of fries tossed in dill. This was the worst fish and chips I've ever eaten. The salad ($10) was only a fraction bigger than most side salads. We were so disappointed and felt totally ripped off - oh and still hungry. We headed to Plonk afterwards for a cheese plate to make up for this awful dinner. IF we go back, it will be for drinks only. read more

The food is unremarkable and the waitstaff are hilariously incompetent. They ignore your empty beer glass and when they do bring you a new drink it might not actually be what you asked for. When it comes time to pay the bill they can't handle splitting tabs in a group as small as three. Last time I was here they charged my bill on my friends credit card and his on mine and since neither was split correctly the girl who was paying cash got charged the difference. Ugh. They have fun trivia on Mondays which is the only reason I keep going back. read more

We were excited to go back to the Bacchus Pub since their reopening. However, it was very disappointing. Firstly, our table was filthy. We had two waitresses throughout the experience which made things confusing of who to ask for what. We asked for utensils, napkins and ranch but no one came back. We ended up going to the bar to get these items and another drink. We were also encouraged to sign up for their membership to get deals on certain menu items. We did this and the waitress ensured us when we paid for the bill the discount would be taken off of our bill. Although, she seemed unsure of how this program actually worked and the discount never happened. The burgers were good. It is very disappointing for a restaurant that has the best location and atmosphere to be so Meh! read more

The service was incredibly slow. Even though the waitress apologized every time she came to the table, that doesn't quite make up for it. Especially given it was the beginning of the Saturday lunch crowd and wasn't too crowded when we arrived. The food was ultimately decent though. The fish and chips were nicely breaded with a fair amount of fish and included four decent sized pieces. We also had a spicy burger which was juicy and flavorful. Extremely comfortable rustic bar on Main St.. Bozeman.. Service was prompt and friendly. Plenty of draft beers to choose & a fully stocked long bar.. I order the Rubin with fries ... Simple put.. it was delicious !!! Closed face sandwich.. Hot and moist .. Fries were hand cut and hot on the plate .. Tried the falafel with french onion soup on the side for lunch. There were plenty of customers, but still had enough places to sit. I sat with a view towards a TV as I was there alone traveling for business. I liked the falafel a lot; it had tahini sauce on it. I grew up eating falafel, but the problem with a lot of places today, is they put tzatziki sauce on it instead of tahini, which I believe is the proper sauce. Tzatziki should go on gyros. I'm not sure if tahini is too bitter for most Americans and tzatziki is more familiar as a yogurt based sauce, or any other reason. Tahini is one of my favorite sauces and pretty simple to make so I don't know why it's not more prevalent. Bacchus Pub had a tahini sauce, it had some other seasoning added that I'm not used to, but it was still good. Though I could have had a little more sauce on mine. French onion soup was about as good as I've had except maybe at "real" french restaurants. Plenty of carmelized onion and cheese was perfectly broiled on top. I would love to come back here for the same lunch, but I can't imagine a reason why I would be in Bozeman, MT again. read more
