I give this bagel shop credit! Since I moved to landing they have been there and where they're located throughout the years it has gotten like a ghost town. But they have held on with the same great tasting bagels and same faces (in the back). If it wasn't for my metabolism I'd be there daily. Support our local town Restaurants they are the true gems. And for the price it's so worth it!! I usually get a Taylor Ham (pork roll whatever) with egg and cheese on an everything bagel. Ughh I'm hungry now .... If you haven't had them go for it!! Pretty good bagels @ Bagels On the Hill. Family lives nearby and this is "the" bagel shop for the traditional Sunday morning bagels. There's a wide variety, including all the classics and a few modern-day combinations (like black russian) that would make my Jewish grandma say "huh?". Bagels are fresh, but smaller than I've seen. It seems like they have gotten smaller here over the years. Service is quick, and the place is busy, so expect to wait a few minutes. Thé staff at this establishment does NOT wear gloves. No one in the kitchen wears gloves. We witnessed everyone cooking, touching bagels, utensils, raw taylor ham, containers of raw eggs with NO GLOVES and then serving the food they made. Every time I've gone and picked up my breakfast or had it delivered through door dash, the sandwiches are consistently delicious! Friendly staff and short wait times when I'm in the shop. Otherwise delivery is also pretty quick. The sandwiches aren't the biggest but you can add extra meat etc. depending on your preference. I would recommend them! read more

If only I could leave a 1/2 star, I would. We moved to the area about 2 years ago this May 5th. We discovered many places in the area that we like. Bagels on the Hill is not one of them. To be honest, the place is quite filthy. Just look as you enter at the walls, and the baseboards. Crud all over. While you're waiting, you have time to see it all in the little standing room at the front. I try not to look at it when I've gone there because sadly, they are about the only game in town (this has changed and I'll get to that at the end). Once you get past the filth, the bagels are good, made the old fashioned way. However the real problem is the attitude of the workers. They really are quite rude and it's off putting. But my family and I have dealt with it. The most recent time was this past Sunday. I went in for a simple toasted bagel with butter. The short girl, a little chubby was maybe half friendly but what annoys me is as my bagel popped up out of the toaster she started to prepare it, but kept turning around to talk to a customer that they obviously know very well. I'm like the only other person waiting and she did this several times. Pausing to say a word or too. I'd like to get in and get out because this order was for my daughter who would be leaving for work within 10 minutes of my return. I felt like saying to the girl, "the most important customer you have, is the one you're dealing with at the moment." But why bother? They are always like this. Just not friendly service from ANY of the counter people. They act as if THEY are doing you a service. I'm sure they are aware that they are the ONLY game in town, BUT this has changed as someone opened up a Bagel place in a much more convenient location now. So you would think that they would be on their toes and greet people in a more friendly manner. And I will tell you this, other people must have stopped going to Bagels on the Hill because I noticed they are not as busy as before. My message to the owner, you make good bagels, but your place is filthy, and your workers both young and old need to respect the customer's and treat them friendly, and with a smile. Good bagels, lots of beverage options, easy to get to. Parking can be tough, but there is a maternity parking spot that is usually open. I am a 27 year old fetus so I figure I am eligible for the spot. Service is efficient and friendly, they take orders over the phone which is nice. Went today for bagels to this shop. First thing that tipped me off was the aroma of a bagel shop while growing up. That smell of bread and bagels - unmistakably exciting. The next was the metal cages that were empty of almost every popular variety (plain, everything etc). The good news was that the many people that were standing and had ordered were also waiting for plain, everything or breakfast sandwiches. A hot spot indeed! As soon as the bagels were slid off of the pizza style spatula into their respective cages, my order was prepped. I got one dozen a pound of plain cream cheese. When I returned home, the paper bag was wet and had to be torn open to get to he bagels - a testament to the condensation and oven fresh bagels. When I asked the family how they were, they didn't talk, just opened their eyes wide and gave me a thumbs up- my new go to place. Got four bagels with butter, a large coffee for me and a coke for the wife all for under 11 dollars. Service was fast. No waiting. The smell of the bagels being made was evident when I pulled into the parking lot. Saw the local law enforcement in the parking lot on their break. So you know Bagels on the Hill are doing it right. Excellent, excellent food. When we left Bergen County and came out here, one thing we worried about was finding the quality we left behind in bagels. This is the ONLY bagel store that matches that quality. Bagels are hand-rolled and fresh. Salads are awesome. Paninis are one of my favorites and the breakfasts are superb. They have a nice selection of muffins, cupckaes and cakes as well and Mike (the owner) is such a nice guy! I've had catering from them, gotten lunch sandwiches there as well and we've never ever been let down. read more
