    beef tacos and yuca fries

Wow. Delicious! this was really a great experience and the food was amazing. everyone was super nice and the food tasted warm and fresh and home cooked. I ordered a beef taco and yuca fries and it was definitely top ten tacos i've had. The yuca fries could have used some more sauce. The only thing i would change is that they only have six tables plus about four counter seats so it was difficult to find a place to sit. overall 9.5/10 food, 7/10 experience because of the lack of seating options

    Menu. Back Yard Taco.

This is our favorite restaurant in Edgartown. Very casual. Personable owners everything is made fresh for each order. Small with few seats but worth the wait. Another location opening in Oak Bluffs this summer. Enjoy

Tacos are the BOMB! You can't go wrong with any of them. The staff is super friendly. Don't bypass this one. You'll be sorry if you do.

Best tacos made to order. Open late. Staff is super accommodating and was so kind to fix a miscommunication on my order!

Great food. Try the eggplant taco and jalapeño margarita. Family owned and operated. Has tons of charm for an island nook restaurant.

The energy is upbeat without being chaotic, and it feels like a place where people are actually enjoying themselves. The food is good and tastes authentically Mexican, which makes sense considering much of the staff is as authentic as it gets. That always matters. Portions are generous, which helps balance out some of the pricing and keeps you from leaving hungry or annoyed. If I had one knock, it would be that prices are a bit higher than they used to be, but honestly that is everywhere and everyone is just trying to survive. Service was fast and efficient without feeling rushed. You can see why this place is a local staple and also a magnet for tourists. It knows exactly what it is and leans into it. And the drinks deserve a special mention. They are stiff in the best way and absolutely appreciated. Overall a solid choice when you want good food, strong drinks, and a night that feels like a small vacation.

The dining area and bar area need to be separated in some way as we were seated right around the wall next to the bar which was too loud for my dining preference This was not my 1st visit to the area but definitely my last visit to this establishment.

*sigh* I really wanted to enjoy this place, but apparently I wasn't quite booth-worthy…read more When we first walked in, there were two open tables available. We were told one was being held for a party of four, so no problem - we grabbed seats at the bar and waited. A little later, a booth opened up. Exciting! I went over to grab it and was informed that the booth was reserved for parties of four only. Imagine my surprise when approximately 97 seconds later (not that anyone was counting) two people were seated there. At that point, we were assigned what I can only assume is the restaurant's premium seating package: a table directly in front of the front door. This exclusive experience included a refreshing blast of wind every time someone entered or exited, dogs wandering through the dining area, constant foot traffic inches away from the table, and the occasional chair being carried over our heads for added entertainment. Truly immersive. The food was fine, but it's difficult to fully enjoy a meal when you're left wondering what qualifications are required to sit in a booth. Maybe it's age. Maybe it's attire. Maybe there's a secret booth rewards program. I'll never know. To make things even more memorable, there was also a convenient 6% surprise added to the bill at the end. Thankfully, I had dinner at Bettini the night before, where we were treated like valued guests regardless of age, appearance, or booth eligibility status. It was a nice reminder that hospitality still exists on the island. Wishing the staff the best this summer. If you're hoping for a booth, I'd recommend arriving in a tuxedo, carrying a briefcase, and bringing at least two imaginary friends to ensure your party qualifies. Save yourself the headache. Actually, save yourself the migraine and go somewhere else.

This is a 10-minute Uber ride from the main drag of Nantucket…read more For ambiance, this is as bare bones as you can get, with no effort made to give it a lively, fun, colorful vibe. Incredibly bland or no decor. Storefront is as plain as the food. The service was okay to subpar. They were out of tamarindo agua fresca. They have nearly no vegetarian items. I asked for a simple burrito with only the base ingredients listed, and they still gave me a burrito with all kinds of vegetables including zucchini, onion, squash, and other random things not listed in the menu description. A lot of hassle to get the correct one made and that one wasn't very good either. The manager didn't care enough to come out to acknowledge, and the food took 30+ minutes to be served. They were busy but you can always send the server to give updates on food status. $3 for a tiny spoon of sour cream, which doesn't accompany the main entree we ordered (beef tacos). The men's restroom was atrociously filthy. Trash everywhere, piss on the seats and floor. Sticky floors. I don't recommend this spot. $62 with tax and tip. Take your money elsewhere.

I was a bit leery of going to a restaurant that has only been open for 8 days. I've gotten burned…read moreeither by poor food or bad service. Luckily, the food and the service were both very good and shows that they definitely want to put their best foot forward. You can tell that they've just opened in the sense that they were still working on the soda dispenser behind the bar and everybody was working on their communication skills between the front of the house and the kitchen. I had the guacamole and chips to start. It was mild and while not bland, usually I like it with a little more of a kick. But both the chips and the guacamole were fresh. I next had the steak fajitas for dinner. It was served with rice, refried beans and soft tortillas. One thing that I would hope that they would do is that almost every Mexican restaurant that serves fajitas has accompaniments such as shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and some kind of hot sauce to put on the fajitas as you wish. Having said that, the steak was extremely well seasoned and had plenty of peppers and onions as well. This is minor complaint in that, like I said, they have only been open 8 days and still have some kinks to work out until they get their bearings about them. I didn't get the bartender's name ( Cicillia? ), but you could definitely tell that this isn't her first restaurant job and was on the ball with making sure that I was well taken care of. I would definitely go back, especially once they get the hang of things. Their future looks bright as when I left, there wasn't a parking spot to be found and all of the tables were full with other customers. One thing that I would suggest is to bring some patience as it isn't for a lack of effort. Being Nantucket, is isn't as if the island has much for ethnic restaurants and it might take a while to get in the swing of things, but either way, I would not hesitate to come back.
