The dry noodles, pot stickers, pork chop and dumplings are great, but anything with soup is pretty atrocious. The soups remind of of the dehydrated instant soups you get at Ranch 99--a strange unnatural flavor. Also for the love of God, why aren't there any vegetables on the menu? The pickeld cold dishes to balance your meal is in a small side fridge which is almost always empty. Also I wish they didn't use disposable plates for every single little thing.. I am astounded by the delicious mix of flavors. Wife noticed this place last Sunday when we stopped to buy bagels. Looked it up online and decided to give it a try. On our Saturday, take out, day we ordered Pork Pot Stickers, Chicken and Corn Dumplings, Won Ton Soup and Old Fashion noodles. Placed the order on line and headed over. I had zero wait time as they were prompt and efficient. 1-5 for service and they were a 5. Got home and hoped the food would be good. It was better than good. It was outstanding. I ordered the combo #4. The signature noodle had a very nice touch of sesame and tasted really nice with the spicy oil sauce. FYI the toppings are green onions only, so there are no vegetables. Since this is a fast food joint, everything is self serve; you will need to serve yourself water and condiments, and pick up food by yourself. Therefore, there is no tip, which is neat. read more

What a lovely surprise. I actually was seeking a sit down place for lunch and was not disappointed at having to order at the counter! I tried their house special dumplings and potstickers of pork and kimchi. The dumpling wrappers were soft and the potstickers were crispy perfection. So we usually like Bafung- but tonight I ordered via the website- my husband went to pick up the food and had to wait 10 min beyond the estimated time. Ok- that happens. But when he picked up the order- he asked to make sure everything is in the bag. He was assured it was, Only to come home and discover that one item was missing - the noodles to the Beef noodle soup. Hard to have beef noodle soup without the noodles. Called the restaurant then drove back to get the noodles. It happens. I rated Bafang a four star when it first opened. Today, the overall quality is substantially lower. The dumplings, soup & noodles are still the same, but everything else seems to lost its soul. The pickled vegetables are way too sweet. And the loo'ed meats & tofu are simply under seasoned: just bland & unappetizing. Then the lemon black tea... no tea flavor, just syrupy lemon sweet. These side dishes that raise the bar for Bafung now hold it back. The fun that was the menu are gone. read more

Too bad! I really like the food but the service is terrible. Went a week after the first review and this time placed an order online for pickup. We ordered around 530pm and got a 15-20 min ready eta. My husband went to pick it up and they didn't make the wonton soup and said they were waiting on that. Time goes by and the soup is ready, but they didn't start the drink we ordered. Not to mention the rest of the order was ready earlier, sitting there getting cold. In all, it took 45 (!!!) mins to get our food. Maybe service is better on other days- avoid going on Saturdays! Torrance location is my favorite out of all the locations I've visited. Their signature noodles are al dente and perfectly sauced. And they have vegetarian fried dumplings! The pan fried dumplings here were done right with the crispy edges. It's a quick and easy way to get some Taiwanese flavor - especially after you take a sip of that wonton soup with the silky wonton skins. Service is quick. I do wish they had more tables and seating though. There's room for it. read more
