My family (dog included) loves shaved ice. Love started way back with the original refreshing treats in Lubbock,Tx. Naturally when we moved to SA we were delighted to find this place. We've visited numerous times over the years but lately things seem to be just not as good. Blame it on Covid? Bahama Bucks does have delicious drinks but every time I've visited this location, it's taken over 15-20 minutes in the drive thru to get my drinks. There was only one person in front of me and they had just gotten their drinks. I've pulled up to the drive thru to see the employee texting in numerous occasions. Though their drinks and shaved ice are delicious, I'll be going to a different Bahamas bucks if I have the urge. read more

Im giving Bahama Bucks 5 stars because when it comes to snow cones or shaved ice, Bahama Bucks is as good as it gets. My buddy from Lubbock wouldn't stop talking about it, because in Lubbock is the original Bahama Bucks, until he finally convinced me to go and glad he did. They do it in a way ive never had before and its delicious. Great flavors and variety of cold treats. Since its the only one in the city, it does get a bit packed at times and wait times suffer but in the end you will be glad you waited. read more

I don't get the hype about this place. The only 2 up sides that I see are that it is LEGIT shaved ice that they're serving, and that they have color changing spoons. They have a million flavors (not really) as well as smoothie options, but at the end of the day it's all the same as the guy that has the cart outside of HEB selling shaved ice/sno cones. read more

Why Am I waiting 30 mins in the drive thru for a snow cone? This place hits the spot on a hot summer day! Their shaved ice is pure perfection. The array of flavors is Great. The only con is the layout of the establishment. It takes way too long for the line to move, whether you're in the drive thru or waiting inside. The seating is very limited too. read more

I purchased a wavebender, my favorite drink from there and it didnt look or taste right. Its the only drinkninorder from there and it has always been creamy but today not so much. Ok first I would like to apologize for not taking a pic, but I couldn't shovel this in my face fast enough. I got the margarita, key lime and Jamaican rum shave ice. I didn't put much thought about the colors but it came to me like a frog went through a blender, it was all green. I really liked the flavors though.The key lime came through most, flavorwise. I loved this snow cone place!! The flavors were delicious. I got the mango and pinacolada with cream, my husband got mango and strawberry, and my daughter got tiger's blood with cream. Each flavor was yummy. They recommend no more than 3 flavors. This location also has a drive through. The snow cones are reasonably priced and the military discount helps too. My hubby and I tried BB for the first time last Sunday night around 6:30 p.m. They were playing Christian music, along with surfing videos on one wall and snow skiing videos on the other. We didn't have to wait long at all. We sat at a table and enjoyed some of the best shaved ice I've ever eaten--I chose Passion Fruit--but will definitely try others when we're close by. Yes, the tables could have been a bit cleaner (we cleaned our own), but all of the staff seemed busy.Cleanliness will go a long way to making all of these 5-Star reviews! I have never written a review in my life, but the customer service here the last time I went was just ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! First of all I waited a long while before my order ( flat-top apple, lemon and lime BRM) was taken, and then waited even LONGER to actually get my order. I pulled up to the window and I handed the cashier my card and punch card. She gave the punch card back to me without it being punched also I got my order but it wasn't a flat-top like I had asked. This was all easily fixed. I simply gave her my punch card back and the SNO and both issues were resolved. When I had gotten home I started to eat my SNO and I had realized she hadn't made it a BRM. I WAS NOT UPSET because I know mistakes happen. I don't live far so I simply drove back and asked them to fix it. When I got I went to the drive through and told them about the problem and they told me to come to the window. I think it was the manager at the time who took my order, because when she showed up to get my SNO she wasn't wearing a headset and the girl who took my initial order still was. I just thought to myself, "Oh ok, that's wierd" This next part is what makes me so upset. When I got my order back the cashier told me. "I put it in a smaller cup because some of it was already eaten." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? After all I had gone through without complaint you are just going to give my order back to me in a smaller cup?!? I didn't expect anything more than them to correct my order! Might have as well told me "WELL, SUCKS TO BE YOU! WISH YOU HAD THE POWER OF X-RAY VISION RIGHT ABOUT NOW. THEN YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TELL THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITHOUT EATING IT! LOL XD! WHAT AN UTTER LOSER!!!" I had some other things to do so I didn't bother arguing, but I was VERY DISSATISFIED. It wasn't the mistakes that bothered me but the POOR customer service in the aftermath. The worst Bahama Buck's I have ever been too. They were out of multiple flavors we wanted, didn't put very much cream on the snow cone, and they packed the ice down making it really hard. Other locations always shave the ice very thin and don't pack it in so that it has a powdery consistency. This snow cone was hard, and had lots of large chunks of ice in it. I don't recommend shaved ice from this location to anyone. read more

Bahama Bucks is just about the coolest thing that's happened to San Antonio. Every hour of the day the store is poppin! Under a lot of stress, the employees manage to go above and beyond to make their GUESTS happy. The store is ran by the most outstanding teenagers with truly kind hearts. They are extremely hard workers who handle themselves well in front of a stressful, hungry audience. I've notice a lot of progress in this store and it makes me laugh when I read all the negative comments about the store being ran by "kids". Hell, they're doing a better job than you would be remotely capable of! I only say this because I wouldn't want to be in the shoes of a worker working extremely hard to get product out as fast as they can so their guest doesn't have to wait another minute just to be criticized by their age? I think they do an outstanding job of keeping things running smoothly regardless of how long the line is (considering there is only one in SA) Finally, yes the floors are sticky and it does disappoint me that their cleaning habits are not 100% but then I take a bite of shaved ice and The day goes on. I also remind myself that hundreds of people walk in and out of that store by the hour... And they serve snow cones. Do you see what I mean? Of course, I had to do my research and was pleased to find out that regardless of their sticky floors, the health inspection was perfect with a demerit count of 0. I'd say that's a 5 in my book. My advise for those who choose to eat shaved ice should know a few things first about this establishment on Bandera Rd in San Antonio. Don't expect good customer service when the childish teenagers want to close down the store and go eat Whataburger. We got to the establishment at 10:30pm. The place doesn't turn off their signs till 11:00pm. We got our shaved ice exactly at 10:58pm ( I know this as it is printed on the receipt. They were beginning to close down the place but didn't advise us that we had to leave straight from getting the ice since the store was closing at 11:00pm. We sat down and started to eat the shaved ice. At about 11:20pm the Drive thru clerk was the one that came by our table as he was the chosen one to clean them and rudely with out being kind stated we are closed and needed to leave. We advised him that we were on a motorcycle and were not able to take the snow cones with us....he basically acted like it wasn't his problem. Advised us that we had to leave. We got up and started headed out...we were just going to throw away the shaved ice but they already took the garbage cans from the front of the store where they normally are. We Kindly placed them on the counter as we walked out. The Drive thru clerk rudely yelled out a rude remark stating that hey that isn't a trash can....that is a counter...Which we replied back that if there was no other place to put them since we were being kicked out and couldn't finish them. I then asked for a refund and the manager on duty stated that he wasn't going to provide refund due to the poor timing we chose to come in and order. I then asked well if you aren't going to give me a refund then I would like to talk to the owner of the this franchise as I'm sure that he would say something differently. The Manager on Duty suddenly changed his demeanor and stated you can go ahead and stay and finish your shaved ice. I told the poor excuse of a manager...that his work crew along with himself have ruined the occasion and the environment of eating at the establishment again.. I wanted a refund. He stated that his registers were already closed and that he could offer me VIP passes to come in again. I advised that I wouldn't be coming back again due to this bad service. I stated that if he can't refund the shaved ice then I will ask that the owner contact me....and then it was a miracle...the registers must have heard I was angry and came back on within seconds....as he just walked over to one and pulled up the order and refunded it back to my card. My advise is as follows...if you want shaved ice..find a place cares for their customer's. If you have to wait in a line for 30 minutes they should at least allow you to finish the item inside where is it cool regardless of the time. If they had warned us at the time of ordering that we would have to leave right when we got our items...this may have been a little different. read more

After calling and ordering to party packs and setting up a pick up time when I arrived one party pack was not even ready and then the three workers that were working on it took 30 minutes to mix "the juices" making me late for the party that was planned.
