The spring rolls, thai tea with boba, teriyaki chicken banh mi, beef banh mi, and pho are all repeats my family can't get enough of. The staff is kind and considerate. Inside out: the parking can be a bit wild as it's right next to Fred Meyer. It's an average store front on the outside. Inside it's a basic sandwich store with more cute plants! It's not particularly striking but it's clean and has just an average vibe. Not a long hangout type of place but easy for a quick lunch. Service: fast and friendly no complaints Food and drink: I got the Cajun shrimp sandwich- everything tasted fresh and delicious (the bread was fantastic) but perhaps not as many shrimp as I hoped for with the price. Stopped in for pho today. This place is known for their sandwiches but I wanted something hot. Placed my order with the lady at the register and sat myself. The venue is very small. If you're eating alone, you'll be comfortable. You can work with 2 people at a small table. If you have 3 or more people than you might as well take it to go. The tables are crammed together. It's not the best area to eat in. Subway has bigger tables than they do. I ordered a bowl of pho today and some bbq qio coun. My pho came out hot! It smelled delicious. They were nice and gave me a side of hoisin and Sriracha together. I don't like hoisin in my broth and kindly asked the lady for a side of just Sriracha. She got annoyed and tried to take the cup of sauces back. I actually wanted both. So, she went and got me all side of hot sauce after that drama. The broth was savory. It had the right amount is saltiness to it. It had plenty of steak, meatballs and brisket. But it failed for me since there was hardly any noodles in it. After a couple bites I was basically done. I did order an extra site of noodles. They have me such a huge side. The portion that they gave me a side would have been perfect in my bowl. By the time I got my side of noodles, my broth had already started to cool. It didn't taste the same. The noodles didn't get a chance to absorb the soup since the soup was cooler. I had such high hopes just to be disappointed. Kinda crappy since that bowl was 20 bucks. The gio coun was ok. The bbq meat was bland. The dipping sauce was a different consistency. I love a good banh mi sandwich. I found this place when I first moved to Boise over a decade ago. My Dac Biet sandwich is consistently good. The veggies are fresh and the bread is delicious. In fact, the baguettes are made fresh daily. Don't let their varied selection of sandwiches fool you. They also offer a really good bowl of pho. The owners stopped all in-dining after the pandemic but they pack the pho and fixin's really well so it doesn't spill. This is a completely respectable bahn mi in an unsaturated market of bahn mis in Boise. I unfortunately showed up with an American Express card which was not accepted by the store but they were willing to give me a small discount since I didn't have another card. I got an egg bahn mi and a grilled beef bahn mi. I will agree with other reviewers which state they skimp on beef. You will not get full on beef alone and will likely be a little bit annoyed. I would not order the pho again. There were no meatballs (it's listed on the menu in the pho ingredients), and more importantly, they ran out of bean sprouts for the veggie plate (and didn't provide a heads-up about it at the time of ordering). My husband found this place on Yelp and so we came here on a Sunday around 6:30 pm. After looking over the menu board, we ended up getting: Vermicelli, $7.95 prior to tax- This noodle entrée is good for two and was tasty. The meat was also good and tender. #1 House Special, $4.95 prior to tax- My husband opted for this sandwich. The lunch meat is good but on the skimpy side. The baguette bread used was good and had a nice chew. ----------------- (Total= $13.14 after tax) When we came in, I wanted to order spring rolls but they were already sold out. Same with a milk tea that I had asked to purchase. I was surprised that a handful of items I had asked for were already sold out ~ 90 minutes before closing time. But I guess at least they still had the ingredients to make banh mi sandwiches. Well I've had better, but maybe that's because I'm from Los Angeles where there are a lot of places that make really good Vietnamese food. Baguette Deli is my go-to hangover meal and a top lunch spot that I frequent! I usually order takeout at the counter and bring it home or take it to eat at the park! You can tell that the bread is baked fresh daily. It has a really nice crunch but is still very soft inside. My favorite combination is dipping the House bahn mi into the hot pho broth. The House Bahn Mi has the classic meat, cilantro, jalapeños and pickled radish and carrots. It's a really big sandwich- about a foot long for only $4.95! It's a great deal for a great sandwich! Upfront on the counter they have already-made egg rolls, shrimp spring rolls and beef spring rolls. The shrimp spring rolls are fresh and pair perfectly with their peanut dipping sauce. I usually order a few egg rolls and add the fish sauce for 50cents. The Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk is actually one of my favorite coffees to get in all of boise. I have also tried the avocado shake and it's made with real avocados and condensed milk again for sweetness and creaminess. Absolutely delicious! However the prices have jumped from 10 to 13 and now 16.99 in 2 years. with no change to portions or taste. More expensive than competitors. I unfortunately will no longer be buying from here. I've been going to the Baguette Deli for several years now and it's always been one of my favorite pho and bánh mì places! Sure, there are other Vietnamese restaurants to try, but I would consider them the OG of Vietnamese restaurant of Boise - most notably for their bánh mì sandwiches! I tend to stick to my usual order, the #3, which is a BBQ pork sandwich ($5.99), but it's not your typical barbecued meat slathered in sauce. It's more of a drier, marinated pork that they pair with jalapeños, cilantro, carrots, daikon radish, and mayo all on a baguette. I'm impressed with the flavor of the meat the most! :) I also like ordering their Thai tea with boba ($3.99), their iced Vietnamese coffees ($4.25), and sometimes the blended, avocado smoothie with boba during the summer ($4.99+$0.50). Since the start of COVID times, they have increased the prices by $1-3 for some items, but I do not feel quality has changed that much. They have also converted to take-out only, but I love that I can call ahead to place my order and have it ready to pay by the time I arrive. Sometimes I also call ahead to find out if they have boba and they're great about letting you know if it's in stock for that day. Ive been here like 3 times , id say they skimp out on Bahn Mi meat. Although the bread is good but really crunchy which i like but im not sure how others will feel about that. Two things i do like about this shop is the pho and their strawberry smoothies , those are the best on my opinion. The service is whatever, nothing special about it. We used to love this place. We'd been patronizing it for many years. I've just recently gone back after three years of not going (not going out much anywhere), and I ordered a bahn mi house sandwich to go. Now this used to be $4.95 or thereabouts not long ago. It's now $9.53 with tax. It was dry, lacked meat and mayo and was not an enjoyable sandwich. Unfortunately they've lost another customer as I simply can't and won't pay almost $10 for a baguette with a few scarce fillings inside. I dare say it's highway robbery. I see this in many food establishments these days but this one really stood out. We all know prices had to go up, but here they went up 80-90% and quantity down at least 25%. Not at all a good deal.
