They serve udis gluten free bagels here and they have tates chocolate chip gluten free cookies. The staff is nice but i have also been going there for years now so they all know me. The glutenous bagels are really good too but obviously not as good as a hand rolled bagel but its the best your going to get in great neck. Not a lot of room to sit but there are a couple of spots its just very squished together and crowded since its not a big place. My co-worker lives in Great Neck and always brings in these bagels from Bagel Hut. I decided to give one a try. I had the sesame flagel with butter. I never am the type to get a flagel over a normal bagel but my co-worker insisted that they are very good. She wasn't wrong. Ended up having Bagel Hut over the weekend and got to try their lox and vegetable cream cheese. I don't live near Bagel Hut but decided to go out of my way, and in the rain too, to drive over there tonight. I drove over 30 minutes to get to bagel hut as I wanted to try them out and I also needed a few things for a meal tonight. I got there at 4:30 (just a few minutes ago) and to my surprise found that they are closed. Really not right to have it listed online and on their front door that they'd be open until 5 pm. I even tried giving them a call while standing outside of their location (in case there was someone in the back). No one answered and there was even no outgoing message set up. The least that there should be is a phone number that actually works with a way to leave a voicemail for the manager. Super disappointed and it's not right to post to customers that they'll be open when they aren't. read more

I have been living in GN for over 30yrs and for the past 6-12+ months or so I decided to try this bagel place for my go to bagels. Been going to someplace else & just wanted to try a new place that I might like better. The bagels are not bad and the ice coffees are pretty amazing, if it wasn't for that it will be a 1 Star. I have to admit I am big on customer service. Most of the time they get my order right, but for a simple 1 person order, they should get it right all of the time. The last straw was last week when the young girl took my order, she messed up on the bagel, then the coffee, then was rude about it when I asked for napkins. Also, she over charged but I didn't want to make a big deal about that also. It seems she has been working there for a long time, so I don't think she was new, she was just rude and seems she didn't care about anyone. It really affects your day when you have to deal with someone like that. Done with this place! If the owner is reading this, it's the young girl w the extra ear piercings, but reading the reviews here don't think anything is going to change. I went to college in a Boston suburb and legit asked my family to mail me frozen Bagel Hut bagels when I left. They just don't make 'em right in Boston. I am SUCH a picky bagel eater. I refuse to touch the round bread that Dunkin' calls "bagels." I didn't know what people from Berkeley were talking about when they called Noah's "the best bagels ever." I rarely call bread amazing. This is amazing. Bagels are the right balance of chewy and soft. Not too "bready" tasting, and they come out hot, so it melts your cream cheese a bit. Mmmm. Wonderful selection of flavors, and they have low-carb as well. On a diet? Low calorie cream cheese, tuna, whitefish salad, salmon salad, and more. Super fresh lox. My favorite rainbow cookies (yellow cake layered with raspberry jam) and black and white cookies are also found here. TIP: COUNT your change. The counter staff are not good mathematicians. read more

Recently we needed to cater a bris for my grandson. Having never done it I called bagel hut in great neck. The owner helped me plan and told me exactly what I needed for the number of people. He was on the approved vendors list for this venue and so it was a blind purchase. Steve,the boss, was wonderful. The food was delicious and plentiful. It was set up and cleaned up beautifully. This place has been around forever. Bagel Hut is literally a Great Neck institution. These days we order in sandwiches from BH for work lunches. They deliver in a Bagelmobile, which is pretty cool. The bagels are perfectly crispy on the outside, chewy in the middle. It's hard to top these doughy orbs. The turkey sandwiches are the shit. The black-and-white cookies ain't too bad either. Worst service ever. There's many people working here and no one seems to care to take your order unless you personally get their attention. They also all look fed up, might have to do with the terrible manager/owner also who does not care about customers at all and I have constantly seen arguing with customers in person and over the phone. I've been going to Bagel Hut since I was a kid and it was located down the street. It was more fun then since you could see the oven and watch them boil the bagels, put them on the boards and sprinkle salt, poppy seeds, garlic, onion or sesame seeds before putting them into the rotating oven. Warm in winter hot in summer! Its still good and I try and bring back bagels on every trip. Just came back with 3 dozen and I can't believe in all the reviews no one mentioned the twists. I've been coming to this bagel place for 15 years, but ever since one of their top employees either got fired or quit, they haven't been the same. The service is horrible unless the owner is in the store. There are maybe 10-12 people working behind the counter but I had to wait 15 minutes before someone helped me. Have been a customer for about ten years. The past year quality and customer service have declined dramatically. Now they are using deceptive business practices/pricing. Went to pay, should have been easy since all bagels including specialty ones are now $1 with the last price increase. The total was wrong. The counterperson told me that I had 3 rainbow bagels and they were specialty ones and were priced almost double! Not so funny thing is the menu board said specialty bagels were $1 and no other prices were posted anywhere in the store. Told him and he said he had to charge the price. Didnt take them. Also, weighed products are always 10-20% over the asked for quantity and NEVER do they ask if it is OK. Seems, especially since they bought a second store in town, no one cares except about the catering orders. Next week I stop a Bagel Boss in Lake Success. read more

The coffees are good, the lox is fresh, the cream cheeses varied and the muffins are great too. The one downside: its popularity.
