My favorite AWAY suitcase is a model they dont make anymore, and its a magic suitcase. Its a carry-on but it somehow manages to fit 2 weeks of everything I need in any season. And it expands. The wheel bearings were fried from miles of use and the handle was sticky and difficult to retract. The stationary handle on top was loose from years of being pulled in and out of bins and Ubers. Carmen fixed it all and it feels like new again. Dropped it off on a Friday and he called Monday when it was ready. Total price $120. Considering the price of a new quality travel piece, this is a steal. And, less waste than buying new!

I took my suitcase in on Monday afternoon to get a pull replaced on one of the zippers and the telescope handle fixed because it kept jamming. The total was $55 and I paid via Zelle. He reiterated that it'd be ready by Thursday. I'm thinking it's going to be a couple days and next thing I know I get a call the next day (Tuesday) saying my suitcase is ready and I can come pick it up. I was set to go for my next trip in plenty of and he even found a pull in his inventory that matches the other pulls on the suitcase. The new pull and the telescope handle both work great, and I am thoroughly satisfied with the speed of the work and the cost. Will definitely go here again if I ever need more luggage repaired.

I like to head to the home section in the back for the books, kits, and candles; this last time, I found two hardcover copies of an author whose novels I enjoy in the clearance section for only $12 apiece. I haven't been approached or helped by any associates during my visits - which is fine - but nothing outstanding to report, either. The most recent time, we (my small rescue dog and I) got barked at twice (first by a reactive chihuahua and second by a reactive dachshund) and was surprised that neither the owners nor staff said anything. Not that this ruined my experience, but you'd expect fellow dog people to have more common courtesy.

What followed was nearly two months of wrong replacement colors, missed follow-ups, and repeated promises to correct an error that TUMI caused. When I returned to the store for a resolution, Manager Maby told me there was nothing she could do and that she was not responsible for the mistake. That response was unacceptable. A store manager may not personally make every mistake, but management is responsible for resolving mistakes made by their staff. I gave TUMI multiple opportunities to make this right. Mistakes happen--the real test of a premium brand is how it responds when they do. Unfortunately, TUMI failed that test.
