The customer service is excellent! The vegetarian chili is amazing. Also the crumb cake coffee is great.

We recently ordered a platter of 4 salads ( white fish, smoked salmon, lite veggie tuna and egg salad) along with side salads ( bean salad, Mediterranean bow tie pasta and potato salad) for a family event. We also got assorted bagels to go with everything. It was all extremely fresh, very delicious and beyond plentiful. It was delivered exactly when we requested. Had the most excellent experience at bagel boss this morning. Not only was the employee who helped extremely personable and helpful, but he was well equipped with cheerful jokes that had us laughing until our departure. The bagels were supurb, and they even had veggie sausage and bacon which is not found at many bagel shops. 10/10 will return, not only for the bagels but for David's charming and cute personality that really brightened up our morning. Bagel Boss is back in business - same location, new building. On our Saturday morning visit, the bagels were solid, the fresh-sliced nova was solid, but the cupcake I got for baby was mediocre. We experienced friendly and efficient service in spite of crowds. read more

After trying every bagel place in the area, Bagel Boss is the clear winner. I should have known that from the start, growing up in Plainview and being accustomed to the Hicksville location's high quality. When the bagels are fresh, they're near perfect. The spreads are delicious, the staff is extremely patient and friendly. Only downside is the crappy parking in the front from the bro-mobiles driven by the Extreme Gym attendees. read more

Had Bagel Boss Merrick cater a small affair for a client. They LOVED the bagels and appetizing (and they are finicky Long Islanders). John, the owner, laid out all of my options and made ordering easy. I chose to order from them after enjoying two superb breakfasts. Flat bagels are great, and their cooked breakfasts (e.g. eggs and cheese) are excellent. Sorry I did not have the chance to run into the knuckle -ragging miscreant who posted a deranged rant on 9/7 (Glatt Kosher certified restaurants should start selling meat because Brock just crawled out of his mouse hole?) When visiting in early morning, you can smell the fresh bagels being made. Great tasting bagels which you can add an egg to or fresh varieties of cream cheese, lox, etc. They also have salads and specialized breakfasts to go. read more

This is the worst service I have ever received from a bagel place, considering that there is very little service to attend to when you have to serve your own coffee and are ordering from a counter!!! I ordered half a pound of vegetable tuna and was charged 9.24!!! This is extreme since most places are around $6! I did not notice the charge until I went to my car so I called to find our how much they charge and they said 7. When I went to ask why the charge was so high a man told was bc they gave me .66 of a pound. I don't recall asking for .66lb of tuna I asked for 1/2. And since when does .16lb of tuna equal $2!!!! I would like to know. If you live in Merrick I would stick to bagel plaza where there service is always outstanding!!! read more

The food is good standard bagel store fare. The customer service is horrible. While the female employees are sweet and efficient, the owners and the other males are too busy flirting with the female customers to get anyone else's order correct. One time I was standing around waiting for my wonder while the owner actually walked away and left my bagel burning in the toaster. Very unprofessional service. read more

I was there today about 1:00 pm, there was one other customer in front of me already being waited on. 3 other counter people standing around, I'm waiting about 2 minutes as the 3 employee's continued to talk bs with each other as though I wasn't even there. After about 4 minutes I said , "I guess you don't need my business" and started walking away. The guy that was helping the person in front of me had just finished with his customer and yelled out I'll take you now. I said, nah it's too late and walked out. Great bagel place in Merrick. They have great cream cheeses such as maple walnut and interesting bagel selections such as blueberry along with the standard classics. The bagels here are just the best even compared to NY bagelry standards. One of my favorites is to get a fried egg with provolone on a toasted pumpernickel bagel -Yum! read more

Besides the fact that their food is the best ever, the staff is friendly and organized. I called to place a delivery order to my friend's house for the following morning and they were extremely receptive to my needs and delivered everything I asked for, including the note I requested. I enjoy their iced coffee very much, but to be charged 3.99 vs 7.99 on a bagel is ABSURD. They are inconsistent with their prices, 8 times out of 10 get my order wrong, and serve just average bagels. Saving grace is 100% the coffee. read more
