Some things have changed. I've been back a few times since my initial visit and the service is not the same and price have increased. The girl in the front (short, glasses, black) is ALWAYS on her phone and everytime I go I feel like I'm interrupting something. She's either always looking up and down on her phone or has a very unwelcoming attitude with some clients. I had been so excited to try this place! I went once and the line was so long that I had to leave. All in all I would say everything was just okay. The coffee cake I had was good. A solid 8/10. I tried a couple of cookies and they were fine. Nothing to write home about and certainly not reflective of the $4 per cookie. The most disappointing thing was the cake slice i tried. Over $7 for one slice and it was extremely dry. When they gave me my order, i did notice that the cake slice was cold. i was a little confused by that because why would cake be refrigerated? especially if it was recently made. I obviously don't know forsure but it led me to believe it must have been at least a few days old. The ambiance was really cute. I visited the bakery today, 1 hour wait I didn't care about that it's what's expected. It's a cute little shop, aesthetically pleasing. I met Ash mom and she was very sweet good customer service . The one issue I had was that I was charged for Banana Bread and did not get it. I should have have checked my bag, so that was partially my fault. The cookies were really good! I did purchase the red velvet cake it was ok . The cookies are fresh, moist, but have a nice crunch around the edges very flavorful. I will admit I got lucky and came at a time when there was no line. I was fully prepared to wait because all new businesses around here have a line. Please note - some of these reviews are FAKE and fans of a shady reviewer doing his bidding. I understand this is a soft opening and perhaps they weren't prepared for the turnout. I'm hopeful they will take the CONSTRUCTIVE criticism to heart. For instance, just having 1 register won't work. Another idea is to have information about ingredients on the menu. Someone in front of me went line by line with the cashier regarding menu items and it took far too long because of that. So about my order... I ordered a dozen assorted cookies, a strawberry matcha, and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll will defintely be their claim to fame. I haven't had a better one. I'm not a big matcha person but this was the only I've had that didn't taste like landscaping. My favorite cookie was the brown sugar cookie. While a thinner cookie, it was still very moist and tasty. I had a minor issue with my order and contacted the bakery. Ashley replied to me herself and passionately offered to make it right. That shows her integrity right there. I appreciate that greatly. Let's give this place some grace as it hasn't even been opened a month yet. tried a matcha cinnamon roll because it's been super hyped. the roll itself was good, but i felt the cinnamon greatly overpowered any sort of matcha flavour. maybe the cinnamon needs to be toned down, or even removed for the matcha to be present. will give cookies a try next time, when there's no wait. read more

IMO all of the flavors are very muted the cookie had a subtle hint of peanut better, roll had a hint of cinnamon and the same with the red velvet cake. The frosting on the cake was whipped butter cream I think it didn't seem to be the traditional cream cheese frosting the cake was actually cold I was afraid to let it sit out as I thought the frosting would melt but who wants cold cake? Anyway the roll was fine I appreciated that it wasn't drowning in icing and all three items weren't overly sweet actually they were barely sweet I guess that's their thing. I've been following Ashley's journey on TikTok--from personal chef, to running a ghost kitchen and shipping cookies, to finally opening her own bakery. So when she opened a location not too far from me, I couldn't wait to try it. My husband happened to be near Old Towne the other day, so I asked him to stop by and pick up a few treats. By the time he arrived, the cinnamon rolls were already sold out (no surprise there!), but he grabbed me a half-dozen mixed cookies instead. They were delicious--thin, soft in the center, and perfectly sweet. We're already looking forward to going back to try their drinks, cinnamon rolls, and banana pudding. The bakery has only been open for a couple of weeks, so if you visit, please be patient and give them grace as they work through the early rush and fine-tune things. The way I was stalking her TikTok so that I don't miss when she opens!! To only not make it in till months later but either way, WORTH IT! So I spent close to $50, I wanted to get all that I wanted to try. I got the half dozen of cookies, which you can mix and match so I got, chocolate chip, brown sugar, s'mores and toffee chocolate chip (but 6 total cookies). They were all good, I think I liked the brown sugar best. I got a red velvet slice, bomb! I love red velvet and hers was pretty good. A caramel iced latte, that was good too. Everything tastes homemade and delicious. I love that the cookies are not overly sweet. I ordered a cold brew and then I saw the cinnamon roll latte and hurried over to ask if I can exchange my drink. But most importantly let's get to the sweets: Chocolate chip cookie: This the best brown butter chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. I usually do not like brown butter cookies, but this one was amazing. The crunchy edges and the soft center was the perfect texture. 9/10 S'mores cookie: Delicious, but I do wish it had more of *something* I can't put my finger on it. It tasted a little too similar to the chocolate chip cookie. 8/10 Matcha cinnamon roll: I wanted to love it as an avid matcha drinker, but I liked it a lot. The texture was beautiful, soft, and pillowy. As far as matcha flavor it is subtle, but their is a sliiiight bitterness to it that I prefer more in the drink as opposed to a cinnamon roll. 8/10 Classic cinnamon roll: Truly incredible. It's perfect. A must try. 10/10. Strawberry matcha latte: *disclaimer: I absolutely love matcha lattes so I am picky* It was good, not great. I came this morning around 8:45(don't judge me) just in case there was a long line. When I started to see people form around 9:30, that's when I got out my car. I was the 4th person in line and plenty of others behind me. Doors opened at 10 and we were greeted by Ashley. My order was taken right away and I was literally out of there in 5 minutes. I got the iced matcha with oat milk and vanilla sweetener with cold foam on top. 100/10!!! I also got the classic cinnamon roll, carrot cake, and smores cookies. Everything I had was good especially the cinnamon roll. However I think the cinnamon roll can bake just a little longer to make it a tad bit firm on the edges. It seemed liked there wasn't enough custard, so the the wafer was dry. That's fine if I'm eating cookies alone but a failure as a component of this dessert. Honestly mid experience. The business effort is there, but the customer service is boo boo. Service review: Walked in and there's a line around the display of baked goods. It was crowded and I was not about to assume what is where so I asked the workers to confirm and felt like I was a bother (I got the 'gen z stare' except these women were not Gen Z). They could have greeted and directed customers when they walked in to avoid confusion but the group of 5ish female workers didn't look up at all and just let the lines grow. As a POC supporting a black owned business, I did not feel welcomed here, in fact very much dismissed by the front register cashier Jalayla who didn't bother to make eye contact and brushed me off with her questions (what flavors? need a receipt?), yet had all the time and sweetness in the world for the black woman ordering before me (who had a long and complicated, split order & even had extra directions on how to bag her goods after they had already been bagged - yeah, she was that girl and was acknowledged, respected and taken care of). As a customer with a simple order, and seeing better treatment towards someone who was difficult and held up the line - this makes me think there's a service bias for black customers. I see this behavior at white establishments often, depending on the area, and did not expect this mean girl energy at all. I didn't even want to post or tag them on IG, because I will not support a business like this - I unfollowed immediately. Food review - I tried a few cookies (6 for $21): Cornbread: texture was there but they didn't commit to the cornbread flavor. You can skip this flavor S'mores: absolutely White chocolate macadamia: yes The matcha cinnamon roll was underwhelming and bread has a sour after taste. This one is more photogenic than tasty. Just a hype and not worth the spend - take your business to Artisinal by CAR. It's worth the hype! I usually go early on Saturday mornings and while parking can be frustrating the treats make up for it! The cinnamon roll is divine...just the right amount of sweet and so soft! I enjoy a fully soft cinnamon roll not just the middle and they deliver. The cookies are good! We tried about 6 flavors in total and all passed the test. The brownies the chocolate and the s'more were the right amount of richness.
