Honestly, this might've actually been the worst Indian food I've ever had. Pretty much everything was under-seasoned and mediocre at best. I've heard such good things so this was so disappointing:,) The chicken tikka tasted like tomato soup and was sweet?? The goat kebab was soooo tiny!! I was shocked when it came out, it looked like something off the childrens menu. It had good flavor for the kebab itself but the sauce it came in did nothing to enhance it, The short rib was SOO tender, it was perfectly cooked. But there was no flavor at all, just tasted like meat lol. Also warning - they don't let you ajust spice level and it comes with negative spice. Also every dish was borderline room temperature, not hot at all. Overall would not recommend and it's very $$ for the amount of food you get. Service was good and vibes in there were sooo perfect for a date night!

Loved the pure Venice-cool vibe--think hip-hop soundtracks, a flashy orange marquee, and high energy buzz throughout the room (probably in part because of how hard it is to nab a rez). Some of our favorites were their crispy yogurt puri cup starter (MUST GET!), their signature Chicken Tikka Poutine, the lamb neck korma, and the oyster mushroom laal. Thought the chicken tikka, black lentil daal, and the mussels fell a little flat...they all could have used a bit more seasoning/spice. Save room for the chai chocolate pot du creme for dessert...SOOO good! Fia was our server and she CRUSHED IT! So good with recommendations and checking in.

At Badmaash Venice, the vibe and aromas pull you in before the first plate even lands. You walk in expecting a cool Venice dinner spot and leave realizing this place is operating on an entirely different frequency. The menu is fearless in the most intentional way possible. Traditional Indian dishes sit next to steak frites, masala fries, marrow curry, and a crispy okra & potato situation that deserves its own homage. Somehow none of it feels random. Every dish feels like it belongs exactly where it is. This isn't precious, overly polished Indian food made to play safe for the neighborhood crowd. The flavors are loud, rich, spicy, smoky and deeply satisfying. The butter chicken tastes like comfort with better instincts. The chutney actually has heat. Even the naan arrives like it knows it's part of the experience. And then there's the energy. Great music, low lighting, cocktails flowing, tables leaning into conversations a little longer than planned. It feels cool without begging you to notice. The kind of place where dinner accidentally becomes the whole night. The result is a restaurant with swagger, soul, and the rare ability to remind you why dining out, at its best, can still feel transportive.

Dined at Badmaash on Abbot Kinney last night. Everything was excellent from the service to the food to the ambiance. We ordered the butter chicken samosa, chicken tikka, the short rib, rice, and garlic naan. All were excellent and flavorful we cleaned the plates. Our server Christopher also went above and beyond. He let us sample a few wines before choosing a bottle and was very attentive. Super fun to chat to as well.

My new top 5 best in LA @badmaashla in Venice!! The yogurt puffs are a culinary experience themselves. From the chili cheese naan, butter chicken samosa, coconut curry mussels (my fave), chicken tikka masala, okra and more this is the best Indian food I've ever had!

Was surprised and delighted to see that we could order Badmaash on the Westside through DoorDash! Apparently they have a location on Abbot Kinney in Venice that isn't open for regular business yet but is accepting delivery and pickup orders on DoorDash. We got the butter chicken, fish fry, saag paneer, samosas, naan, and mango lassi. Of course everything was delicious, and the flavors were very pronounced. Food arrived still hot. Excited to try more things!

Amazing staff + service and delicious food. The mussels and butter chicken samosas were really good but the steak frites are a must get item

There were four bite pieces of chicken in the chicken tikka masala.... I'm all for restaurants succeeding but that is unacceptable.

Cocktails were gorgeously presented but some flavors (like cardamom) were barely detectable. Avocado burrata chaat was also gorgeous but the three tiny drops of tamarind chutney were grossly insufficient. We asked for and received more and it really brought the dish to like and balanced all the creaminess of cheese and avocado. The lamb rogan Josh needed at least 6-8 hours more slow cooking both for tenderness as well as development of flavors in the sauce. It mostly tasted like tomato sauce. The artichoke saag was definitely the standout of the meal. We skipped dessert as nothing really spoke to us. Ambience is nice but music selection is odd - would have preferred some nice ragas to the blaring Grateful Dead and Bjork. Service was fine but our waiter seemed very unsure when we asked questions. Glad I tried this meal so I finally have an idea what Fitoor but I doubt I'll be back.

The smell and flavors have never appealed to me, but I decided to come out of my comfort zone and try something different. Plus for some reason everyone is all about the butter chicken right now and I've been wanting to try it. So I ordered Uber eats from here since its close and popular. I think Im converted. I played it safe and ordered butter chicken, chicken Tikka masala and garlic naan. It was all amazing! Again I don't have anything to compare it to cause I don't generally eat it but It was delicious to me. I did expect some level of spice/heat which would have been nice but there was none, but again Im not familiar with the dish. My only gripe is I paid about $40 before Uber charges and expected the naan to be included or at least RICE. Nothing, I paid $6 extra for 2 little pieces of naan, not nearly enough to finish the meal and felt a little ripped off. I would like to go back in person and maybe get a combo or special or something not available on the app to see if I get more for my money.

Our bill reach, with tip, $125. The service was nice, attentive and they gave us a nice complimentary dessert. Place is simple clean and spacious. There's a small parking lot in front of the restaurant and from what I understood, at the back too. Would definitely go back and try other things in their extensive menu.

And he seemed to think we needed Indian food explained (sold?) to us. The environment is a mess, between a patio in messy flux and a side area stacked with boxes. Maybe they do mostly delivery? And the food went from decent to absolutely bad. Once the restaurant had 3-4 tables full--the tables are way way too close together--service dropped off and I had to signal for the check multiple times. There's no way on earth I would ever go back here. It wasn't cheap and it wasn't good.

Extremely cute, green, and well decorated. Price was extremely reasonable- spent around $230 (including tip) for all the below + a drink. Let's get into the food. Appetizers: Pork Dumplings - 8/10 (GF rating 8/10) These were great. The inside was solid, outside was acceptable, and crunch on top was great. The sauce absolutely made it. Quite a good choice. Curry Puffs - 9.5/10 (GF rating 10/10) Delicious. You won't regret getting these. Pastry outside is amazing, inside is even better, tamarind makes it EVEN better. Just keeps getting better. Get them. Chicken Larb - 9/10 (GF rating 7.5/10) Very tasty. The sauce it's in is amazing and the flavor profile is just great. Highly recommend. Crispy Pork Belly Salad - 8/10 (GF rating 9/10) Also very good. The flavors all fit together extremely well. I'm not a fan of pork belly but this was done great. Main: Beef short rib - 10/10 (GF rating 10/10) Holy shit. We were so full at this point, it was unfortunate we couldn't finish this, because it was so good. Most tender beef I have ever had. I went at it with a fork, expecting to have a tiny bit of give, but it just fell off the bone, effortlessly. Easier than gliding through softened butter. I also normally don't like fatty pieces due to the texture/chewiness, and was worried I wouldn't like this dish as short rib is quite fatty. I absolutely LOVED the fat on this. It was impeccably rendered. Genuinely the best beef short rib I have ever had. The sauce and cilantro + peanuts it was paired with was a perfect flavor combination as well. Came with a delicious bread as well (naan-esque?) Dessert: Underwhelming, unfortunately. Got all 3. Thai Tea Pudding - 6/10 (GF rating 2/10) Pudding underneath was decent. Boba on top with the sauce was not. Boba not marinated in honey, just chewy bland boba! The custard itself was also not very reminiscent of Thai tea. Vanilla Soft Serve Sundae - 6/10 (GF rating- 5/10) Vanilla ice cream itself was very good. The salted caramel, not particularly, nor the Milo brownie on top of it, and the peanuts didn't pair well with it either. Very mid. Strawberry Basil Shaved Ice - 2/10 (GF rating 7.8/10) GF LOVED THIS. Of all the desserts here, she thought this was the best. I just didn't like this one a single bit. The shaved ice on top was fine but it was a very thin layer and was more about what was underneath (passionfruit pieces, tapioca-like balls, and coconut), which just wasn't it for me.
