Had a wonderful dinner me and my wife. The waitress serving on the 2nd floor Balcony was a problem. Our reservation was at 5:45pm and the sun was going down and my wife was sitting facing the Sun. Asked the waitress to have someone lower the sunblind and she said there's Eisenglass there and won't help. So, I got pissed off with her excuse and got one of the other workers to lower the Blind which worker just fine blocking the Sun as it was frying my wife's face off....!!!!! Our dinner cost $200, so when a customer asks to have someone lower the Blind, then just do it....!!!!! I nicely handed the young man lowering the Blind $10 and left the waitress a 15% tip for shoddy service. Coming from NYC, I was tempted to leave her a 1 cent Tip. Made our meal "un-enjoyable"...!!!!! We had brunch reservations on a Sunday at noon. We ordered eggs Benedict, tuna poke, a quinoa bowl, sausage egg Sammy special and a veggie omelette. We are foodies and love a really good breakfast spot. In fact, we have an incredible breakfast diner where we live that holds the benchmark for best breakfast experiences. The poke was my favorite (fresh and tasty). The eggs Benedict came on a dry little crossiant, Canadian ham was thin and tasteless. Even the poached eggs were minuscule and dried up. The person who ordered the sausage egg sandwich was happy but everyone else was underwhelmed. read more

Wow! That about wraps up the food here at Bagatelle. The complimentary bread came with a red pepper compound butter that was so unique! They had a very good wine selection and one of the best mocktails I've ever tried!(black cherry midnight). We tried the bagatelle salad and the burrata - both were delicious. The grilled peaches on the burrata really stole the show for salad though! As mains we got the swordfish and the hogfish. Both were simply amazing. The swordfish was grilled to perfection and served with the most unique risotto I've had. The hogfish was seasoned amazingly which I find hard to do since it has such a sweet & delicate flavor. The pepper cream sauce served over it was stellar and didn't distract from the fish which was the star of the plate! The only thing I can say is I regret not leaving room for dessert! read more

We've been coming here for years always thinking this will measure up to the ones in NY and LA, but always leave disappointed from the service and the food options. I gave it 5 stars 5 years ago, but clearly now this place has lost those ratings with the experience and cuisine changes. Overpriced now with poor service, I never got a refill on an ice water lol. And then the waitstaff looms over you with the payment tool with the 20% tip defaulted, and you're like Awkward lol. anyway I would not return here, it was not memorable. read more

Fairly disappointed after having high hopes from the reviews. Swordfish was very dry, and visually looked dry before even tasking it. The broccolini with it also was just steamed and flavorless. After having a great experience here a few years ago, we decided to visit again this week. The service was fine but the food was not up to our expectations. The lobster fettucine was served with the lobster in the shell. I know it's a personal choice, but we don't care for it that way. However, the lobster was extremely dry and overcooked. The grouper had the opposite problem, cooked around the outside but raw in the middle. I get that everyone has an off night occasionally, but my main gripe is what happened afterwards. I kept a copy of the receipt with the amount that was charged including the amount of the tip I added (20%). When I got home and checked the charges on my account, the amount of the total I signed for had been changed with an additional $3 added. This was not the tax or the CC surcharge, just extra money that was added to my bill that I can only assume was someone helping themselves to an additional tip? I tried to rectify this by calling the restaurant. Twice I was sent through to voice mail, twice I left my information and asked for a call back, and twice, I was ignored. I know that $3 is not a lot of money but this kind of thievery is just wrong. We travel to Key West quite often but needless to say, we won't be going back to Bagatelle. read more

Lovely place to dine in Key West. Its on Duval St. but the quieter end. Perched inside a historic mansion its perfect for a special occasion or celebration. There were several wedding parties dining there the evening we went. Try for the upstairs balcony. Service was spot on. Very responsive without hoovering and just friendly and pleasant. Food was excellent. Salads were all crisp and fresh, the lobster mac was a HUGE portion. Could have been a meal in and of itself. Bagatelle saved our Thanksgiving Day! When our reservation at another restaurant was cancelled at the last minute due to the restaurant's poor communication, we were left with nowhere to go for Thanksgiving dinner. Since we had a reservation at Bagatelle for the following night, my husband quickly called the restaurant to see if they were able to move our reservation up by one day. The restaurant was able to accommodate us, but we would have to eat a bit earlier, which we did not mind. After a full day of traveling, we just wanted to enjoy a nice, hot meal, and thanks to Bagatelle, we were able to do just that. We started off dinner with a couple of glasses of wines and an order of pan charred brussels sprouts with bacon. The brussels sprouts were all right. Then, for our mains, I had the swordfish, the "Key West Master Chef Award winning dish," while my husband had the Thanksgiving Day Special, which included turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing. The portions of both entrees were huge, but this was our first meal of the day, so we devoured everything. I really enjoyed my Swordfish, it was surprisingly soft, and the texture of the risotto was cooked to the perfect consistency. After cleaning our plates, our server brought out a slice of key lime pie for us, mistaking it for one of our birthdays. We told her it wasn't either our birthdays. Upon realizing her mistake, she offered the slice of key lime pie on the house, but if we did not want to eat it, it was okay too. My husband and I appreciated the gesture, so we kept the pie. They have a Cozy upstairs and downstairs seating with outside patios. This is my go to for future stays. With two tasty happy hours once in the morning and afternoon, what's not to love? We stopped into Bagatelle during one of our cruise port days. It's within an easy walking distance to the cruise port. The food was delicious. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and my husband ordered breakfast tacos. It's a beautiful space with indoor and outdoor seating options. It was a Saturday night and we had been on a dive all day and didn't think to make reservations; the staff was so nice and got us in right away. Amazing seats outside on the balcony. The staff was friendly and accommodating to us having a small dog and set aside a table ahead of time that met our ask to be on the porch. Food was pretty good and some of the best I had in key west. The food was GREAT ( happy hour brunch at the bar) but the service was disappointing due to a rude bar staff person. Charged us twice the amount for my drink as she incorrectly brought me a drink that was not on their happy hour menu even though I ordered a specific drink from that menu. Staff person was very rude and said it was my fault that I should have caught the mistake myself before I drank it. Tried to get her to honor the happy hour price but nope. Asked for a manager and supposedly none were available. Left my phone and asked for a manager. No one ever called. Left messages on a special manager voice mail . No response. This must have been an unlucky night for us. We sampled 7 different dishes between the 5 of us and had 1 happy camper. If it weren't for the wine (Loveblock), we would have walked out. Lobster Mac n Cheese - missing lobster. Was told it was "shaved" so that's why we can't see it. That seemed strange. We bought two Mac n cheese dishes. They mistakenly brought the one with Lobster that was someone's entree was brought to the table as a side. And it came out before everything else was served. So it wound up being totally cold. Very strange. The setting was gorgeous. We were on the 2nd floor and could see the cruise ships docked. I would give it a 2nd chance, but I have no clue when we will make the trek all the way back to Key West. read more

We were looking for somewhere airconditioned that wasn't blaring loud (bad) music. Our meal was good but a little expensive. We paid $65 for a tuna salad with four tiny pieces of tuna and a bagatella (with 5 medium shrimp). The bagatella had good flavor. We didn't order drinks (not even iced tea) because it was hot out. They were out of the key lime martini so I went with the cucumber and it was very refreshing for a hot night. Lobster mac and cheese is the best I've ever had. SO good. Swordfish, very very good. Grouper was very good but the cream sauce was a little too heavy. I would suggest go lighter on the sauce so it doesn't weigh down the fish. Bananas foster brownie, devine. Great location on Duvall. House has a great story and history. But the food is the standout. We had breakfast/brunch there on two of our days. It was so good the first time, we just had to go back. First visit we had Corned Beef and Hash (the best hash I've ever had) and the Country Benedict with pulled pork on cornbread. Both delicious. On our second visit, we had the Trio Seafood Omlete and Crabcake Benedict. Again, they score another hit. We didn't get a chance to hit there for dinner, but definitely would if we had more time. I got up and got my own Tabasco sauce and water refill off of the server's station. The server then came by and asked if I would rather have Cholula sauce. I said I would so he took the tabasco sauce and never brought the Cholula. The fruit served wasn't ripe. The shrimp in the omelette tasted a little less than fresh and I did get sick a couple of hours later. We of course waited a long time before we flagged the server down to pay. We had the lobster Mac and cheese with bachumel sauce and it was a 10/10! The lobster was in every bite and the sauce stuck to the spiral noodle like it was holding on for dear life in the best way. The bar is small, but comfortable and classy. The espresso martini is the best one I've ever had. It's magic! Our server was the bartender and she made the perfect cocktail.
