Soft and fluffy bagels are the best and these guys have them! Service is always kind and quick, and the bobas are delicious! They also have breakfast sandwiches available all day which is a huge plus.

Great selection Services. Good, but a little bit slow but the reason I wouldn't recommend it. This is way overpriced. They charge me three bucks for a thing of cream cheese. See the picture.

This place was a waste of $50, I would recommend going elsewhere. I got a plain croissant and a ham and cheese croissant (they tasted stale and smelled rancid ), lox bagel, breakfast burrito, a Thai tea, and a blended coffee. I was going to get boba in my drink until I saw that they microwave the boba in a melted plastic container for several minutes. Food and drinks did not taste good. Staff was not rude, but also not good. Very poor communication all around between workers and a longer than expected wait time to gather all the food and drink. Place did not play music, and staff could have been friendlier and more efficient. There are better places in the area to get a quick and filling breakfast. Hope they can do better next time.

I can't believe how terrible the service is at The Bagel Bakery. The place is infested with flies, which should have been my first warning to leave. The staff clearly doesn't care about hygiene--several of them have long, oily hair hanging loose while they handle food. That's a blatant health violation! Our bagels were finished and sat on the counter for a good five minutes while the staff just stood around. There were four employees working and only six customers, yet no one bothered to give us our food. On top of that, the place is ridiculously overpriced for what you get, and it's so unorganized it's almost laughable. It's clear the staff is either incompetent or just doesn't care about their customers. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Head up the road to The Bagel Kitchen if you want decent service and food. This place is a total disappointment!

A locals favorite. Good selection of bagels and bagel creations. It's best to get here early before they start running out of everything.

Our kiddo got a sesame bagel with cream cheese and lox and loved it! I had a sesame bagel with egg, cheddar, crispy bacon (and it was crispy), and avocado. Even toasted it was still soft and fluffy enough. It has to be one of the best (if NOT the greatest) bagels I've ever had in my life. I'm definitely recommending this place. Also, the bottle of water I later got didn't seem to cost an arm and a leg, either. My husband did have and like the French toast coffee. Service seemed quick and they are very nice. They didn't mess anything up and they specifically only put the food items you ask for on the bagels. I've been other places where they put tons of pepper on my sandwiches and it's been impossible for me to eat and enjoy. They have ample seating inside with very soft music and a restroom for their customers. This establishment has drink coolers both behind and outside of the counters and screens up above to see all the items they have to choose from.

I tried their strawberry smoothie with Boba and plain bagel with cream cheese. The food was good, and service was fast. We ordered and iced and hot Mexican mochas and they were delicious! I appreciated them having decaf espresso as an option as well for those of us with caffeine sensitivity. Sometimes they've been lovely and bubbly, but for some reason this one blonde staff member never seems like she actually wants to help. I had some questions on summer specials since "refresher" doesn't tell me much and she kept telling me about other drinks instead and being super short. The whole interaction still only had to have taken 2 min with only one person (who had been there for a bit already and seems local/older) behind me. Yet the minute I paid, even though I apologized for the questions and tipped, she loudly and passive aggressively said "sorry for the wait" to the next person right in front of me and they both laughed right in front of my face. I read the other review of the person who said they'd been here a bunch and usually loved it and then had a bad interaction and are also not like the "usual" demo of PG - I am also a person of color who was made to feel the same way. Such a shame what one bad impression can leave. Multiple comments about this has to be more than a coincidence... I would come back only maybe if this person wasn't working but not going to go out of my way anymore

Very cool and hip cafe in old town Monterey. I think it is in a historic building as it totally…read morelooks like a Spanish Mission era type of building. Super open and airy, there's a separate room off to the side with some haphazardly laid out tables and seats. The main retail area is pretty busy with people lined up placing orders/waiting for an order, or people fixing up their coffee drinks. Now even though I took my goods to-go I had to go out to their patio to find a restroom. That outdoor area is totally cool, totally out in the open but you're like in a square inside a fort, surrounded by walls, so you can't see any street action. But you're totally open to roam in here from the street. Next time I'm in this area, I'm definitely gonna make time to chill on that patio. Cold Brew ($6.50/5*) Perfect to my taste, smooth and mellow on the roast. Pricey for a small cup but this is a touristy area. Banana Bread Slice ($5.25/4*) Very thick slice. Super soft yet moist in the center but firmer and more well done on the edges. Pretty dark in color, maybe some cocoa powder went in but there were also tiny hits of dark chocolate throughout. Mild natural banana flavor, wished it were stronger but that's me. Blue Corn Cookie ($5/5*) Never had a cookie like this before but I was pretty impressed. Kinda like a cornbread but made into the texture of a good cookie, so it was crisp and buttery on the bottom and moist and chewy in the center. All whilst having a pronounced corn meal flavor and texture. Major props for exposing me to something new that I enjoyed immensely. Went great with sips of black cold brew. Most other things in their pastry case seemed a tad fancier than most other regular coffee shops. I'm just glad I was able to run into and choose a more special cafe to end my beautiful trip out in the central coast.

We…read moremade it a point to come back the next morning and were actually the first people in line when they opened. Unfortunately, our experience didn't quite live up to our expectations. The biggest letdown was the service. The staff seemed irritated to be open, and not one person smiled or appeared welcoming throughout our visit. It wasn't rude, but it definitely didn't make for a great first impression. They have a great selection of baked goods, so we tried the blueberry muffin, donut holes, and chocolate croissant. The blueberry muffin was just okay--the oats on top weren't really my favorite. The donut holes were soft, fluffy, and generously coated in sugar, making them a solid choice. The chocolate croissant was easily the star of the meal. It was incredibly soft, buttery, and filled with perfectly gooey melted chocolate. I also ordered a latte, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. For breakfast, I had the smoked salmon toast. The salmon itself was delicious, but it was served on a very large slice of grain bread that didn't have much flavor, so the dish felt a little underwhelming overall. Looking back, I wish I had ordered the avocado toast instead. Overall, I can see why people stop by for the pastries--especially the chocolate croissant--but based on our experience, we left feeling a little disappointed considering all the buzz.
