Frequently passing Bagels & Co because parking is difficult to find. I just haphazardly found a parking spot directly across the street. There is plenty of seating for those that choose to dine inside. Forming a line from the door when you walk inside. There are many employees behind the counter working in unison, the line moved Swifty. The decor is a cross between a pizza shop and a coffee shop. I gathered that this is a Kosher Bagel place IYKYK! So, looking around I see all sorts of bagels and I found out that the bagels are all hand made/ rolled! They have salad, pancake for $3 a piece. And, pause... They have pizza! I purchased a plain bagel with cream cheese, a Poppy seed bagel with scallion cream cheese, and 2 pancakes for $3 a piece. Everything is to go, the meter is running with 20 minutes reserved. I got home ready to dig in, placed one $3 cake in the toaster oven, although they did warm it up. Added sausage no syrup yet. It's half cooked not edible, $6 in the trash. They were very heavy as well. I'm glad I bought extra food. The bagel was lightly toasted and they put a mound of cream cheese on them. Sloppy joe's held together better than this. The guy serving said that they are number 1, they can be that, for convenience sake. This trip was not impressive enough for a return visit. And they have a return policy, it's no refunds! Areas of improvement, pizza looking days old should not be out that early. It's not appealing. I'm just saying... Inspire more, Yelp more! read more

Absolutely loved this spot! Very busy spot with long lines depending on the day and time. I ordered a sesame bagel, lightly toasted, with butter, salt, black pepper, and an omelette. The bagel was huge, fresh, and had that perfect chewy texture. Omelette was good it was all veggie. They serve other items as well even pizza is on the menu but didn't try that. I also grabbed three sesame bagels with butter for my family, lightly toasted the same way. They were all consistent in size and quality, and everyone was happy with them. Prices were very fair, especially considering how large the bagels are. You can dine in or take out your choice but they have seating inside and outside. I will never return here after the way the owner spoke to me in front of my two young children this morning over a bagel order. Her staff messed up a bagel order that could have been easily fixed with an apology. Instead she decided to defend her staff who clearly was not listening to me when I was making a simple bagel order. Then she proceeded to yell at me in hebrew telling me SHEKET!! And to leave her store because "she is the owner". She is disgusting and disgraceful and she made everyone in her store feel uncomfortable. I discovered this gem when my other bagel spot near my doctor closed . It's on Union Turnpike and 188th St . Long lines out the door in the morning . Small seating area but this is the best kosher bagels I've tasted . They are huge and soft . My go to is plain or sesame bagel with loc , a schmear and tomato .I skip the capers . They have muffins and baked goods and salads as well . Cozy vibe on the corner of the block . They do observe the Sabbath so they are closed on Saturday . I had a bagel craving for lunch and it was time for my second coffee of the day and I am from the neighborhood but north of the area towards bayside hills.. so I know a good bagel from Queens and Manhattan... the "everything bagel" was like plain white bread with some seeds on it. It just did not seem like a real bagel. The coffee around 12 pm was gross. Maybe it was not fresh anymore but it was still tasting terrible esp when I am happy with that simple basic deli coffee or Wesley Farms or Folgers which are far from luxury but that is all I need.. this was terrible. The neighborhood has also changed with the Jewish population leaving and more Asians continuously coming in. Best public schools around but seems run down around that part. read more

This is a review in rush hour. Our time is limited and folks are simply trying to get to work and stay loyal to a business. I couldn't even get my full order out and they do not respect the order of the line. I sat there and witnessed friends, just shouting, their order, over-the-counter. I find this rude and unprofessional and this is not my first experience like this. Met up with 4 friends for the first time because Bagles & Co. has a beautiful outdoor seating area and we were a group of 5. There was a Long line which indicates the food is good-AND IT WAS! The people are hard working and nice. They are clearly handling a lot. I was surprised to read some of the negative reviews until I realized they were: 1) either from a bunch of self serving entitled people who felt the people behind the counter needed to work harder or faster --if you need faster service go to a cheap place where you place your own order and pay for it and there is no human interaction. 2) or a group of people from a culture that preaches an ideology where strangely enough their prophet says it is good to hate their neighbor, trash their neighbor's business without ever going there and also coments on the owner's choice of flags. IS THAT YOUR BUSINESS? etc.. instead of spending time being a loser and putting worthless comments why don't you spend time beautifying your own lives and businesses. What kind of sick culture endorses such behavior? Overall this is a clean wonderful place with good food and very fair prices. If you like to trash people because you feel people need to rush even more to serve you or you feel like it is ok to write a negative review because of your caveman ideology please get a life. Love this place!! Food is always delicious and very reasonable and the staff is always helpful and patient. When we have a morning appointment in the area, we always drop in for a quick lunch here and are never disappointed---- Our usual go-to lunch is a soup of the day and a bagel with a shmear---and we leave happy. We have also come here for a get-together with friends and are always pleased with the service and the great menu. For a kosher bagel spot, it's pretty decent! I had their bagel and lox on scallion cream cheese -- and it hit the spot! We went on a Sunday morn around 12 pm. To my surprise, the line was not packed but as soon as I stepped inside, a huge line magically appeared behind me-- so I got lucky. This is one of the stores that brings me New York bagel pride and I would recommend to my out of state friends and family any time. I haven't been here for a few years, after it changed hands in 2017 and went downhill. Now that my recent favorite has closed (the owner retired), I'm happy I've given Bagels & Co. another try. The quality is once again really good. The bagels are soft on the inside and harder on the outside, with only moderate chewiness. The one spread I tried was full of the olives it promised. The premises were clean, and although the line went out the door at 11 am on a Sunday, the staff was efficient, friendly, and there were enough of them to make the wait under 10 minutes. There is plentiful outdoor seating in addition to a large dining room and seats opposite the counter where the line is waiting. In addition, the other baked goods and Jewish delicacies seemed really well prepared, although I haven't had a chance to try them yet. Added bonus: 30 minutes after I left the store, the extra bagels I'd bought to have at home were still warm. It seems the bagels are $1.25 each and the bagel with olive spread was $3.80, all very fair prices for today. read more

Not really feeling this place at all. The customer service is terrible. I hate walking into a place of business where the employees look at me like they want to chop me up into a million pieces at 9 o clock in the morning. The only good thing about this place is the everything bagel, that's all. It's almost one of the best everything bagels I think I've ever had but I hate the service so I don't even bother going anymore. Once in a while my boyfriend would stop by and pick me up one but he's starting to get annoyed with the service as well. Firstly, the vegetable cream cheese and the strawberry cream cheese both need work. The vegetable cream cheese has like specks of vegetables and it's just not working for me. The strawberry cream cheese is mousse consistency and I'm not sure why but the taste is okay. I had it on a cinnamon raisin bagel that was hard as a rock and there definitely wasn't enough strawberry cream cheese to combat my bagel. Anyway, my normal order is a bagel with tofu cream cheese, and I usually get a half-pound of tofu to take home. This...at my usual spot...costs $5.70. When I was paying at Bagels & Co, it was almost $12!!! ABSURD. It's not like I even had any lox! I looked at the cashier and was like WTF HOW, and she pulled out the price list and showed me how a HALF POUND of tofu costs $6.50! WHO CHARGES THAT MUCH?! You could go to a local supermarket and get an entire container of Tofutti for half the price. Mind you, a half-pound here is MORE EXPENSIVE than my ENTIRE ORDER at my normal bagel shop. The bagels themselves are huge, texture is okay, but the flavors lack a little. My sister got the everything bagel and it was mostly sesame and poppy seeds. I do like their variety of cream cheese and having tofu cream cheese is always a plus for me. Came in on a Sunday morning around 11am and while they are reasonably packed with a line, the servers behind the counter are more caught up in their own conversations with each other than attending to the customers. I would understand if the place was empty but there was a line with quite a bit of people. On top of that, the person ringing everyone up overcharged me and wasn't even apologetic about it AND she only refunded me $5 instead of the full $7.50. Didn't make a scene since other people were waiting, but I certainly should have since she paid me little attention when I asked her about it and just moved on to the next customer. Onto the food now - the bagels are bigger and fresh, though I wish they would toast it instead of just heating it up. They fill up the bagel with A LOT of spread which makes up for their high prices. Their lox spread however was more on the cream cheese side than on the salmon side. I didn't really taste the salmon and barely saw little pieces in the cream cheese. Around 4 PM I was happy to see they were fully stocked with both bagels and schmears although they were unfortunately out of blueberry bagels which are my favorite.
