Delightful little hideaway serving fantastic cold cuts on wonderful italian baguettes. Staff is friendly and inviting. Food is fresh and whether you eat in or take out, if looking for an italian sandwich, this is the place to go if nearby. Absolutely wonderful.

Small sandwich shop in walking distance to the Met. Pro tip is to order online before coming. It's super busy. Everything is made to order. The bread is amazing - delicate but hefty. The sandwiches are generous. Perfect amount for a lunch option.

This place is pretty good! I normally just come for a quick pickup lunch when I'm working from home and I'm happy to have this in the area as an option. It's a super small restaurant, so I wouldn't expect to sit here or do work for a significant period of time, given that most of the space is taken up by the kitchen. I've only ever had super quick interactions with the staff because I'm grabbing pick up orders, but the fact that the service is quick is really nice. They have a great selection of authentic and unique sandwiches, pastas, and salads. This time, I opted for the portofino sandwich ($11) which has cooked ham, fontina cheese, and fig jam, and evoo. While simple, this sandwich is very good. The bread was fresh and I always love the cheese/jam combo. I also think that given the size, the food is priced well. A good Italian find on the UES.

Got the chance to stop by Panineria recently with some friend and I was pleasantly surprised. They know how to make a good sandwich. There weren't too many seats inside but enough for me and my friends. They had one table outside. Hospitality was fantastic. Pepe does a great job running the place. Their peach lemonade was amazing. I ended up getting the Valtellina Sandwich which was great. The quality of food was what sold me. It was like a little Italy in the shop. Everything and one felt authentic. I like the way they have images of all their menu items so you can get a good look at what you're getting. Look forward to going back.

We stopped by Panineria as I wanted to use my Classpass points to purchase a sandwich and this shop came with high reviews. Shop is very tiny, barely a table to sit at as it is always so crowded. Staff were very nice! We wanted to grab an eggplant sandwich to go and sadly it did not match up to what I was expecting. First, the slice of eggplant was so thin, it was literally one thin slice with a slice of cheese and arugula. It just did not satisfy my craving for eggplant parm hero. The ratio of eggplant to bread was not what I was expecting. When I get eggplant parm hero, I expect to bite into slices of eggplant, but this was not the case. However, I did enjoy the bread very much and liked this eggplant was not breaded! So it felt like a healthier version. But overall, if I had to pay $17 for this sandwich, it would definitely be worth it for me.

It is a cute little shop with not a ton of seating space but there is some chairs inside and a table outside I got the American and my partner got a build your own. Both sandwiches are great and heated perfectly. Delicious Staff was very kind and quick making our orders.

Just go. Who doesn't love a good Italian sandwich shop? But even amongst the authentic ones, some are just better than others. We stumbled into Panineria for lunch after it recently opened. Giuseppe was manning the counter and was a true gem. He told us about their commitment to only authentically imported Italian ingredients. We've heard this before, but here, you can really taste it in every single ingredient. We created our own sandwich -- spicy sopresetta, fresh Mozz, marinated mushrooms, roasted peppers, balsamic glaze and pesto on lightly toasted baguette. It was a hard 10 and possibly the single best Italian sandwich I've ever had. Why? Every ingredient was its own star of the show. The bread was fresh and crunchy and perfectly toasted. The sopresetta was delicious, not overly salted or spiced, and not overly rationed (some sandwiches you have to take half the meat off). Mozz was delicious. Peppers and mushrooms were both flavorful and wonderfully marinated. Balsamic and pesto were both high quality and delicious. The proportions across all ingredients were just perfect. After our lunch, Giuseppe treated us to their house made cannoli. Again -- best I've had. Splurge for them, even if it's only lunchtime. Super crunchy and delicious shell, perfectly balanced cream filling, a real treat. I'll be back here soon and recommend you give it a try. Super super delicious!!

Cremona Sandwich on Homemade Fluffy Onions Focaccia
    Evan N.

Pictures don't do justice but man oh man were the sandwiches here amazing! Both the ciabatta and the onion focaccia were amazing breads both light and soft. The Torre Del Greco was a hot roasted pork sandwich and mushrooms and while it was so simple it was just packed with deep flavor. The Cremona sandwich was just quality ingredients, the burrata on it was insane. I will say the burrata overpowered the mortadella a little bit but when you got a bite where you could taste everything it just was a perfect combo. Quality ingredients, and you defintely pay the price for it, definitely an expensive sandwich but 100% worth it in my eyes.

Okay so I found this place on a random instagram ad and it looked good, so I decided to stop in since I live in the neighborhood. They have a couple of locations and very passionate, friendly Italian owners. Shout out to Peppe working at the counter today, seems like an awesome guy. I came here for the first time yesterday and it was so good I came back today. Yeah. There is dedication to authenticity and quality ingredients and this place is WAY more than just a neighborhood lunch spot. MEATBALLS PANINI First of all the bread is perfect. It's got this beautiful, hearty crunch, and underlying chewiness. The meatballs are cut in half, and are in this savory fresh tomato sauce. The arugula adds freshness and the slices of parmesan cheese are sharp and add extra umami. Tender, flavored meatballs are honored in this sandwich. It's not like a "meatball sub," which are typically overly greasy, oily and just a mess. This is like a meatball sandwich graduated. I'm still thinking about it and so happy that this place is near me. Will def be going back. HOMEMADE PEACH LEMONADE I'm a sucker for a lemonade, especially a flavored one. The peach flavor is nice and strong, the drink itself thicker than a traditional lemonade (like peach nectar) and even a bit sour, which is to my liking. ICED CAPPUCCINO Bonus points for keeping the foam over an iced cappuccino. Great pick-me up to go with the sandwich. Wishing this place all the success. They have multiple locations and hope this one sticks around for a long time!

I got the Valtellina Sandwich. It was very good. I ended up adding banana peppers and chives plus a little mayo. It was very tasty. The bread, cheese, arugula and prosciutto seemed fresh. Bread had a good crisp. Everything in good proportion. My husband walked out with a cream puff, and my only complaint is that he didn't get me one. Haha. We will prob be back!

Most Asian…read morerestaurants in this neighborhood are fancy sit-downs, so it was exciting to see a quick, casual stop for Asian "finger food" (for a lack of better word) within my vicinity. Joju specializes in modern Vietnamese cuisine, serving meals like bahn mi, loaded fries, and rice meals. The menu recently added soy garlic wings, and since I am a fiend for Asian-style fried chicken, I of course had to have it. While all of the beverages looked tempting, especially their non-alcoholic soju refreshers, I needed caffeine to offset the afternoon slump that was about to follow, so I ordered a Vietnamese coffee. The wings were huge! It was notably crunchy, saucy, and juicy. There was a decent skin to meat ratio, (I so hate biting into a mouthful of breading), and the meal came out piping hot. It was clear the chicken had been fried per order. Those who know me know that I can't live without rice and would eat it with almost any meal, including fried chicken, so I did request it on the side, although the wings don't come with it. The man who took my order did me a solid and served it with mine, anyway. Good lad! I've been wanting to try Vietnamese coffee for a while now, and it was everything I imagined it would be. Sweet with a bitter backend - but not too bitter! I'm still new to coffee, and I pucker up at anything too intense. This was just right. My meal at Joju satisfied me, mind, body, and soul. I hope it is here to stay, and I hope that a shop like this is a catalyst for other quick Asian food stops to follow. Korean and Filipino restaurants - I'll be waiting!

You would be remiss if you didn't get the banh mi or kimchi fries, and their monster rolls which are a newer creation but are essentially giant lumpia with any and all of the sauces they have available. Another plus is that they have pretty creative drinks, like their refreshers and virgin mojitos, for a nice little drink that isn't too calorie-dense depending on what you get. Welcome to the neighborhood Joju and I wish you all the success.

I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich.
