This was our second time to eat here this week! I got the Crab Cay Baked Flounder - flounder filets with crabmeat stuffing, topped with baby shrimp and baked. OMG it was amazing! We sat at the bar and the service was outstanding! Bahama Bobs burned last year, but it is now brand new and beautifully better! The bar is like being in a tiki hut! Good but not great. Food was decent, didn't care for the drinks, service was the best part. It had been a long day of traveling and this was our first stop in town. Recommended to us by a local so we had high hopes. We came in around 2 PM and sat right away- location is great! Right on the beach. They have parking but very limited (like 5 spots total). There's more parking along the side but you have to pay to park. Convenient if you want to hit the beach before or after. Ambiance is laid back beachy. Is that even a thing?! Not the frills and fancy seafood dinner, more like long day at the beach and you need a quick (expensive) bite to eat. I tried the fresh catch of the day (trigger fish) our server recommended it blackened. While it was decent, it was so over cooked it made it impossible to truly love it. Entrees come with two sides and I opted for tater tots & corn on the cob. The freshest corn on the cob I've ever had. I hate when the sides are better than the actual entree but I will admit they were both good. My friends got the coconut shrimp and a salad with shrimp. The coconut shrimp was actually pretty good despise the fact they seemed a little burnt. Apparently they are the only restaurant to hand batter their coconut shrimp in Gulf Shores. The shrimp salad had a disappointing presentation. Most of the toppings on the side in to-go cups and the shrimp that came with them were sadly small. The menu has good variety and maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes. Full bar and drink menu. I tried the peach margarita (frozen) and again just disappointing. It tasted like a watered down no love included in the making margarita. Also it had 0 peach flavor to it. Overall the quality is not worth the high prices. This area of gulf shores is quite touristy so I can see why they stay busy but there are much better "bangs for your buck". The staff was extremely friendly and provided good service so that was a big win for us. read more

Holy cow. The coconut shrimp from this place is the best coconut shrimp I've ever eaten and it's my go to meal on vacation. The sauce was phenomenal. It comes with about 8 coconut shrimp and they were so big I could only force myself to eat 4, but my table didn't complain one bit! Our waiter was delightful, I think (?) his name was Travis. My husband got the grouper and it was wonderful and so soft. Our wait was only 25 minutes with a bunch of families ahead of us! There is plenty of seating outside and even in the cold, they have heaters and it's enclosed. There is seating inside but we didn't sit inside so I can't comment on that. Dined here for lunch and dinner one day. Bahama Bobs and Zeke's are absolute treasures on the Gulf Shores. Let's start with lunch. I had a pound of the royal reds. I have never had a shrimp that tasted so good. I couldn't figure out what they reminded me of until I ran across an article that said the Royal Reds taste like a lobster and scallop mix. YES!!! These are hands down the best shrimp I've ever had and I've been eating seafood since before I could talk. The Royal Reds come with a side and the veggie of the day. On this particular day the veggie of the day was Italian Green Beans. For the record, I do not care for Italian Green Beams at all. When I put a forkful of them in my mouth I could not be more pleased. These green beans were soul food green beans. The flavor, OMG, so delicious. They legit reminded me of a memorable meal I had at a friends house in North Carolina. The broccoli was perfectly cooked but most certainly not as amazing as the green beans. Round two. For dinner I ordered a small serving of the Crab Cay Crab Claws. You can have them fried or cooked scampi style. Because we had them at Lulu's fried I wanted to try the scampi style. The flavor, WHAT!!! I live in the MidAtlantic and we love crabs. How have I never had these crab claws before???? The claws were cooked to perfection and the flavor was off the charts. If you ever find yourself in Gulf Shores, Alabama do yourself a favor and try these. Definitely going to have to figure out how to recreate this dish. The side salad was huge. It normally comes with tomatoes but I passed on them and asked for extra cucumbers instead. I requested blue cheese dressing. The waiter brought blue cheese and a vinaigrette and said "trust me". I did and it was dang good. Who would have thought. All I have to say about Bahama Bobs is don't sleep on this spot. Definitely check them out. You will not be sorry. read more

We visited Bahama Bob's on a Sunday at 4:45p. There was no wait, we got seated immediately. Our waitress, Rachel, was so friendly and personable. She had great recommendations for drinks and food. We sat inside. It is crowded, but manageable. There is also outdoor seating available. We ordered the jalapeño shrimp appetizer..... WOW. Incredible. Order them. Just do it. For entrees, we got the Steamed "Water Reds" shrimp, (royal red shrimp), the catch of the day (trigger fish), and two kids meals. Drink wise, we got the Bushwhacker and Bahama Mama. Both were great. The water red shrimp were good, the corn and potatoes were just okay. They had no seasoning. They're just boiled. The trigger fish and broccoli were amazing. We came here for dinner Thursday evening after getting into town. We wanted something close to our hotel with outside sitting and appealing appetizers, and this place fit the bill. It's a small little restaurant - we wound up sitting inside as we were in a hurry to get to a conference opening that evening and didn't have time to wait for an outside table. The inside is cramped and quite noisy. There's a nice bar and a couple of TVs. We only wanted appetizers to eat as we were still fairly full from lunch and also were trying to get to the conference. We ordered the Buffalo wings and the appetizer sampler, which came with chicken tenders, fried mozzarella, and fried mushrooms. The food was decent / pretty good. The wings needed more sauce and the tenders were small and kinda chewy, but the fried mozzarella was good (only three pieces though) and the fried mushrooms were also very tasty, especially with ranch. The sampler platter was huge, but mostly fried mushrooms -- only 4 small tenders and 3 pieces of mozzarella. Luckily, the mushrooms were probably my favorite thing, lol, especially with the tasty ranch dipping sauce. The main drawback here had to be the service. Our waitress was incredibly surly and unfriendly. She appeared visibly annoyed when she learned we were only ordering appetizers. I get she probably wanted a bigger tip that would likely come with entrees, but we always tip generously and we had every intention of allowing her to turn the table over quickly. Her demeanor changed a little bit when we ate quickly and asked for the check (we had to stand up and go find her as it seemed like she was ignoring us) and she even brought us an extra ranch without us asking to add to our to-go box, which was a nice touch, but it was too little too late to prevent a sort of sour experience. The food that we had is worth a visit if you're in the mood for that sort of thing; hopefully, your waitress will be having a better night than ours.
