The convenience of this location for me means that I keep going back, but the experiences could be better. Service for sandwiches is still pretty slow, and since there's usually only one person making them, if you go in with a friend or a small group you could wait a while. I finally got around to trying the fruit-flavored cream cheese, which was a tremendous disappointment. It tasted neither fruity nor sweet; basically the flavor was that or regular cream cheese, but the additional cost for the fruit was pretty outrageous. Their display case of ingredients for sandwiches and salads sometimes looks like the foods aren't getting much turnover. I saw some rather brown broccoli today and some bleu cheese crumbles that looked like they had seen better days... many, many days ago. Definitely not appetizing. The store is also beginning to stock a selection of European snacks, including a lot of delicious chocolates, but they are very pricey and I can't see them flying off the shelves. Bagel Tree is still my preferred stop for some decent deli food in East Harlem, but I think it's not living up to its potential. read more

My daughter enjoys the fresh bagels and breakfast sandwiches. The gentlemen that prepare the food are so amazingly friendly and courteous. However, I can't say the same about one of the ladies that works at the register and prepares the beverages. If it wasn't because my daughter is such a picky eater I would've stopped coming here a long time ago. It's sad that the friendly and courteous ways from the gentlemen doesn't carry over to the ladies. read more

I can't rave about this place enough!!! i called in a large breakfast order yesterday to be delivered today. Spoke to Billy (who is amazing!!!) and gave him a rather difficult order and he wrote everything down. Well today we received everything perfectly organized!! i'm amazed. They labeled everything with the names i gave and the order was 100% correct. The food was unbelievable!! so fresh and delicious. Solid bagel place with different sandwich options and snacks and sides. It's one of the only cafes in the area which is close to work so I frequent it often for iced coffee and bagels. No complaints with food, pricing or service but bagel flavors do run out later in the day. $10 card minimum. read more

The sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich was ok for the most part but the poor, dunkin donuts quality bagel really brought it down by the time I was done eating it. When they first opened up, Bagel Tree was great...everything was delicious and fresh. Everything has went down hill. The salads are served with grilled chicken that is not fresh. I tried to order a sandwich on a Panini and was told that everything is pre-made and I can't order a sandwich on a Panini. The menu clearly says that they can make cold cut sandwiches, but don't have any cold cuts other than turkey, prosciutto, or ham. What happened to bologna or salami? I ordered a egg and american cheese sandwich last week that had a distinct "refrigerator smell" and the cheese was not even melted! What is going on? What ever happened to customer service? Went here to get some breakfast this morning, ordered the Mexican omelette to go which includes Avocado this is what they put in the styrofoam container along with under cooked eggs. If I could have given zero stars I would have. Rotten Avocado. SMH read more

Good food much more then just bagels, they make it fresh in front of you. Only thing I don't like is that they have a limit in order to use card so you have to end up buying a snack or something on top of your already big meal. read more

I went inside this place for a drink, a protein bar and a banana.the women who was at the register was rude and very reluctant to assist me.she gave no smile no good morning or at least may i help you. I asked for something that was behind the counter and she eanted me to reach over and get it myself,she through the shopping bag on the counter and wanted me to bag it myself.i asked her why she was behaving like that and she touched her skin and said to me " you are black this is not your country". This review is not about the food but ALL about the service. They have their hours posted as 6:00AM - 4:00PM. That in and of itself is not the problem. The problem is that they 'clean' the grill sometime between 2:00PM and 3:00PM, so if you want anything hot, you are out of luck. When I told the woman who answered the phone at 2:55PM that they should post clarification around getting hot food, her response was that they were only doing what their boss told them to do. When I asked why it took over an hour to clean the grill, she again repeated that "they were only doing what the boss said". This hasn't happened just the one time but several times and they all have been at different times well before the posted closing time. So it's not like an hour before closing or two hours before closing, it seems that when they decide they no longer want to cook, they clean the grill. One time, it was an exceptionally warm winter day and they were closing early, again no sign to clarify because they wanted to "enjoy the day". I have no issue with wanting to enjoy a beautiful day but not at the expense of my business and good customer service. Honestly, how long does it take to clean a grill and why wouldn't that be done after hours. read more

I'm so excited this place is finally open! Its clean, a nice size, and has a great selection of bagels, hot and cold sandwiches and deli items. It even has soy milk and coconut water in the bottled food section. The service was good everyone is very polite, I'm not sure how quick they will be if there is an early morning rush but they are new. Its a great addition to the neighborhood. I had a large hazlenut coffee with soy milk, and an everything bagel with Scallion cream cheese for just under $6. read more

I will not be returning to this place. They carry expired product and when I tried to tell the Spanish lady at the register about it she got an attitude. Today was the last day I'll be making a purchase at bagel tree I ordered an egg white omelette and asked for extra feta cheese from the cool cook, the head cook proceeds to ask the other cook what Id ask for and then proceeds to ask me what I needed only to tell me that I can't have what I was willing to pay for. I replied could you put extra feta cheese in my omelet and the lead cook proceeds to tell me that there's already extra cheese in the omelet. So I'm looking confused like ok but I asked for extra feta so just give me extra feta. I get home and try my omelette and of Course I can clearly see that there isn't extra feta in my omelet. I take my food back and complain about your rude lead cook not making my omelet the way I asked and then he proceeds to jump in and tell me that he wasn't the one who made my food he's right I didn't think he was making my food so I'm not sure why he was the one communicating with me about the extra cheese I asked for when the guy that was suppose to be making my food is more than friendly and willing to make your food the way you like also a great cook. Your head chef clearly was the one that packed it up and told me that there's already extra cheese in my omelette but when confronted he claimed to not be the one to make my food, but in the end he was because the guy who I thought was making my food was taking care of someone else. I usually come to bagel tree every morning and every morning the home fries are never ready when you open, your head chef is very rude and return when I asked for my food to be made again told the other chef in Spanish not to make my order and that you don't have it. Really you don't have eggs to make an egg white omelette, I was totally taken back by the way I was just treated, especially since I spend my hard earned money at bagel tree all the time. I will never come to this establishment again and you can thank your head cook for that. Some other customers were getting ready to order but saw the way I was being treated left and said that they'll never come here again. I suggest you get a chef that can have food ready when it's suppose to be and give the customers what they ask for especially if their paying for it. Remember our business pays your rent and your staff (lead cook) should learn better customer service skills. Very turned off and will be speaking to the owner about my ordeal. read more
