My son saw something on TikTok about Bad Jimmy's and that it was a Phoenix favorite. We went to the Uptown location and I was so surprised because I have driven past this a million times and never ever noticed it -- but of course now that I did know I looked up and there was a huge billboard that says Bad Jimmy's -- how have I never noticed that before? Apple maps told me to turn in the wrong drive (where Otro coffee is) but it actually the driveway before (or after depending on which direction you are going), where the vet is -- in the back there is a very large parking lot. Bad Jimmy's is very hidden by trees and plants growing all around, so cute and I love on the door it says "Sorry! We're open" LOL. As soon as you enter it is like going back to a 60's diner with a cute little bar at the end. This is counter service so you can grab a table and a menu and then once you decide on your selection you can go up to the counter to order. They have tables inside and outside as well as at the bar. When ordering two things to note -- Get the sauce -- both their "Not so secret sauce" and the housemade ranch -- they are both so good. We made the mistake of not ordering initially and then realized everything was so dry, by the time we realized we needed sauce there was a line at the counter. Took 10 minutes to get the sauce, so that was a bummer. Also the fries portion is pretty big -- we got two orders but could have gotten away with one. My son got the Classic Double and he loved it -- it was a smashburger and the edges were so crispy and delicious! I got the "Where's the Beef" housemade veggie burger. It was pretty tasty but I feel like it was just too thick -- I would have preferred it to be half the size because it was a bit dry, but overall the flavor was there. I also got a glass of orange wine -- which was quite tasty and my son got a Mexican Coke. Also the fries are waffle fries and are perfectly crispy and YUM!!

First time here. Got the double double. I added bacon. It was so good but wishes it had some tomatoes and lettuce on it. The fries were good but felt alittle to oily. The ranch is so good!

Oh this was such a treat!!! I am still dreaming about the crispy, salty lace on the burger patty. Honestly, no notes, the burger was perfect. I loved the chopped chilis on there too, they were kind of smashed actually, which made for a very even coating of tart and spice throughout the whole burger. The fries were great too, cajun seasoning on a waffle fry? Loved it. Didn't have to wait too long, and there was lots of room for seating on a Saturday at ~2pm. Ample, free parking in the back, and a fun, indoor space. I definitely will be back! Only thing is it is a little bit pricey, as our meal added up to around ~$50, so that's something to consider!

Bad Jimmy's absolutely lives up to the hype! The burgers are perfectly smashed with crispy edges, juicy centers, and incredible flavor in every bite. The ingredients always taste fresh, the portions are generous, and the fries and ranch are delicious! The atmosphere/vibes are so fun and everyone is super friendly. We always sit at the bar and the service is amazing.

Obsessed. Straight up one of the best, new burger places I've had in a while. I usually stick to my fast food chains, and normally don't stray away to try new joints, but I am so glad I did. This place was fantastic. The burger was cooked to order, absolutely delicious. The fries, I gotta say, were probably some of the best fries IN GENERAL. So crispy, full flavor, but soft and hot inside. Perfection. Not only that, the portions are very generous and I appreciate having enough food to the point that I am almost too full. That's how I know it was worth the cost. I gotta shout out the overall vibe: it's fantastic. Something about the red lighting, mixed with some sort of retro aesthetic, makes it almost feel surreal. I love it. Highly recommend if you're looking for a really good burger.

This is a great smash burger spot! The quality matches the hype and everything is reasonably priced.

Classic Double with bacon and a side of waffle fries

Don't miss out on the waffle fries! Had a lovely girls lunch out here and we had a very yummy meal! The vibes here are fresh and fun, and I like how straight forward the menu is. The perfect amount of variation/add ons without the overwhelm. We started our meal sitting outside which was nice. And then we shared some ice cream inside so it didn't melt as fast, and the chairs indoors were very comfy and I liked the sky light in the center of the room. The only questionable moment was when I went to the bathroom: it's dark as hell! This opinion may be a sign that I am getting older, but there wasn't enough light in the bathroom (and definitely couldn't see well enough to see if it was clean, which was not ideal). The food: oh boy! This is a really solid smash burger. Very delicious! But the fries were next level good (and the ranch they have is also excellent). Ice cream was also good, but don't feel like I'll get it again if we come back (a little too pricy for soft serve IMHO). The staff here are very attentive and checked on us after ordering (even though it's a quick service). Overall, I'd definitely recommend this spot!

    Brunch Menu

I've been a fan of Bad Jimmy's for a while now, so when I saw they were doing brunch pop-ups, I had to check it out. My first attempt was a bust--showed up 20 minutes before opening and the line was already impossible so I left. This time I learned my lesson and arrived an hour early, snagging the 10th spot in line. While waiting, they handed out menus, which was a nice touch. I spotted a few items I'd missed from not making it in last time, plus that new breakfast sandwich they posted on Instagram. Once doors opened, the door guy let us know to order before finding a table. He came off a little abrupt, but I get it--opening rush is real. We ordered, found seats and waited about 20-25 minutes for our food. I got the Rib Cake - 2 pancakes with a brown butter maple cream and two ribs. The ribs were incredible. Tender, smoky, and maple glaze was perfect. I got a side of bacon... Also fantastic. But the pancake was disappointing. Dry, flavorless, just kind of there. Even with the brown butter maple cream on top, it didn't hit. Pancakes should bring back those warm childhood breakfast vibes, but these didn't do it for me. The breakfast sandwich was actually really good. Loved the tomato jam, though the hashbrown felt unnecessary--just more carbs on an already carb-heavy sandwich. My sister ordered BJs Slam and wasn't impressed with the pancake either--same dryness, and she didn't love the maple cream. When she asked for scrambled eggs at the counter, they said "no modifications," which was confusing since the eggs came out scrambled anyway. Would've been easier to just say they already come that way. The eggs were solid though, and she loved the bacon. The potatoes were a bit dry and could've been crispier. Here's the thing: I love Bad Jimmy's. Their burgers and wings are top-tier, and I'll always come back for those. But brunch? Not sure it's worth the hour wait. Some good stuff, but overall pretty underwhelmed. If there's a line next time, I'm probably hitting up breakfast somewhere else. I'll be back to Bad Jimmy's for sure--just sticking to burgers and wings. Though if they bring those ribs to the dinner menu? I'm first in line.

    Grilled cheese, wings, burgers

Convinced my husband to try this over our favorite spot, Otro. He ended up mad at me. The wings were not good. I should have taken a pic - they didn't look cooked all the way once we bit into them. The ranch was good though.. The burgers were just okay. My husband said not even a quarter as good as five guys. He was quite annoyed by the mediocre meal. Almost 70.00 of ehhhh... My daughter enjoyed the grilled cheese. Service was good - the place is clean - Maybe it was an off day..

Staple smashburger restaurant for late night bites with friends. Stopped by for the first time on a Friday night after grabbing a few drinks with friends that evening. There was a huge parking lot out back. The interior had great vibes with red low-lighting, decor, and white tiling. You order food with the cashier out front, but you can also go straight to seat yourself at the bar with its own Bad Jimmy's drink menu. The burgers had the ideal patty to bun and other toppings ratio. The patty was greasy and flavorful. We forgot to try the fries. Overall, really enjoyed the vibes and burgers. Looking forward to also trying the fries and cocktails.

Double burger with both grilled and raw onions - 3/5
    Cyril N.

Food: 3 stars - Ordered their double smash burger and added raw onions. It's pretty basic to be honest. For a $12 double burger, I was left unsatisfied, wanting more and I'm smaller than average size male in America (5'3" 140lbs). I would definitely get a triple patty next time. Don't get me wrong, it was a tasty burger; just not enough burger at that price point. The quality of ingredients are there - quality beef, fresh ingredients, soft potato buns, but the one little slice of American cheese and super thin patties felt underwhelming. There are also very limited options for add-ons; no option for fried egg, no other cheese option while adding bacon is +$3 and extra sauce or side of ranch or chopped chilis is +$2. Quite exorbitant for a classic smash burger in my opinion. I also tried their dry rub wings and they were okay. I believe it was a Tennessee style dry rub which was not bad but nothing to rave about from a burger joint. Their house ranch was on the watery side but the flavor was there. I will say, their cris cut fries are the bomb! Love the season, the crispness on the outside and fluffiness on the inside. If I'm coming back, it's because of their fries and to add an extra patty to their double. Service: 5 stars - Stood in line trying to figure out what to order and a manager walked up to hand us their paper menu with descriptions as the menu above the register was minimal without any details. That was nice. Also, the wife ordered the classic double without mustard but came out with mustard and no onions, so she had to return and they made a new one for her. They also offered a complimentary drink from the bar as to make up for their mistake. So the wife ordered their Bad Jimmy's 8 Ball off the tap because she knows I like to try unique/local craft beers. It was a pale ale and was light and crisp. Appreciate going above and beyond for a simple mistake but that's what makes an ordinary dining experience special - stellar service. Not to mention, food came out decently fast for a party of seven. Ambiance: 5 stars - from the outside, it looks disenchanting but completely transformed on the inside. It has sort of a retro diner vibe with a modern twist. I really dig the skylight in the middle of their dining space with fresh greenery - very nice touch. However, it was a bit difficult to find seating for a large party. Most seating options were for 1-4 people. Only one large booth area that could accommodate for 6-8 people. Just FYI if you're taking the whole gang during a busy dinner rush. Overall 4-stars: It's a good spot for your classic smash burger but nothing extraordinary in my opinion. Would try again and would recommend for people who don't mind paying top dollar for a simple smash burger.

First time here. It's been so many places and I've been to them all. It's a great space. It's an order at the counter place. Then they will bring it to you. Menu js short and sweet. We had 2 classics and fries and drinks. Oh and a pup patty. ( disappointed in that) But the burgers were very good. Moist and delicious. Fries.... Outstanding. We didn't do any alcohol.. but their us a full bar. Next time. Wish them well in this space. It's a hard spot to get noticed!

Well if you like assembly line food and a place where everyone is eating the same thing, ,Jimmy has you covered. About 40 burgers being cooked at once...its like your at a wedding. But with no choices. As for the burger, just like everyone else's with potato bun, secret sauce, pickles. Nothing special, but low overhead costs for Jimmy and easy greasy money.

1.17.26 A Tale of Two Beet Salads!…read more The first one we ordered tasted kind of "meaty" like maybe it was on the same grill as the burgers? The second one tasted "clean" or like it was supposed to taste. The Burger & Fish Tacos were full of flavor & freshness! I loved their fries b/c crispy on outside & soft on the outside. Missing their Guac & Chips Starter that was on former menu tho. We gotta commend the F&B Manager here! He overheard us talking to the waiter about the differences in the Charred Beet Salads & told us why: one was on the grill too long & he only knew that b/c he was in the kitchen watching them make it. He appreciated us sharing about the nuanced difference in how salads tasted & comped one. Wow - this is really going above & beyond: caring enough to have a convo w/ diners, acknowledging their palates detecting the difference AND making it right, b/c as he said "both should taste the same, like the second one." A commitment to excellence and consistency is a rarity. Overall, Lylo Swim Club outdoor bar/restaurant is a little oasis tucked away amongst so much greenery and beauty! Yes they have the pool nearby, but we didn't take a dip. Something to look forward to! P.S. Can the tile pattern on the bar be any more gorgeous?!

You would think being outside they would have someone buss since there were bugs swarming everywhere. The Dole Whip drinks you would assume the alcohol would be mixed in but just poured on top. Service was honestly extremely disappointing usually I can give them some grace but this was just... wow! Then I go to pay and there were several items on my bill that were never ordered. Mind you never got silverware or napkins so we were using the towels. 25 minutes for a can of beer mind you. Place could have potential but would need several more servers and maybe individuals that are equipped to even do the job in the first place. $300 for actually a slap in the face and no sunburn because are seats were in the shade with dirty dishes damn near on top of us. Gross, waste of money, and just disturbing. Could not pay me to come back. In addition the pool looked so alarmed I was surprised individuals were even in it, I barely let my feet in. Update : I tried to contact the hotel yesterday to get in touch with the manager, was given 3 emails all wrong. The emails never got delivered. Call the Lylo Swim Club this morning and spoke with Paul Epstein.... oh my actual god good luck. So extremely rude not helpful at all no wonder on his LinkedIn he switches jobs every few months. Some things he told me on the phone.... 1. That the dishwasher/busser was going around every 20 minutes and grabbing dishes... Wrong I saw him once 2. Explained to him that the drinks tasted like they were poisoned. He said what do you expect when you order alcohol. 3. he asked why I didn't grab a server. There were two and I saw them maybe three times only when they were delivering wrong food. He then told me that they were overstaffed yesterday pathetic. On top of that he said everyone was going there to get the dole whip drinks because of TikTok. I'm glad other people could enjoy them, but you would think since he works in the restaurant industry he would have grace for others when its impossible to please everyone. That I understand but with all of these things that went wrong a discount should have been applied. I've never experienced someone so rude and uptight. I can't even imagine someone having a bachelorette party or a birthday there I would be embarrassed to have my friends or anyone I know being in contact with this place or Paul. good luck to him.

The soothing decor and soft lighting created a cozy atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a delightful meal, especially on an unseasonably hot day. We began our culinary journey with the Larb Mushroom appetizer, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The dish featured succulent oyster mushrooms tossed with roasted rice powder, fresh mint, shallots, cilantro, and a vibrant chili-lime dressing. Each bite was a refreshing explosion of flavors, combining the earthy richness of the mushrooms with the zesty brightness of the dressing. It was light, refreshing, and a perfect precursor to the meal ahead. For her main dish, my wife chose the Pad Z U, an outstanding selection that showcased sautéed broad noodles, crispy fried tofu, and Chinese broccoli, all enveloped in a delectable sweet soy sauce. The noodles were soft and chewy, creating a delightful texture that harmonized beautifully with the vegetable medley and tofu. The heat in the dish was skillfully balanced, providing just enough kick without overwhelming the palate. My wife couldn't stop raving about it! I opted for the Kua Kling, and it truly was a star of the evening. This spicy stir-fried minced chicken was enriched with fragrant curry paste, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves, resulting in an aromatic dish that was accompanied by tender long string beans and the unique Sadtor beans. The flavor profile was complex and enticing, with each ingredient complementing the others in a delightful dance of spice and freshness. It was a dish that not only warmed my belly but also left me craving more. What elevated our experience even further was the attentiveness of our server. With a genuine smile and a welcoming demeanor, they offered excellent recommendations and ensured that we were well taken care of throughout our meal. Their knowledge of the menu added to our enjoyment, making the dining experience even more memorable. Overall, LeDu Thai is a culinary treasure that I cannot recommend highly enough. Each dish was exceptional, bursting with flavor and crafted with care. The combination of delicious food, attentive service, and a cozy ambiance makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable Thai dining experience. The hotel is located on a busy street, where you'll often hear the noise of cars buzzing by or the train choo-chooing. Did I just make up a word?! I imagine the best time to stop by is during sunset. The outdoor area is relatively narrow with seating for about 20-30 people. It's a mix of comfortable seats and tables/chairs. There's also a charming indoor area, where the bar is located, but I felt like I had to sit outside. The weather was perfect, too. Service (2.5/5): This is where the comedy of errors began. I was given a menu and some water and was left to peruse the menu. Before the waitress had returned, I had picked out an appetizer and a cocktail. I then discovered that their cook had quit the other week and as a result, no food was available. That's fine and all, but you've gotta give me a heads-up when giving me the menu. That way, I wouldn't have spent the time to look over the food menu and get my heart set on a particular dish. On a better note, they have free WiFi. And service was overall friendly and pretty efficient. Food (N/A): While I was unable to order some food, on most nights, they have a small menu of small plates. More of a snack type of spot then a full meal type of establishment. Drinks (3/5): Don Woods is know for its cocktails and they have a list of 10 or so craft cocktails. Plus, beer, wine, and the typical options that you would find when there's a full bar. I feel like the bartender messed up the proportions on my cocktail as it was a bit rough. One drink and I was out. It seems like Don Woods' is experiencing some turnover which is leading to some mishaps. Combine that with some high expectations given the accolades they won, and it was the recipe for a disaster. I love a good rooftop bar, so I was hoping for more at Don Woods' Say When. Even the lobby of the hotel was experiencing issues. They sell popsicles in the lobby but the guy temporarily manning the front desk didn't know how to get their Square device working. Which ended up meaning no appetizers for me at Don Woods and no popsicles from the lobby. Two strikes. We live to fight another day.
