So far they have made one of the best dirty martinis my friends and I have found, their house-made pickle-back is tangy and spicy, and the hilariously named cocktails are perfect. The "You're Hella Cute" was sweet and fruity perfect for the summer and the "Daddy Chill" was light and tasty. Second time here and I was equally impressed. I would consider this bar an excellent "transition" bar...just came up with that term! Great to go before dinner, after dinner or in between stops. Cozy, quaint, little (14 seats total?) hip bar with wines and wonderful hand-crafted cocktails. Stopped in for a night cap. Ryan, an amazing bartender made me the Cornelius Daniel - gin, lime, apricot, velvet falernum, Szechuan pepper syrup and soda - really incredible mix of flavors. Then he made me one of their house- specialty cocktails- the classic Old Fashioned - what he calls a View from the Six - bourbon, fernet, cherry vanilla bark bitters, Angostura bitters, and pinch of sugar. We were there on a Monday night around 8 and it was packed. Because of this, there was a fun vibe. But it was also challenging because seating was limited. The bartenders were fun and friendly. Insert all the regret in the world once I finally took the plunge and walked in. This place has to be Sacs smallest bar and I love it. The bartender was so friendly and attentive and made the drinks to perfection each round. My guy and I came here on a random Wednesday as well as a Friday evening and the vibe was on point each time. Friday had a very interesting collection of people and the music both nights was great. A perfect place to wind down the evening or even start. Tiny. Yes, I'll go as far as saying it is not just small, but tiny! And wow, definitely go to the effort of dropping in for a drink if there is space. Four of us were on our way to Monday night dinner and stopped in on a recommendation, and would certainly go back. Bartender super friendly, and made spectacular and fun cocktails, and I have to say those times when you order something that looks really good on the list and way overdelivers on execution is a great experience. Maybe it is just me - but the Necromancer is the bomb! On a recent work trip, I stumbled upon the cutest, coziest, tiniest bar (around 20 seats?) I've ever been to, and I love it! For a moment there, I thought I might as well be in a tiny speakeasy bar in NYC! Perfect for a drink or two, after work, happy hour (M-F 5-7), pre-dinner, & post dinner night cap! The bar program was creative and made me want to try every single signature drink. Wish I had discovered this bar much earlier. Apparently they would change their menus every few months. I had the Jezebel's Joint which was a mezcal drink. Very well-balanced & flavorful. And then there was Parlay, pineapple rum with coconut liquor . So yummy, felt like I was beach side under a cabana Other than spirits, this bar got great selection of wines & whiskies too. I highly recommend this if you are in the area. Got a cutest patio in front. It's a casual cozy friendly neighborhood bar with quality drinks. Situated next to a big garage and there usually street parkings available. My wife and used to visit the grand as we walked around downtown/midtown; sometimes we spent our evening there, other times we enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine before heading out to dinner or stopped for a wine nightcap. It was, until now, a reliable place to have good wine with a friendly server to recommend wines to try. This past Saturday, July 3rd we decided to pay them a post-pandemic visit. As my 1-star review reflects, the visit was a major disappointment. And what's worse, this negative review is 100% attributable to the server working that night. As we walked up, the server was lounging in a chair and had a scowl on her face as she slowly got up. I asked, "is the QR Code the only way to order?" And she offered a snide and curt answer, "THAT'S why it's there ... ." Next, I said "okay, sounds good. We are looking to explore and have a flight or two" but before I could finish my sentence she cut me off by saying, "we don't do flights here. Only glasses of wine." Hard stop. Then she just stood and stared at us. No invitation to sit and explore the available wine. No recommendations. Nothing. My wife and I looked at each other and decided that if this is how the server was acting to welcome us ... NO THANKS! We voted with our feet and walked across the street to Public House, where we were greeted by a smiling server who asked, without my asking, "do you want a physical menu to look at or do you want to use the QR code on the table?" We ended up spending over $300 on drinks, food, and tips at Public House and Mikuni where we were treated like customers and not annoyances. We may try the grand again in the future if we happen to be walking by and it looks welcoming, but for a while we definitely will not add it to our date night itinerary. read more

A small and cozy place (contrary to the name "Grand") great to go to for a drink. They have a happy our until 7 on weekdays (select cocktails are $7, beer and wine discounted too). They do have outside seating as well but there are no heaters. Inside they have some high tables, bar seating and a cozy couch seating area. The restrooms are located outside of the main building, just around the corner and require a key. They have a good selection of wine and cocktails and the bartenders are very friendly/helpful. The light is dim on the inside and outside so it creates a very relaxing ambience. Keep in mind that it can get a little busy during the weekend. I've been here about 3 times and my experience has been consistently great! I definitely recommend you pay this place a visit. read more

I have come here a few times now and I have always enjoyed the insouciant atmosphere this bar has to offer. As a matter of fact, I prefer this bar over many others in that area. The bartender is really nice. People are laid back. There is neither any pressure nor do you have to struggle to order your drinks. The table next to us was loud, but what do you really expect for a Saturday evening... lol I actually have no complaints at all. Just a regular Sat evening hanging out with some friends. Although I love this bar, location, and drinks some of the bartenders are extremely rude which makes me not want to go there whenever they are are working. One in particular, her name is Liz and she has been rude every time I have gone. She is very unpleasant and appears as if it is an inconvenience whenever I order a drink. We've come here a few different times and the outdoor seating in the summer is a perfect view to watch the shenanigans across the street unfold comfortably with a delightful drink in hand. Stopped by after dinner with friends on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty though another group (or two) did come in after we did. The place is really cute and cozy. The tall ceilings are pretty majestic especially with all the drink bottles on display along and up against the walls. Sit by the windows and you can people watch. Would definitely return during spring/summer nights to check out their patio. Service was great as well. Not impressed. With all the other wine bars at close proximity, I think I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. Service was just all around whack. I guess if you're not over the age of 40 or a regular you'll get poor service. We were passed up for drinks for a much older couple who just walked in. I actually had to go inside the small bar area to get some help since no one was out there or paying attention that more customers had arrived. Selection for wine wasn't that great either. It seems like a nothing spot but The Grand is worth checking out, if only to marvel at its lack of space! The high ceilings, long windows, and narrow room are charming but functional, and the interesting artwork alone is enough to spark conversation. Stop in for a drink on a bar crawl or date night... Wine and beer only and a little on the pricey side, but excellent service if you sit inside. Hands down one of the best patios downtown, if you want to relax outside and watch the world go by. I came by The Grand wine bar on a Saturday night with my mom and was unimpressed with the inattentive service and limited choices, but it is a nice respite from the chaos of that part of town. We were looking for something to do after dinner and decided to walk over here. It was a hot night, and inside it wasn't as air conditioned as I expected, requiring us to leave a little early as we got too hot in there. The outdoor patio is nice, but it was hotter out there, even at 9pm. Both spaces are very, very small. You could fit in a group of 4 to one outside area, but otherwise come alone or in pairs. Decor was a bit dated and dusty, with very off/odd alternative music playing on the stereo. The cocktails looked interesting, but I don't drink, so had a soda water. My mom loves wine and asked for a dry white glass. The servers provided a suggestion that she liked and were pretty quick with service. The servers were nice, but after delivering our drinks, they posted up outside and never checked back in on us. With that and the heat, we took it as a cue to leave. I really expected better service at a wine-bar, but this small space at The Grand will get you a glass in a crunch. read more
