We do not recommend. We stopped by and bought a bagel dog for our daughter, it was bad! Chewy and elastic un eatable! I saw him warm it up, placed jt in the microwave no container or paper just threw it on the microwave plate and then he put it on the grill . Paid 8$ to throw it away super disappointing. This place was extremely disappointing. The person helping customers (who may have been the owner) was discourteous and unprofessional. While I was waiting in line, I was asked to step aside so another customer behind me could be helped frst. After reading reviews, I noticed that several people described similar experiences. We decided to leave and went to the Posh Bagel on the same street instead. The difference was incredible. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bagels we purchased were fresh and yummy. I'm going to give them a solid 3 here. It's somewhere I'd go again simply because they got the job done for me. The bagel was decent, seemed like they were almost undercooked. The bacon and eggs were solid. The cheese was probably a bit overwhelming in this one. The place is a pretty standard bagel shop. We went here since it was the highest rated in the Menlo Park area. We had a quick but pleasant experience here. We needing a quick bite of food for the fam with very little time and got exactly that. Check to see if they have any seasonal bagels because the pumpkin ones looked amazing. Wish we saw them before we paid. Bagels were fresh, options were plentiful, the service was friendly and quick. They serve coffee, bagels, bagel sandwiches, actual sandwiches, some limited pastries, and more. They had a really impressive assortment of bagels! FOOD: I got the bagel sandwich with egg and sausage on any bagel of my choice. I chose the pesto bagel and the combination of everything together was amazing. I would highly recommend. My friend loved her pesto bagel with the vegetarian egg filling. SERVICE: The people who served us from behind the counter seemed really nice! They were patient and handed us our food with a smile. We both ordered the breakfast bagel - egg, cheese and your choice of meat (bacon for the both of us) + my husband added avocado to his. Plenty of options for the bagel - asiago for us. We also got an Izzie and it was around $20 dollars total. We sat outside on one of their two tables. The other was taken. I've been to Bagel Street many times, usually on a weekend morning. The bagels are the BEST around! You'd have to go to New York to get bagels like these! Always fresh , the only way to have a bagel, but I always bring some home to freeze in individual ziplocs. They keep exceptionally well that way, just defrost rm temp, when you are ready to have one. There isn't any place in the Bay Area that makes bagels like these, soft on the inside and a great chewy crust. Perfection!! The service has always been quick and efficient, prices great and customer friendly. They have a huge variety of flavors from pesto to dried tomato, cheese, poppyseed, sesame seed, raison, and homemade cream cheese shmeers along with a good selection of bottled drinks in a glass door fridge , hot coffee (not the best, always dark roast). Most people who go there are local folks and are consistent return customers, which should tell you something. It has the look & feel of a favorite "mom & pop shop," but there are about a dozen around the Bay Area, not necessarily as good. (I didn't care for the one near Apple) The prices are very reasonable, but with a shaky economy going on, we have to be prepared for prices going up, through no fault of the Bagel Shop owners. read more

Tasty bagel sandwich but unfortunately they intentionally up/overcharged by ~1.3X. I saw the price I was expecting on the register and then noticed he quickly keyed in a higher amount. I asked if there was a cc/Apple Pay charge and he said no; only for $3 and under bills. And he proceeded to charge me the higher amount and clearly didn't intend to give me the receipt. I asked for it and then looked at it and compared to the price on the menu for a couple minutes. I then asked him why the price was higher than what's listed and he didn't have or provide an explanation. He proceeded to give me back the difference in cash rather than refund via original form of payment. Unfortunately this intentional dishonesty makes me not want to return or recommend this place despite the bagel sandwich being tasty and quickly made to order. read more

They make your sandwich on the spot, so you might have to wait a few minutes for it to be ready. Even the plain + cream cheese is delicious and comes with just the right amount of extra cream cheese to bagel ratio :) Price is on par with most bagel/breakfast places, and they even take Apple Pay! Street parking out front or in nearby lots (per the downtown rule, its 3 hour public parking), but it fills up pretty quickly. Tried this place on a Wednesday around 12:30pm since it's near my work and I needed something quick and relatively inexpensive. Parking in this area can be terrible. A lot of parking is free, but good luck finding a spot during regular lunch hours. Employee recommended the roll for my sandwich, which was 50 cents extra but totally worth it. I ordered the chicken salad bagel roll sandwich and it was a pretty hefty portion for 6.50. A little too much pickle in my opinion, but that could just be me. The bread portion was toasted and deliciously crisp, adding great texture. They did not skimp on fillings which is often a problem with bagel sandwiches. Service was genial and quick. I only ate half my sandwich before I had to head back to work, but the other half kept well when I ate it around 6pm. This may become a regular spot for me for lunch breaks! read more

Used to be a fan. Not so much anymore. The owner is not nearly as friendly as he used to be, and frankly the portions of filling to bagel are getting so skimpy, it's almost a "why bother" situation. For $3.50, I would expect more than a tablespoon or so of cream cheese. And the lox spread is chunky in a bad way - full of sinew and huge chunks of lox that are impossible to chew. Yuck. There is one staff member there, Leslie, who is a delight and I think most people come routinely in the mornings to see her. They've lost their mojo. Bummer. read more

Just came back from a bagel run and had one of my worst experiences here. First, the guy who helped me tried to charge me sales taxes for whole bagels, not sliced and not schmeared (although that wouldn't even make a difference in CA). Yesterday, I had a bagel sandwich consisting of a sesame bagel, humus, and "everything" on it. It was a light super-tasty lunch. They have outside and inside seating, all low-key and comfortable.
