I've been wanting to try Boichik Bagels!! I don't visit this area often, so I was excited when my friend sent me info on Phin Bar's pop-up at Boichik :) There is no space indoors for seating, but there's plenty of outdoor seating and plaza parking. My friend ordered the Classic (which is the...classic...lox bagel ha! $16) and I ordered the daily special which was tuna ($15). SO excellent and satisfying I tell you. We ate it at 9:00am and I wasn't hungry until 3:00pm lol. My bagel had Alfredo cream cheese which is just crazy??? It's messy to bite into as expected but it did not deter us from enjoying :) Upon ordering, be ready with the type of bagel you want and toasted or untoasted. Service was speedy and they call your name when it's ready for you to pick up at the counter. I can't wait to come back for a build-your-own!
Been here so many times and decided it was time for a review. The bagels are really tasty, with lots of flavor. They also offer a good variety of both bagels and cream cheese. I do wish that bagels were a little softer. The workers are always kind and service is pretty quick. The inside is small, but lots of tables outside. Pet friendly and plenty of vegetarian options If you're lucky you'll get to come here on a day when Ujicha is popped up!
Chef's kiss for this bagel and cream cheese. Got the everything bagel with the seasonal spring cream cheese and it did not disappoint. The bagel itself was so fresh and the perfect texture, the cream cheese was so flavorful and they DO NOT skimp. Also got an iced matcha which was delicious!! Lots of outdoor seating and they even have Bocce you can borrow.
OMG I'm in LOVE with the egg salad + avocado + tomato + cucumber! Add a flavored cold brew iced tea and you've got my heart. I'm still searching for my favorite bagel from here tho. I've had pumperthingle, everything, salt & pepper, and garlic. All the ones with flaky sea salt were too salty for me. Maybe I'll get original pumpernickel next? As a Californian, make sure to get your bagel toasted! I learned that the hard way. These NY style bagels are very dense. My first visit was almost two years ago, early January 2024? I'm glad I gave Boichik another chance. I called to see what the iced tea flavor of the day was. The employee on the phone was so nice and courteous! She informed me it was Wild Strawberry. I just had Guava from Los Gatos a week prior and it was good (I also love guava flavor). Strawberry was so refreshing and lightly sweetened. Very pretty color gradient too. I was able to snag a round Challah bread to take home on the last day they sold it. Their version is so soft and sweet. Reminds me of Filipino monay bread. I added some organic Clover butter. This location has a high ceiling, light and airy with natural sunlight from the floor to ceiling windows. Very inviting and staff is great! I gotta try the whitefish salad soon with heirloom tomato & cucumber (The Mensch), maybe on a garlic bagel.
My favorite bagel spot exits in Oakland. But, I'm not always ready to drive to the East Bay just to make sure I get my favorite carb fix. On those days, I still need a yummy bagel that leaves me satisfied, and this is a job for Boichik! When I'm feeling adventurous, I'll try the sandwich of the day, or the seasonal smear. And when I want my regular, it's the Pumperthingle Classic toasted. And this location is really nice! It's got bocce available, lots of outdoor seating, friendly workers with gorgeous freckles that always have a kind word to share. It's also queer inclusive. We love this!
We just noticed that there was a Boichik Bagel in Santa Clara! We ordered the "build your own bagel", which allowed you to choose the bagel, spread, protein, and veggies. We got a Poppy bagel with Lox and a sesame bagel with egg salad. They gave us a very generous portion of cream cheese! You can't go wrong with Lox in a bagel. The egg salad was better than my expectation. It was creamy and came well with the cream cheese. The store was located in a plaza near an industrial area in Santa Clara. There were a lot of parking spaces and some outdoor seating. There was a long line when we arrived on Sunday around lunch time. Will definitely come back for more bagels :)
A solid NYC-style bagel! They have a variety of bagels, schmears, and the cutest collection of merch! I went with their daily special (which is subject to change!) on a Garlic Bagel. On the day of my visit, the daily special consisted of picked red onions, tomatoes, capers, and chive cream cheese. Super refreshing yet filling! The bagel was on the doughier side, but paired perfectly with the creamy schmear. I will say that they go pretty heavy on the cream cheese, but I'm not complaining!
First time ordering a bagel sandwich at Boichik Bagels. I decided to go with the daily special, which was Lox cream cheese, sprouts, cucumbers, and red onions on an Eggything bagel. This came out to $8.75 total. While there was a bit too much cream cheese for my liking, I enjoyed the classic lox flavor with vegetables. It was my first time trying an egg-based bagel - it wasn't overly "eggy", and the only difference compared to a regular bagel is that the eggs made it a bit denser. This is definitely filling so I would recommend sharing any of these bagel sandwiches that are more substantial with multiple toppings.
Came here on a Sunday morning and decided to get the Everything Bagel with Lox Cream Cheese. The bagel was more on the doughy side and quite filling. The lox cream cheese was delicious and there was a good amount of it on the bagel. Definitely felt full after eating it. There was a small bit of egg on the side of my bagel, so there may be a bit of cross contamination.
There is no consistency with this location. I've visited this place two additional times now. The first time my bagel sandwich was burnt. I mean complete black, someone burnt the bagel and still decided to spread cream cheese on it as if the customer wouldn't notice. My second visit, I ordered a few bagels for friends. We wanted to taste their various flavors. I ask that the bagels be cut twice so we can all share. The customer service rep asked the manager and they said, no. The only cut the bagels once. I thought my request was very simple. We were headed someone where we didn't have a sharp knife. A simple gesture of cutting the bagels for us would have been nice. But I think it was too much of a heavy lift for a place that only sells bagels. All in all, just find another location to visit. I will just go back to House of Bagels at this point. It's not worth it any longer.
I've never had a pizza bagel and it did not disappoint! I liked how the cheese wasn't overpowering and that there wasn't much pepperoni because it tends to get oily. The Nova Lox was superb, they are so generous with the amount of salmon!
Generally most bakeries do not have gluten free options and I was pleasantly surprised that this bagel shop does have a gluten free bagel. I order a gluten free bagel toasted with vegan chive cream cheese and nova lox. It took a few minutes since there were orders ahead of me. It has a generous amount of cream cheese and the nova lox was delicious. Highly recommended for those who missed having a good (not store bought) bagel.
I was so excited to finally try Boichik Bagels! As a New Yorker, I've been on the hunt for the best bagels in the Bay Area, which has mostly been unsuccessful. Boichik is definitely the closest I've found! We visited the Santa Clara location on a Saturday (late) morning. There was a line out the door, but it moved relatively quickly. The interior was small and most of the seating was outside on the (dog friendly) patio. My roommate and I ordered two bagels to share - the Classic on an Eggything Bagel and a Salt Bagel with Green Garlic Cream Cheese and Avocado. I also got a Yuzu Pineapple Iced Tea. Service was not very fast, which was understandable because they were slammed. But all our items were awesome! The Yuzu Pineapple Iced Tea was refreshing and not too sweet. The Classic was not quite the bagel I was used to in New York, but it came pretty damn close! I especially loved the lox - not too salty. The Salt Bagel with Green Garlic Cream Cheese and Avocado was also delicious. That spread was a special, so I don't think it's usually available, but I hope to encounter it again. Overall, big fan of Boichik - would return for more! (Extra points for the free treat they gave my dog - so sweet!)
I truly believe the best bagels are in New York. With that said, Boichik actually hits the spot but I'm not sure how to compare it against other Bay Area bagel joints... (they all taste the same). The difference here seems to be the quality ingredients that go into the bagel sandwiches. I recently ordered the tomato with the New York cream cheese (it's on the tangier side which I enjoy) and avocado. It was delicious and had the right amount of ingredients. The service, however, is extremely slow. I'm not sure why it takes over 15 minutes to get a bagel with some cream cheese and toppings (this is where I throw in New York does it better). The seating is limited. With all the space outside, you'd think they would add some more tables. read more
Boichik is a Berkeley-based operation with locations throughout Northern California. Dough production is centralized but local, not frozen and shipped across the country, and I think that makes a difference. The Santa Clara shop is minimalistic and utilitarian, with a large open bakery and racks of bagels everywhere. Despite the pizza bagels and $6 iced matcha lattes, it feels like a real bagel shop. Service is efficient, and you can place an order and be out the door in five minutes. Most importantly, the bagels have holes, crust and chew. The exterior is glossy and properly browned, the crumb is tight and substantial, and they're generous with the schmear. This is not a giant, pale, puffy roll covered with bagel seasoning. I asked for a well-done bagel and was offered one double-toasted. "No! When was it baked?" "Like two hours ago." "Then just cut it in half, my God." The drip coffee is proper drip coffee, too. No espresso-machine nonsense. The bad news is the price. Bagels are $3.25 each, with every twelfth bagel free, and chive cream cheese adds another $2.50. Very good, but at that price it would be an occasional single-bagel treat rather than a regular dozen-bagel order. read more
Anyone who knows me, knows I rave about Boichick. I've been to the Berkeley location and this one. I prefer this one because they have seating and the service at this location has always been friendlier. They even give my dog treats! But yeah I'd eat here everyday if I could. Love their bagels! The best new york style bagels in bay area. They have seasonal cream cheese rotations too. My most fav is their pumpernickel bagel. Lots of outdoor seating at this location in SC, they have ADA parking as well. read more

Ventured in to Boichik on a recent Saturday morning and was greeted by a small line snaking out the front door around 10AM. I kinda low key really dig this shopping center (kinda a weird thing to be into I guess). It's sorta in a no where pocket north of the airport and south and of Levi's stadium surrounded by office parks and industrial spaces across San Thomas. My friends and I affectionately call it, "The Outpost." But, I digress! I had the lox bagel at $16 and you know what, it was fine. Not mind melting but fine. It was certainly hefty and had a fair amount of lox, schmear, tomatoes, capers etc. I think what made it very middling was the fact that the constituent parts were not seasoned. I didn't get a strong salty or smoky flavors from the lox and the tomatoes were not seasoned. I was surprised at the lack of punchy flavors. Also, I have always felt a lox bagel is best served open faced as it showcases the ingredients and makes it easier to eat. I get this preparation would be a logistical nightmare for a grab and go spot. But, trying to eat a thick sandwich with soft creamcheese in the middle is almost impossible. Another word about the cream cheese, there was a lot but it was fairly flavorless. I believe the cream cheese is whipped which may account for the lack of punchy cheese flavors. I had the lox on the everything bagel which was the standout. Great chew, well baked, awesome seasoning and just a pleasant bite overall. The bagel was truly the saving grace and this IS a bagel spot so I have no qualms about pushing the stars up to 4. I took home another everything bagel and a pumpernickel and raisin. They were both SOLID and paired well with the brick of Philadelphia cream cheese I had in my fridge. Finally, I humbly recommend taking your bagel to the Starbucks in this shopping center. I truly believe it has the best seating of any Starbucks in the South Bay. They have a lot of comfy spaces and tons of large outdoor seats. I grabbed a blonde roast and had my lox and a coffee while people watching. Really not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning. I will venture back to, "The Outpost" soon... read more
Best bagels in the Bay! If you're craving that heavenly chewy texture of a plump voluptuous bagel then this is the spot. On my most recent visit, I got a poppy bagel with Horseradish Cheddar Scallion Cream Cheese. That generous sprinkle of little poppy seeds tickles your tongue with the perfect textural touch, while the bagel itself gives you that lustfully chewy bite and doughiness. They also slather that bagel up good with a heavy load of cream cheese -- it fills up the bagel hole and the cream cheese layer cross section is as thick as the bagel! The HORSEradish cream cheese has a mild kick and I like the little cheddar pieces inside, it's good enough to make me neigh in pleasure! I've also gotten the Classic before, definitely ask for light cream cheese. The smoked salmon they use is also a tad bit fishy. I will say that the bagels here are just slightly not as chewy as the ones at the factory location in Berkeley on Gilman -- I used to go there every week and the bagels are noticeably fresher. This location is in a plaza with plenty of parking. There's also a good amount of outdoor seating next to some nice landscaped plants. read more
Nice calm bagel shop with modern / classy decor and yummy bagel sandwiches!! They put a HEFTY amount of cream cheese in the sandwiches but it's not too overpowering! The bagel bread is in the harder side so it has a bit of extra chew. They also let you customize the bagel if you're particular about how you like your sandwiches to be. Love stopping by here before work in the morning! The step-by-step customization to make your own bagel is very convenient and nice to have. The egg salad will always be my go-to! The location is very nice here and the service is good! There's also a lot of seating outside and parking available. read more
I tried the Palo Alto location once and wasn't impressed with The Classic, mostly because it was too heavy on the cream cheese and also came with a rotten brown tomato. I was excited to try this location to give it another shot. I got an eggything bagel with lox spread, cucumbers, and red onions. Eggything bagel didn't really taste different from a regular everything bagel. Lox spread wasn't bad. Went well with cucumbers and red onions. Overall it just didn't really stand out to me again given the hype. Plenty of parking in the lot. Two benches inside to wait for bagels but not really an indoor sit down spot. Absolutely disgusting experience. I ordered 3 bagels to go, and when I got into my car to eat, I found an insect embedded right in the sandwich. When I went back inside to quietly report this health hazard, the supervisor, Mckienzee, was incredibly combative and rude. Instead of apologizing, she kept cutting me off, claimed she "made it herself," and aggressively told me to leave and "denied me service"--when I was literally just trying to return contaminated food! She also refused to let me speak to a manager, claiming they were out of town for a week and a half. I got my money back, but a refund doesn't make up for serving bugs or treating customers like garbage. I've already filed an official report with the Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health. See the attached photos for exactly what they are serving here. Stay away! UPDATE: After leaving the store, I sent an email to corporate with photos of the insect (WhatsApp Image 2026-06-15 at 10.41.28 AM.jpeg). Both the CEO and COO reached out almost instantly. They were completely appalled by both the food contamination and the supervisor's behavior. They took full accountability, offered a sincere apology, and are actively correcting the issues at this location. It is incredibly rare to see owners care this much and act this fast. The store staff gets 0 stars, but the executive team gets 5 stars for stepping in and making it right. read more

For some reason I never tried these bagels when I was a student at Berkeley but happy to report there are several South Bay locations so you can assess the hype. You have the option to create a customized bagel with spreads and toppings, or choose from "the classic" or daily special. I got overwhelmed with decision fatigue so I got "the classic" (chive cream cheese, lox, tomato, capers) on a pumpernickel bagel. The toppings were generously applied and the bagel was hefty. I'm not sure how they compare to true New York bagels (as the original NYT feature claimed) but it was yummy! I got the classic bagel, which is basically a salmon lox bagel, on an everything egg bagel. I asked for light cream cheese, but it still came with a pretty thick layer. I couldn't really taste the egg flavor, but the bagel itself was still really good. They did add a bit too much red onion for my liking since some bites were a little overpowering. Overall, a solid bagel spot and I'd come back if I was in the area. read more
Stopped by here as I was heading to Mendocino Farms for a salad and was intrigued by the cute storefront and I love bagels!!! I ordered the garlic bagel with chive cream cheese and it came out pretty quick. I loved the little garlic pieces on the bagel but I thought the bagel itself was too thick for my liking. I usually prefer a slightly thinner bagel so it's easier to eat and the ratio to cream cheese is better. I liked how creamy the cream cheese was though. There's some seating spots outside of the store as well and the store setup was nice. In my opinion I prefer house of bagels but you should try this place if you like more bagel ratio. read more

The bagels are good but I don't think it's much different from other bagel places. I got the cinnamon raisin bagel w/ plain cream cheese. Bagel had a good texture, cream cheese was fine. They give you a looot of cream cheese which I appreciate. I wish they had sweeter options like strawberry or blueberry cream cheese. Wait time is rough. We ordered inside with only one person in front of us and waited probably 20 minutes to get the bagels. It was a Sunday so they were probably understaffed. Nevertheless expect a long wait or order online for pickup. read more
Boichik's a nice addition to the bagel scene. Chewier Jewish style with a fair amount of options and a more than generous serving of cream cheese. Some might say too much, but if you're gonna bring it home you can scrape the excess and have yourself a side for your other plain bagels. Interior is cute and modern with great lighting from the huge windows, service has always been friendly and quick, I've never been unhappy with an order. My favorite bagels are the everything and the sesame bagels. Wish they had cheesier bagel options. Go-to order is The Classic lox bagel sandwich on an everything bagel, no tomatoes. Sometimes I'll sub in lox spread. Definitely pricy for what it is and quite frankly House of Bagels on East San Carlos is a better option for me. Overall, not a bad grab-and-go lunch place and I'm happy Santa Clara has more interesting options outside of the run-of-the-mill bagel shops. read more

My friend and I stopped by Boichik Bagels right after getting off our flight because we needed breakfast, and this place did not disappoint. It was our first time here, and the guy at the register was incredibly welcoming. He walked us through the menu and even offered samples of their cream cheese flavors, which was such a nice touch. We ended up ordering the Classic with their seasonal cream cheese, and wow... it was amazing. The portions were perfect--every topping, even the lox, was generous without being overwhelming. I was full after just half a bagel! Honestly, I wish we had a Boichik in LA. Highly recommend! read more

New York Style Bagels! Lathered in cream cheese, this was so good. I would say it's more on the pricey side for a bagel sandwich. But, they tend to always have a matcha pop up collab with Ujicha. So, both pair really well with one another. I got their Lox and they don't give you a lot of lox either. The bagel in itself is good, but maybe you should stick to bagel and cream cheese here! read more
Honestly this bagel shop is absolutely ridiculous. The cashier was not very kind, and honestly felt like she was insulting me. I asked if they could scoop out my bagel and she said no. She said it's "against company policy" which honestly doesn't make sense to me at all. When I asked why they can't, she said it ruins the integrity of the bagel. This is completely the choice of the customer to make and for a cashier or supposedly the company to make is ridiculous to me as it is a simple task and ask. Also I got their choco malt which is their specialty drink and it is DISGUSTING. The worst thing I have put in my mouth. The aftertaste is horrible. Also note they don't have almond milk either. Overall this place is NOT accommodating at all. Their bagel itself is pretty good, but not worth the rude staff you will have to encounter. Giving three stars for taste of bagel, but if rated on poltieness, accommodation of staff, and coffee I would give it a -10. read more
