This was my first time at Bagel Express. It was a Thursday at 9am. I ordered the 3 Egg omelet which came with toast and hash brown. I also ordered a salt bagel. Cusomer service was excellent. They open about 4am in the morning and my husband goes there when his schedule aligns with the timing and they have the most delicious bagels. I always get it with extra butter. When my husband brings the bagel home I put it in the microwave for 1 min. Just enough time to make the bagel soft and still have the butter on it but it's starting to melt. I absolutely love it. I frequently order thru the delivery apps from this place bc it's close to my home and I find that everything is tasty. Today I decided to physically go and I placed my order. The young lady who took care of me didn't put on gloves to grab my bagel. I asked for a TEC with lettuce, tomatoes & onions, SPK on an everything bagel with a small cappuccino to go. I got the bagel with no onions. And the cappuccino with my lid. I had to ask for a lid. The same hands she used for my bagel was the same one she used to take my cash. Gloves are crucial!!! Wow I just came back from this dump. Never again. I stopped by because I saw the sign "best coffee in town" (I know I know, it's my own fault for thinking such a dingy looking place actually delivered on that). I ordered breakfast along with the coffee. The woman gives me the scorching hot, flimsy Styrofoam cup and I open the top to let it cool off while I wait. After standing around for about 5 minutes, I decided to take my first sip. HOLY HELL. I now understand why that woman sued McDonald's. The lava liquid didn't even make it into my mouth (thank god for the idiotic flimsy container) before giving me a burn of a lifetime on my lip. I actually teared up from the pain. The best coffee in town caused me to have a pealing lip and a blister on my thumb. What the actual fuck? Best part, while I was quietly suffering and the woman gave me ice for my lip, she rang me up. She actually rang me up for that volcano eruption that caused tears of agony. Worst 1.50$ ever spent. I wasn't in the mood for an argument but I dually noted to never return and to make sure none of my friends come here either!:I don't appreciate bad business practices. I absolutely love the coffee here. Cappuccino is excellent too. I usually get a pumpernickle bagel with cream cheese. Always excellent. Just the right amount of cream cheese and love to have it toasted. Staff is friendly and always service with a smile. Frank is the best. Always saying hello with a smile on his face. Ordered Taylor ham egg and cheese on a plain bagel. I got a piece and a half of Taylor ham and what seemed to be maybe one egg. Not asking if the world here, but this sandwich was as light as it gets when it came to the contents of the sand which. Most places give you 2-4 slices of TH, couple eggs and some cheese. I ordered on Seamless and the order was prompt - less than an hour wait. Great! I thought. The egg bagels were messy but delicious. Everything that I ordered was honored. I got a chicken cutlet hero too so I wouldn't have to order lunch later and it was a great disappointment. LOADS of mayo were just smeared all over the hero, it was as if I asked them to douse the sandwich in mayo. The chicken was over-fried to the point where the meat was actually hardened. My bf always gets a Taylor ham and egg on a plain bagel with salt and pepper NO KETCHUP. and no they don't put ketchup, but they use the same knife they probably just cut 30 ketchup filled bagels with for his and there ends up being ketchup all over his bagel. That's disgusting and careless to not clean the knife after every cut. This is my go-to stop for bagels, breakfast sandwiches, cappuccino, and iced coffee since it's right around the corner from me. I order my bagels toasted and they come out perfectly on the outside and soft on the inside. I find the small iced coffee to be too small, which is unusual because I usually get jittery from mediums at other places. Here though, I opt for the medium. My only complaint is that my bf ordered a double shot of espresso and he was given a single shot. When we asked if they were sure it was a double they said it was and we were charged for the double. We couldn't imagine what a single shot would have been, only a couple of drips it looked like... We just don't order that anymore. Problem solved. The pricing is very reasonable. The other day I got 1 Everything bagel toasted with cream cheese, 1 Pumpernickel same way, 1 Cinnamon Raisin toasted with butter, 1 Medium iced Coffee, and 2 bottles of water. I loathe Bagel Express. I never understood the meaning of disappointment until I visited this bagel shop. They have failed to satisfy me on multiple visits. Over the years I have stopped here only because of their convenient location, each time hoping that they would improve. However each visit, they have only further enraged me. The staff is unpleasant to say the least, which probably stems from the owner being smart mouthed and sarcastic. Everytime I order a bagel, they "don't have it." Even going as far as to say they have never carried that bagel before--one which I was able to purchase on a previous visit. Whenever I have had the opportunity to actually purchase a bagel from this farce of a bagel shop, it has been stale, old, or just plain inedible. What they are passing off as "whole wheat" and "pumpernickel" bagels seem to be dirty "plain" bagels. Perhaps they don't realize that these bagels gain their names from the ingredients, not simply the color. Once I dared to order two regular coffees from Bagel Express. The owner sloppily poured them into a cup, failed to mix them, and then handed them to me in a paper bag. Not a tray to carry them in, a paper bag! Needless to say, the coffees spilled as I was organizing my belongings into the car. I will never return to this establishment again. If I could rate them negative stars, I would. Do not go here! Let me start off by saying I used to be a regular before the pandemic, their food is cheap but so is the quality. They do not use gloves or face masks while preparing your food, they allow customers in without face masks, and they allow the regulars to stay inside for hours at a time leaning on the counters with again, no face masks. This review is based on their delivery via GrubHub - not good. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches, 2 bagels with different cream cheeses and 2 just bagels. They were just... blah. Bread tasted like it was 5 days old, which I understand ordering it via delivery means it's not 100% fresh but I mean other bagel shops and I have never had this issue. The bagels we got without anything on them were hard as rocks within the hour. These are no NJ bagels, these tasted like imitation bagels from a foreign country... The delivery driver also got lost and thought the address wasn't on the paper - but it was... he's also been calling me multiple times since then and when I called back he said it was a mistake. I don't care if it was a mistake or not, if you're calling customers you should be clearing out your phone at the end of your shift. I shouldn't be getting calls from you twice in a row while in a meeting and other various times. I don't know guys, disappointing is an understatement. read more

Ordered a Taylor ham and egg sandwich. I really don't think you could call it a sandwich. It was one and a half (or so) pieces of ridiculously thin sliced Taylor ham. I mean it was sooo thin it only had 1 side, and one egg. That's it. The bagel was okay, not great but just okay. If you are going to charge what you charge for a sandwich it should be substantial.
