Our food didn't arrive until 20-30 minutes after ordering, with staff blaming a "machine printout issue, the kitchen never got the order". Meanwhile, I could clearly see our food sitting on the counter getting cold. When I asked to speak with a manager, the cashier dismissed my concerns and tried to gaslight me. The manager overheard everything but chose not to intervene. After another 5-10 minutes of waiting--and watching other customers receive their orders--we finally asked for a full refund. Both the cashier and manager were disrespectful throughout the process. Save your money and avoid this place. There are plenty of nearby spots with better food and far better service. read more

My wife and I always get excited when we hear 'dumplings' and Bafang definitely delivered. We sampled a number of dishes including: Bafang signature pot stickers Corn & chicken dumplings Chili pepper fried chicken Taiwanese beef noodle soup The pot sticker skins were delightfully thin while the dumpling filling's freshness was evident upon first bite. The noodle soup was massive with plentiful meat...great flavors though the broth could've used a bit more weight and depth. Funny enough, my favorite ended up being the fried chicken - top notch fry job that sealed in loads of juice inside. The dining area was spacious with plenty of high chairs available for the kids and the service was efficient and welcoming. Will be back soon to eat through the rest of the menu! read more

My husband and I went on a Wednesday afternoon around 5:30-6p and there was not a huge wait. Pricing is relatively affordable. The restaurant is pretty casual, you order at the counter and pick up your order. There isn't really a discount if you choose one of combos (in case you were wondering). We got the original pan fried dumplings and the original spicy noodles & original non spicy noodles- seemed like the difference was mala spice. I really liked the cold appetizer of bean curd and seaweed- a nice addition to the heavier noodles and dumplings. I've been coming here for over a year now. I love their wonton soup and sesame noodles. Regardless the rude service, lacking initiative, and the fact that they always get my order wrong and miss drinks, I was still happy with the food, I had no complaints. Tried this place out for the first time at their Torrance grand opening. Sooo happy a dumpling place was opening up closer to me. Always happy to support more Asian food places in Torrance! First glance, the place is very casual looking and doesn't have many decorations and I feel like they didn't have many tables but had space they could've utilized to add more. My boyfriend and I ordered a variety of things: the dumpling sampler + corn chowder combo, the old fashioned noodles + pork chop combo, fried chicken, their signature potstickers, and a black tea soy latte. I thought all the dumpling flavors were good but the one I enjoyed the most was the corn and chicken one! I was pleasantly surprised with the corn chowder as well, but maybe because I just love corn :) The fried chicken was good and the sauce it came with complemented it well. We didn't enjoy the pork chop as much because it was a bit soggy and we wish the outer crust was crunchier like the fried chicken, but my boyfriend thought the noodles were good while I thought they were a bit bland. I also ordered the black tea soy latte but I think they forgot the espresso and black tea part because all I tasted was soy milk and it didn't look like the menu picture. It's my fault for not checking before we left since we did a to-go order and they put the drink in the bag, but since it's their grand opening little mistakes are to be expected. I do think it's cool that they sell bags of frozen dumplings that you can take home and cook yourself. I got a bag of their signature dumplings for my family to try. Their noodles and wonton soup are incredible so 5 stars there, but everything else we tried is frozen food quality but at affordable prices so four stars for the majority of the menu. The Bafan Noodles were my favorite dish but weren't standout. I liked them the best due to their texture and sesame paste sauce. Probably what I would get again next time if I had to order from here. The Taiwanese beef noodle soup was really good and a toss-up for favorite, but the bok choy and beef could have been cooked longer / more tender. However, great flavor; I'm normally not a noodle broth drinker but I was drinking this one. I did like how both noodles were al dente and chewy, and tasted delicious and fresh. The wontons from the wonton soup had INCREDIBLE flavor. This was the most unique and flavorful dish imo but I prefer thicker skins, which is why I could tell these were knockout wontons if looking at just the flavor of the filling even if not a personal favorite of mine. I LOVE XLB and these wontons were XLB but in wonton skins, essentially. The meat was impossibly soft and flavorful and somehow soaked up the broth. Dont get the potsticker dumplings if you don't like the thin flavorless skin from bibigo frozen dumplings. The regular dumplings were ok, better than the potstickers but the dough wasn't homemade and I've had so many good dumplings that this one isn't worth the calories. The fried chicken wasn't that good, I took a bite and put the rest down and this is someone who has trouble not eating food in front of her who loves deep fried stuff. Both my daughter and I were not feeling well and wanted hot soup. Soup is the go to meal for sick! I ordered wonton soup for my daughter while I had hot and sour soup. I can't pass judgment on the wonton soup as I didn't try it in case I pass on possible deadlier germs to my daughter ....or she pass on such germs to me too. So we had our own soup to enjoy. I've had hot sour soup many times as different restaurants and homemade as well. So I was eating the soup with a comparison basis. I can't say it was the best. It lacked the sour twang and the umami flavor was lacking too. But I'll temper my judgment because I was sick after all and admit that my taste buds were asleep at the wheel. So while I give it 3 stars only.... I will try it again when my buds are all active and alert! Gotta say the place is impeccable clean though. One more downside by the way is there were only 3 staff. 2 in the kitchen and one in the counter. The girl on the counter was so busy with putting together take out orders that I and others waiting to order had to wait several minutes for her to finish. Seems like a lack of staffing is an issue. Found this place today and I'm so happy that there are dumplings nearby to me. The dumplings are filled with cabbage and pork, but the cabbage is not overwhelming. They're perfect steamed dumplings and remind me of SF. The noodles are thick and the signature chili sauce makes them a bit spicy but not too hot. The sweet and sour soup is great for a windy day and the tofu and veggies help make it a great choice for your side with your combo. The staff are really nice and answered all of my questions. I will try the chicken and corn dumplings next time. One of the combos is actually a mix of the different dumplings and that will be worth a try. read more

Food: 3/5 Combo #5 Ba Fang dumplings and corn chowder combo. Ba Fang dumplings (boiled): 4/5 Medium thickness of skin, I don't like doughy skin like the Ling Ling's frozen chicken dumplings sold at Costco. These are frozen dumplings, so it tasted as such but may be a tad better than grocery store bought frozen dumplings. Meat and cabbage combo is just right, tasted better with their vinegar sauce and may be garlic/sesame sauce combo. Corn chowder: 0/5 Only took one spoonful and cannot eat it at all! It was extremely sweet (too much sugar added) to the point it's doesn't taste as corn nor as soup, but more of a dessert drink. Not a second scoop anymore. Wasted! Service: NA It's self serve after ordering, cleaning up table, putting away trays just like any fast food chain. Even McDonald has people cleaning up tables occasionally. Minimal decoration with meaning of dumplings in general terms for different styles of preparation. I had a very frustrating experience with the staff. I ordered two 12-piece dumplings, but was given noodles instead. When I brought up the mistake, the employee who helped me (a woman with half-blonde, half-black hair and multiple facial piercings) responded rudely, though she said she would correct the order. However, when my food was ready, they gave me noodles again. When I asked about the dumplings a second time, she gave me a dirty look and laughed about it with the other cooks.
