Garlic bagel Chili Crisp Cream Cheese
    Matthew H.

This is a bitter moment for me. Came here before the changed the name and had a great experience years ago and knew I had to stop in again under the "bagel miller" name. I went in and the cashier just stood there staring. Didn't offer any help, a greeting, nothing. Just stone faced and honestly very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I finally find the bagel board tucked behind the counter/glass and after trying to make a joke about my poor sight and the cashier still making everything extremely awkward I ordered a bagel With shmear and got out of there. She made it so weird I didn't even order a drink Or anything for the kids The bagel came out and I quickly got out of the store. Outside I unwrapped the bagel which looked appealing and a fair amount of chili crisp cream cheese on a garlic bagel. I took a picture to promote them and left. When I got to the car a block away I opened it and tasted it. The toast was good but the chili crisp cream cheese was extremely salty and unbearable. I forced down half the bagel while wiping half the cream cheese off but it was still just too salty. And since the cashier made it weird I didn't order a drink to rinse the salt down. I reached out directly explaining the situation and the owner confirmed "she's like that when she's tired" as if that makes it acceptable. Also stated they changed seasoning for the chili crisp cream cheese and never thought to taste the product before selling it. Every chef knows no matter what taste your food!!! So the final take was rude, unwelcoming, cashier, extremely salty unbearable bagel/schmear, and and owner who knows the problems are their and they dont taste "new recipes" before selling them. I'd say let this be a last resort consideration if even at all

Love their menu and variety where you can try something you can't get anywhere else. The chili crunch cream cheese was amazing. Limited seating is available and service is welcoming.

Came in directly for the strawberry matcha latte which was delicious, well prepared, and look how photogenic! Had nothing but great service and the inside looks super cute. There's a decent amount of tables to sit, eat, and work at. Will be back to try the bagels next!

The sausage, egg, and cheese sesame bagel sandwich, was good but nothing crazy. The strawberry matcha was very good. It took a while to get the sandwich.

Hipster atmosphere in this little bakery and cafe. It's one of the longtime popular places in Lincoln Square. Baker Miller has recently changed up concepts a bit. Featuring mostly bagels now and a few pastries. The prices are from okay to kind of high mostly. Bagels are the main thing ever since this place has gone through a change. It's now set up more like a deli. There's a menu of bagels and spreads. Also there's coffee. The spreads are usually cream cheese, and a few of these are vegan. Strangely enough, none of the bagels are. What are you going to put the vegan cream cheese on then? Anyway they have a few vegan cookies. It's about $3 each. They had a Black & White one. Liked the frosting on it especially. There's a few other things on the menu such as pasta salad. For sure it's good to support a local business. It would help if they fixed a few things about it. Things like how about getting some more bagels because that supposedly is the main thing.

Plenty off bacon, but was not expecting scrambled eggs.

Well I'll start off by saying the bagel was delicious. Happy with that. But for 2 bagels and a black coffee, $25 seems a little steep for me. Not crazy, but a little expensive. Only issue with the bagel, called classic egg, however it was scrambled and mixed with milk. My wife was not able to eat hers because of the lactose. I would expect a fried egg, disappointed in that.

WOAH these bagels were huge. We got the Big Exed which had everything you could possibly want for breakfast including egg, melted cheese, giardinera cream cheese, bacon, and a ton of pastrami. The menu had many other options as well that we are excited to try in the future. The inside of the shop was super cute and decorated in a fun, hip way. The reason why I'm giving 4 stars is the price and proportions. The bagel was about $16 which I think is wayyy overpriced, I guess they try to offset it by putting so much ingredients into the bagel in which case you will barely finish it or just feel super full for the rest of the day. It's also kind of hard to take half home because of how messy/greasy they get (at least for the one we got). I would prefer the price to be lower and have a smaller portion while not feeling like I'm going to explode after eating one bagel. If ordering with a friend I would definitely suggest splitting just one. Overall this place is worth a visit and we plan to come back soon.

Northsider Sandwich with Ham....not what I ordered. Complete waste of time & money.

Is the outdoor patio pet friendly?

Not sure. The patio is only accessible through restaurant so you might not be able to walk through. Not sure if they have other tables out front in the summer.

The food was amazing. We got the "frychos" which were like loaded fries and it was the probably one of the most flavorful and fun vegan dishes I've ever had. Ofc we also had to get the vegan deep dish and it was also really good. Since we were the only ones there we chatted quite a bit with the bartender and he was super friendly. We ended up putting a movie on the bar tv and watching that while we ate. They also had boardgames and free pinball and we played battleship while waiting for our pizza. If you have the chance to check this place out, you definitely should!! The bartender said they were usually busier because it's also a concert venue, but it was a nice day so we think people were going places they could eat outside. But quiet or hoppin this place would be an 11/10! :)

Update from 4/28/2025 review, The Geo ?? had the most piss poor attitude from the beginning of my 1st transaction to this one. He started to gaslighting me that i was arguing(trying to make a scene)when I attempted to educate him on the reward program. I really kinda like a few things I On my 1st visit before I left the drink, I forgot to alert him that I wanted light ice so My drink, he mumbled that all he could do was pour out some of the ice. So that was very cold of him. He was rushing for no reason. I also witnessed the same crappy service without another young lady, maybe some woman hurt him, and he's taking it out on us women :( The service is a concern it makes the entire experience extremely cold and not worth the overpriced items. The only dessert they have is the cookie Everything else tastes like big ass globs of peanut butter. Yuck. Not sure how you're still open. People must be really desperate. I am retiring from this place. I would prefer Visiting "My Pie" Visit date 4/26/25 Saturday

The chicken was delicious and the pancakes were out of this world. Similar to some of the other comments, it would be nice to first come in, sit down, get relax then have someone take your order when dining in. However you place your order at the front door and then can sit down. The customer service lacked tremendously from the youthful stuff(late teens/very early 20's) But I will say the most underwhelming thing about this experience was the building. Inside & out it was very primitive & just flat out old. I know they just moved from another location and looking to get their foot in the door. But hopefully a renovation is in the plans. The inside is a bit of an eye soar. Needless to say, I would come back if in the area because of the food. But I wouldn't go out of my way patronize them.

I mean, I really do try to stay up on the best restaurants in Chicago but I NEVER heard of it. When I reached out to a friend who is a popular food influencer , he never heard of it either, so we immediately made a date. My friend dropped me off at Daisies on a Tuesday evening, while he looked for a park. When I walked in, the ambience was so electric and enticing I just knew we were in for a treat. I couldn't believe how packed it was for a Tuesday, and when I was shown right to my table by the friendly hostess, I was even more impressed. When my date came in, our waitress appeared. She was beautiful, friendly and ready to show us a great time. She gave us the menu run-down, readily answered our questions and got the show on the road. For a cocktail, I ordered the Sour, in the Green, a delightful and refreshing blend of mezcal, soka, green strawberries and tarragon. My date, a beer lover, ordered the Moody Tongue pilsner and Spiteful IPA, which he loved. For apps, I was told the house-made ruffles with onion dip were a must-have but she said, unfortunately, they were out. Awww, bummer! However, she appeared moments later and said she was able to secure the VERY LAST ORDER just for us. Game? Who knows, but when that order was placed in front of us and we dove in, and were more than satisfied. Our other app were the delicious potted carrots...a puréed delight containing pickled carrots, duck fat, and gnoccho fritto. Yum! As for entrees, I ALMOST went with the duck bolognese but when she described it as an elevated Hamburger Helper, I quickly declined. I haven't made HH since...EVER, so I wasn't about to order it on a rare night out with an amazingly handsome man, so I went with the lamb sugo. And it was all that. He ordered rigatoni and let's just say it was out of this world. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. Service was on-point and everything one could want in a date night. I pride myself on choosing great restaurants and that's why I rarely leave bad reviews. Daisies lived up to its hype and I can't wait to go back!

The potato chips the dip came with were massive, fantastic, ruffle cut slices. Dip was good, trout roe ($18) gave it that extra pop of flavor. Our favorite dish of the night was definitely the beef tongue, so tender and balanced with textures and acidity. Mains were: Pappardelle (mushroom and carrot ragu) - I liked this best out of the three pastas, pasta was very tender. Cappelletti (beef, celery root fonduta) - felt a little under al dente in the sections where it was pasta pressed against pasta. The beef filling was on the average side, a simple, braised beef. Strozzapreti (duck bolognese + parm reggiano) - pasta was cooked perfectly, but the sauce leaned salty. Our half chicken arrived once we were finishing the pastas. Juicy and tender, with the fat/skin rendered out nicely. The sauce was good, but felt the chicken itself was lacking seasoning/flavor. The remaining duck ragu came in handy for extra saltiness. Finished the meal with the terrazzo cheesecake, and gelato scoop trio (roasted vanilla, peanut butter cookie dough brownie, and frutti di bosco sorbet). Cheesecake was light and wiggly, definitely contained some gelatin and cubes of strawberry jello; not too sweet. I enjoyed the peanut butter gelato the most, was very tasty mixed with the sorbet to make a little pb and j concoction. They also gave a little slice of chocolate cake as we were there for a celebration. Overall, appetizers were a hit, with the dessert coming in second, and entrees following thereafter. Was ~$240 w the included 25% service fee between 3 people. The food feels like 3.5 stars as the food was inconsistently good across courses, but the service/ambiance pushes it to a 4. Worth a try if you can get a reservation.
