There's also a decent amount of seating to hang out or work at. Service was fine. I ordered at the register, and she made my drink immediately. I was intrigued by their Haupia Matcha Latte. I love all things Haupia, so it seemed like the perfect match. I got the Haupia Matcha Latte with Oat Milk, and it was superb. I loved how creamy it was, how the sweetness of the haupia shone, but the earthiness of the matcha was still there. I'd definitely recommend this drink and am curious about their others. Hello Again is a nice cafe addition to Chinatown. With all the cafes in the area, it's worth a visit if you're a matcha lover like me. Not sure if the powder was a bit heavy that day or if the water temperature played a role, but I wouldn't order that one again. There are still other flavors I haven't tried, plus milk alternatives like oat milk available. A fun touch is the cameras they place on the tables so you can snap photos of your drink, yourself, friends, or whatever. Just know they may post some of the pics on their social media from time to time--it's a cute way to bring the community together. Hours are short, so check their socials before heading over. All of these spots exhibit a taste level, an eye for trends, and quality products. There's also a subtle but felt honoring of what makes local, local, underneath everything. I think that's what adds to the success. They know how to create a look, a vybe. Now when it comes to coffee I'd just like to do the shrugged emoji girl. Some of it I just can"t get into. I think I'm too old to get on the matcha bandwagon. I really just want drip coffee or espresso shots. I don't need fancy. I don't like milk. But my friends do, and I love my friends. Liv was so delightful and clearly the right person for the job so I knew I was in the right place. In the meantime I ordered an iced coffee (which was delicious!!!!) and sat down and watched folks come and go. This is clearly a popular local coffee and snack shop so I will keep this place in mind since it's locally owned and operated and their decaf is processed via osmosis, not chemicals. But I quickly realized it was actually very dark and dingy, save for the warm lamp light upstairs and the harsh white lights coming from what seemed to be the kitchen. I was very excited to try the food and coffee until my friend and I were greeted by a barista who seemed oddly and unreasonably impatient given the number of customers (or lack thereof). He was also surprisingly rude and wore sunglasses in an already low-light environment, which only added to the odd first impression. When he called my name, he placed a drink on the pickup counter at the same time, so I naturally assumed it was mine. He immediately called me back over and said, "That drink wasn't yours. It was for another customer." I apologized, to which he told me to bring it back so he could dispose of it. It felt incredibly wasteful, especially considering the business promotes sustainability through secondhand furniture. To make things worse, the coffee was flat, the hojicha was underwhelming and watery, and the lox bagel came with nearly a half-inch slab of cream cheese on both halves of the bagel and only a strip or two of salmon. He may as well have handed me the tub of cream cheese. To put a sweet cherry on top, while it's not unusual for a café to be filled with conversation, whoever was in charge of the music had it turned up so loud that no one could comfortably hear each other. Even the group next to us, who had been chatting away, seemed to be competing with the speakers. At that point, we decided to leave because the atmosphere just felt unwelcoming. Seeing as there are plenty of five-star reviews, I imagine the experience depends heavily on who's working that day. All in all, it came across as a very pretentious and overhyped place without the hospitality, warmth, or quality of food and drinks to back it up. And that's coming from someone who rarely leaves negative reviews.

It's located near Subway and 'Ōlena on the ground level. We saw the photos of the latte art, but it's usually done on hot beverages. When it's 77°F, we would rather have an iced matcha latte, please!
