Do yourself a favor and ignore any negative reviews for Bagel Masters. Bagel Masters has been my families go to bagel shop for as long as they've been open. We have at least 10 bagel shops closer to home but drive up to Shrewsbury to get Bagel Masters because they are that good. The best bagels and breakfast sandwiches around. Are there busy? Hell yeah, but they are busy because they are the best. We know it's going to take a little while longer to get our food and we have no problem waiting. With the current covid situation they have moved to online or phone orders only and aren't currently excepting cash. I actually prefer this over waiting in line, even if that means it's gonna be a 45 minute wait. We plan ahead, order online from home then take our time heading to the shop. You're notified when your order is ready and they bring it right out to your car. Doesn't get much easier than that. If you want the best bagels in NJ made by the hardest working group of people, do yourself a favor and order from Bagel Masters. My daughter moved out of state a few years ago and always grabs a dozen bagels to bring home when she visits. The bagels hold up great in the freezer. Pre-slice them and put them in a zip lock bag then throw them in the toaster when you get the craving. The only problem with this bagel joint is that of attitude. God forbid if you're a girl or woman. The would-be Don Juans behind the counter (all of Latino ethnicity) blatantly flirt with all the young girls from the grade school nearby (ages 10 - 15) as well as with many other ladies aged 15 and up. Obviously a cultural thing; but nonetheless slimy. The owner really should instruct his crew to do 2 things............1) stop flirting with underage girls and of age girls............extremely unprofessional & inappropriate and 2) if they don't like their job and are unable to be happy while working there (see how many smiles you can count) and thus show proper appreciation to all of the clients; they should leave & worl elsewhere. Also............the boss seems to favor classic rock music (which is just fine & dandy).............but his aforementioned employees like to crank out Mexican tunes. Boss man; stick to what has inspired millions upon millions of Americans for over 50 years and maybe just maybe install some ceiling-mounted speakers in the dining area. Great bagels; but a lot of room for improvement with the staff & ambiance. And ps.......how 'bout replacing those gross-looking ceiling panels??!! read more

Bagelmaster is a very important part of my life. It was a safe haven for my children after their school, until I showed up from work. They even used their phone and restroom. They were aloud to eat and then when I arrived, would come out to get money. This is the way Bagelmasters roll. Not only the most fantastic bagels and Deli but an important part of our community. Now that my children are older I still love to come to Bagelmaster for a bagel still warm from the oven, my fruit cup and delicious mac salad. The workers all know most of us by our first name and keep the line moving... And of course you can always start a conversation because usually there is someone you know there! And where is the first place my children go when they get home from college? ... not my house but to a fun exciting place being welcomed home by the workers and by an awesome Bacon egg and cheese. How can I compact all the years and memories into a paragraph? I can only finish by saying that I am lucky to have this business in my town. Best bagels on the Jersey Shore. Scratch that.. best bagels anywhere. This is where it's at, people. A small, mom-and-pop business who pours their heart and soul into their business and their product. The bagels are amazing, the pork roll egg and cheese is to die for, and the selection can't be beat. Darren and crew have turned on a dime to keep our tummies full of bagels even during the worst of the pandemic. What was mainly a face-to-face business immediately evolved to contactless orders and payment and curbside pickup. We are weekly customers and the service has been excellent. Yes, when you place an order by phone there is an invisible line in front of you that will effect your wait time. These folks are busting their butts to give us the very best bagels and sandwiches in the safest manner possible for their customers and staff. read more

The best bagels around! The people are great, the online ordering is easy, and the bagels are ... delicious. Whether I'm getting a breakfast sandwich or just picking up a dozen bagels I won't shop anywhere else. The best or nothing! I highly recommend this place, on the way to the beach, after church, whenever you want your bagel fix... I never thought I'd "miss" the line out the door, which I do now...One day soon I hope we can get back to normal, drinking a cup of coffee while I wait for my food.... but in the meantime download the app, it is incredibly easy to order, tells you when to come over, and they run the food out to the car. The owner and staff are friendly, give speedy service with a smile, and their sandwiches and bagels are top notch using the best ingredients! I've lived in Mercer County for the past 3 years and no bagel out here comes close to theirs! I still get Bagel Masters bagels when I'm in their area. If there is a wait it's because people know they are the best! They are worth the drive and the wait! They also have bagel flavors that you will not find anywhere else! The customer service at Bagelmasters is unparalleled and it's a place where the staff know all the regulars and go out of their ways to greet everyone. Beyond the positive customer experience, especially during these uncertain times, the Bagelmasters staff is doing their best to adjust. The food is always consistent and they will always customize any sandwich or order. The bagels are amazing and they're offered at a fair price. My favorite bagel place! Best bagels in the state, hands down! Not only are the bagels perfect and delicious, but this place and its owner/staff are a neighborhood institution. I grew up coming to this shop and now that I've lived in Philadelphia for years, I still make sure to stop and grab bagels here when I'm back in town. I've lived in every borough of NY for most of my life so I know a good bagel and this place delivers. Never in my life would I have thought I'd ever love a bagel joint in NJ...but I do. They make excellent bagels and the service is great too. Given that there are so many of them in our area the line out the door on any given weekend morning is a sure fire indicator that this place is great! I stopped here weekly on my way into work. Their staff was so friendly and recognized me every time I came in, including ones that were not responsible for taking my order at the moment. They would even remember my order without me having to say it. They are great at making me feel like a valued customer even though I only ever get a bagel. And I've never had a bad bagel from there. Best bagels in town. I grew up on these bagels, and continue to return when I am in the area. I got my husband hooked as well. One of the best things about the small establishment, besides the delicious bagels, is the team of people that work there. They recognize you, they know you, and they always ask how you are doing, how your family and friends are.
