I was a bit leery of going to a restaurant that has only been open for 8 days. I've gotten burned either by poor food or bad service. Luckily, the food and the service were both very good and shows that they definitely want to put their best foot forward. You can tell that they've just opened in the sense that they were still working on the soda dispenser behind the bar and everybody was working on their communication skills between the front of the house and the kitchen. I had the guacamole and chips to start. It was mild and while not bland, usually I like it with a little more of a kick. But both the chips and the guacamole were fresh. I next had the steak fajitas for dinner. It was served with rice, refried beans and soft tortillas. One thing that I would hope that they would do is that almost every Mexican restaurant that serves fajitas has accompaniments such as shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and some kind of hot sauce to put on the fajitas as you wish. Having said that, the steak was extremely well seasoned and had plenty of peppers and onions as well. This is minor complaint in that, like I said, they have only been open 8 days and still have some kinks to work out until they get their bearings about them. I didn't get the bartender's name ( Cicillia? ), but you could definitely tell that this isn't her first restaurant job and was on the ball with making sure that I was well taken care of. I would definitely go back, especially once they get the hang of things. Their future looks bright as when I left, there wasn't a parking spot to be found and all of the tables were full with other customers. One thing that I would suggest is to bring some patience as it isn't for a lack of effort. Being Nantucket, is isn't as if the island has much for ethnic restaurants and it might take a while to get in the swing of things, but either way, I would not hesitate to come back. read more

This is a 10-minute Uber ride from the main drag of Nantucket. For ambiance, this is as bare bones as you can get, with no effort made to give it a lively, fun, colorful vibe. Incredibly bland or no decor. Storefront is as plain as the food. The service was okay to subpar. They were out of tamarindo agua fresca. They have nearly no vegetarian items. I asked for a simple burrito with only the base ingredients listed, and they still gave me a burrito with all kinds of vegetables including zucchini, onion, squash, and other random things not listed in the menu description. A lot of hassle to get the correct one made and that one wasn't very good either. The manager didn't care enough to come out to acknowledge, and the food took 30+ minutes to be served. They were busy but you can always send the server to give updates on food status. $3 for a tiny spoon of sour cream, which doesn't accompany the main entree we ordered (beef tacos). The men's restroom was atrociously filthy. Trash everywhere, piss on the seats and floor. Sticky floors. I don't recommend this spot. $62 with tax and tip. Take your money elsewhere. read more

Charged my card for another bill and didn't wanna give me a full refund after going twice and explaining the situation. They offered me a refund in cash and not all of it. $70 from $130. I regret giving the server $50 tip. Stay away. Lots of people having similar experiences. read more

All i have to say was EH. Would not consider this a Mexican restaurant at all. Ordered the Fajitas... they only give you 2 corn tortillas.. peppers & onions were barely cooked and meat was dry. I have and could made better fajitas at home. Service was not the worst but not what it could be, overheard the table next to me having to pay for another persons check because the server messed up. Ambiance was giving a doctors office with a bar inside. Would not recommend. read more

Casa Real has excellent Salvadorian selections and tasty traditional Mexican fare. Been there four times and never disappointed. From complimentary chips and salsa, burritos, steaks, nachos, and more. Great drinks! Fine for kids and has a kids menu. Nice bar set up also if you just want to sit at the bar and eat or have a few end of day drinks. Lively and fun atmosphere with very friendly attentive service. read more

I went out to dinner here and it took over two hours to leave. we ordered apps only. The server did not bring us the pupusa sauce and we waited and waited and had to flag her down. she never apologized and we all went home thirsty because we finished our waters with our guac but was never asked for refills when the pupusas came around. It is way too expensive for what it is. My husband ordered takeout and got steak tacos and guacamole as a side and the guac came in two little sauce containers as if it was a topping for his tacos. Beautiful, new, tables/chairs. our server whispered and spoke only a little English which led me to believe food would be 'authentic'. unfortunately it was not. chips and salsa arrived and chips had no flavor, no salt straight out of a bag. Salsa was too thin to scoop. The menu had wines listed but, no wine we asked for on hand. The ceviche was taste but everything else lacked spice and flavor. Had lunch there today. Best salsa ever as a starter. Very flavorful but not burning the mouth. Shared an order of Fajitas with friend. Included steak, chicken and shrimp. Drinks- The margarita was not a margarita Like I've ever had no flavor just sweet also could not detect any tequila. I asked for salt and got none. We got chips and salsa but it was not salsa- tasted like low quality tomato puree and literally nothing else I kept adding Cholula for any flavor at all- The Chips however were good. We had to ask for water twice and only got 1 glass. I asked about a wine and the had only a few that were listed- Also, and I've never seen this, there were no prices for any of the beverages. We asked for appetizer of 2 papusas and got 3- and Apps and entrees came out at the same time- that's why they call it an appetizer. My wife's chicken flautas did not come with the guacamole or pico de gallo like it said on the menu and the rice and beans were cold- but the small portion of beans was ice cold- and just a loose soup like consistency. They finally brought the pico and guac when we were almost finished eating. I had asked for a Michelada with Modelo and he brought a Michelob ultra- no tomato in a glass- Then he brought the Michelada with a Corona instead of Modelo. When we got the check the terrible margaritas were $17 and my Michelada was $15 we're talking a bottle beer and small amount of bloody mary mix- The server was very busy so consequently the service was terrible. It Was an awful experience and we will never go back unless they literally change everything for the better. A big problem was, the menu was too huge and not practical for the kitchen could not execute anything correctly. We will never eat at Casa Real again unless they fix everything for the better- it was a terrible dining experience and I use the word "dining" loosely. Tacos, Flautas, and Papusa tasted good except cold beans and rice. I do hope they get it all together. read more

salsa is watery and just stright up bitter. we came opening weekend and it was the same, hoping it was a mistake but no. service sucks we had to ask for guacamole 3 times. chips are also not free!!! the first one is but seconds are not so be careful, it has not gotten better.
