We came here to take my mom to lunch when visiting the waterfront and old Sacramento. It's one of the few sit down places along the river. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice old fashioned decor inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried the prawn cocktail, chicken salad, fish and chips and the grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was good but the fried should be crispy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's on a boat so it's unique I recommend it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was decent but a little slow

Requested a mimosa with Champagne, orange juice, dash of grenadine and she delivered. My go to.

Genuinely one of my favorite spots to go to. I live about 15 minutes away and I'm probably here every other weekend. Have yet to meet a bartender I didn't like. My current fave is Celeste. Food: Amazing. I've practically become addicted to their short rib fettuccine. Absolute 10/10 meal. The meat is ridiculously good and I'm typically not a short rib type of gal. Ambience: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great. Right on the river so you have a sweet, instagrammable view the entire time. Moreso during sunset.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You get the best pictures from the highest floor on the boat closest to the gold bridge. I've gotten some REALLY good selfies there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really good spot to bring a date too. Highly recommend walking around old town and then ending the night here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've been here about 3 times for breakfast and lunch with large groups. The service is always great and accommodating! The food I would say is pretty darn good as well! It's not food that you would make a trek across town for, but great if you're in the area and you get a great view! The prices are a little bit higher here but not overly pricey, I got a breakfast burrito that came with eggs, cheese, potatoes, and sausage. Also came with sour cream, guacamole, and pico for $15. Not bad! I enjoyed it. When I was here for lunch I got the fish and chips, I remember the French fries being super good! Worth a stop if you're in old town!

Pre dinnner snack with drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had just checked in so this seemed like a good place to enjoy the scenery around the boat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was a tad slow, but the drinks were free due to our stay. Crab cakes were good, could have been a bit more crispy but they were tasty

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very nice place to grab a meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Table and napkin linens with a great wait staff. Food was tasty, but also a little more expensive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]With it in my opinion as it is on a historic ship, on the River.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] #spicemeister approved.

The food was fabulous. My rare steak was full of amazing flavor, and my wife's salad was equally delightful. Our server, Sladjana, was attentive and always wore a smile. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was peaceful and quiet[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], even though the Delta King's website said they were fully booked and wouldn't allow reservations. When I called, however, they informed me that it was quite empty, and we could sit anywhere we liked. We're so glad we checked! Our visit was fantastic, and we will definitely return.

What's not to love? It's aboard an old paddle boat with a gracious old fashioned linen tablecloth dining area, and window views of the Sacramento River. Service is friendly yet professional. The food is good, not outstanding but good. We came for a late lunch. We had a short 10 minute wait while they prepared a table for us at a window. Our waiter offered drinks right away and our food order was taken when he brought our drinks. There was a bit of a wait until our food came, but they were fairly busy. My Shrimp Louis was very good. The portion of shrimp was very generous and they tasted very fresh. The shrimp was accompanied by sweet cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg, and crisp - tender asperagus all arranged on a bed of Romain lettuce with a light coating of creamy Louis dressing. My husband's fish and chips were a bit of a disappointment. He said they were dry and did not have a lot of flavor. They were served with a mayonnaise based sauce, he prefers them with traditional vinegar. They weren't bad, just not great. The otherwise excellent service was mared by a very long wait to get our check. It is a nice choice and a great alternative to the more casual lunch options in Old Sacramento. And, we got to eat and watch all the boats going up and down the river.

Wanted to take the wife out for a nice dinner plus great surroundings , and this place fit the bill : Food - I had the pork chop which was very good 8/10 (a sauce that they topped it with was kinda questionable) Wife had the salmon and she said it was very good 8/10 (I didn't have any but the presentation was a bit lackluster) Service - I'd say that was the IT factor that the place kinda missed the 5th star , the service wasn't bad , but wasn't great either , our waiter was ok , we didn't get the disdain that a DMV employee gives its customers but we didn't get the ooolalal that woulda made this an exceptional dinner . I will say the bartender Jacob was awesome though and the restaurant manager was very good too (he came by to shoot the breeze with us ) . Overall this place is on a ship (or boat) on the river with pretty good food and great riverboat ambiance which is perfect for a nice date .

1st it took about 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge that we were waitibg to be seated...Took 45 minutes to get our food.. 3 people ... came on Sunday afternoon... basic food .. nothing special at all.. took 15 minutes to get cream for our coffee l... servers had the hardest time remembering anything! Literally had to tell 2 servers every time we needed anything.. ordered French toast, all aboard and breakfast burrito.. bill was $80 but the food looked like it shouldn't have cos5 more than $20... strawberries on the French toast were from a can, asked for extra crispy bacon and got some so limp!.. the breakfast potatoes had growth on them and looked old... I guess your paying for the ambiance but that's not even worth it!!

One of their signature cocktails - the 'chi chi'. It was so good I drove from Davis just to order this drink a second time.
    Leah J.

Please, if you go, do yourself a favor and order something off of the signature cocktails menu. The food is really good, but the drinks are insane! My favorite is the 'chi chi' - a pineapple, coconut cream and vodka concoction served in a pineapple glass! The coconut cream is made in house with a frothed like consistency and it's like nothing I've ever tasted. If you enjoy Mai tais and pina coladas definitely give it a try. They had another cucumber and gin drink that's made with homemade cucumber syrup that was also delicious. As far as food goes, service can be slow on busy nights. So far I've had the shrimp Louie salad (amazing), the chicken sandwich (yum), the fish and chips (good), and the grilled cheese off of the kids menu (great).

When you pay, you also enter your phone number so they will let you know when the sandwich is ready. They were busy, as it was lunchtime. Still the sandwich came quickly. I got the text that my sandwich was ready at the same time that they called my name. The sandwich was very good. I liked their aïoli and the vinaigrette, you could tell that they were good quality, meats, and the veggies were very fresh. They were very generous with the fillings. I had it on sourdough, and it was a very good quality sourdough as well. I ordered a small sandwich, and it was enough to fill me up. For what I got, the price was extremely reasonable. I would definitely come back. Thanks for the suggestion, yelp!

My to-go order is the Hornet on a Dutch crunch roll with everything on it except mustard. Make it a combo with chips and a drink, and you'll have an incredible lunch. The ambiance is different from other sandwich spots in midtown. The chairs and tables are older and worn, and it's small inside, but it's also inside an old house that was converted into a restaurant. That alone makes this place unique. People hang out inside or outside with friends and enjoy the vibes. There's a real sense of community that the Sandwich Spot brings along with uniquely crafted sandwiches. The restaurant is in a really cool old Victorian house, and the staff were super friendly. The interior was clean and looked like a nice place to dine in, but I ended up taking my order to go. I ordered the #19 with turkey, prosciutto, avocado, and swiss on a dutch crunch roll. The bread had just gone into the oven, so we had to wait about 10 minutes, but I can't complain because it was baked fresh to order. Overall, I thought the sandwich was very good, but honestly not quite as amazing as people online had made it out to be. It was definitely good, but I don't know if I'd be dying to go back when I think Ike's, Mr. Pickle's, Corti Bros, and maybe even Nugget or Sprouts make more interesting sandwiches. To me, those places use slightly higher quality ingredients as well, though maybe I just didn't order the best sandwich here. Overall, it was a good sandwich and a good experience. My expectations were probably just a little too high. I wouldn't be dying to come back but also wouldn't say no if someone wanted to go there for lunch.

You're probably not pulling out your laptop to do any work or catch a vibe there unless listening to music and sending emails in a sandwich restaurant is your thing. My go-to order is the Amuna's Tuna on Dutch crunch with everything on it except jalapeños. If you're feeling a little lucky, you can get a combo meal with chips and a drink. For starters, Ike's has its own way of doing things: plain mayo is not their thing. Only way to get plain mayo on a sandwich is to get lucky that there's a smidgen still left in a jar in the fridge after they prepare their house spread. They mix GARLIC and gawd knows what else for spices to make their Ike's sauce, so allergies beware. They offer plain mustard, but not plain mayo? For seconds, the sandwich bread is not up to the challenge of holding together the mountain of fillings inside. Pics prove my point. I want to eat a sandwich with my hands, not a plastic fork (or a shovel). And I don't want to wear it, not in public. Proportions, people! One size does not fit all. Now, in fairness, the meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato were fresh, chilled, and flavorful. However, IMHO $2.00+ to add equivalent of half an avocado is robbery when a whole avocado is $1 in the market. Fortunately I arrived when there wasn't another person in the store so I was able order up a plain ham and cheese sub with L, T, and A. The counter person was patient as I attempted to navigate the menu board. I communicated my wish for a simple sandwich and it arrived, albeit ridiculously overstuffed and above my budget expectations. Props for kindness and understanding. My first visit to any shop is always testing how well they do basics. So far, I'm not an Ike's fan. I'm no newcomer to sub sandwiches. At 82, and being a Massachusetts native, I've been a sub girl for at least 75 years, ever since I could wrap my fingers around the perfect sub roll.
