    My cousin had their baby shower at the restaurant a few months ago, and we loved the food! So we had to have them cater for our own baby shower, and kudos to them for traveling to Rowland Heights for us! Staff is always so friendly and truly treat you like family. They took care of everything including the tray stands to keep the food warm. Their food is consistently delicious and authentic, and I highly recommend them for your catering needs! Or if you're just craving Filipino food

    I have seen their video reviews on Instagram so I had to try it. I got a two item combo. OMG! The lechon kawali (deep fried pork belly) here is just as bomb as my #1 favorite place, Kiko's in Artesia. I thought I would ever find a better place. This place also makes their lechon sauce from scratch and it's yummy! The Filipino fried chicken was totally better than Max's Restaurant. For some reason every Filipino fried chicken place except for this one always has dried out chicken. Their chicken here is perfectly crisp and juicy inside. With your combo you also get a small sinigang (soup) that is also good as well.

    1 1/2 minute read: We've (Jocelyn and I) have been steady Customers since the late '80s. The original Owner knew us well. Now, the new management wouldn't know us from anyone else and that's OK. ON a previous YELP account (I had), KUBO was featured many'a'time. I had tons of KUBO photos. However, I dropped YELP but eventually decided to come back and all of the THOUSANDS ofphotos, reviews and comments, YELP claims I cannot get back, so I began (again) from scratch. Kubo is now more known than before. I featured KUBO on GOOGLE, as well as on YELP.

    My wife and I came here for a repast when a friend's mother passed on. My wife and I both have Filipino friends and we have a somewhat limited knowledge of their native cuisine such as lumpia and pansit noodles. I am more adventurous and have tried different things like lechon and crispy pata. My wife was in the mood for lumpia and pansit so we came to Kubo for an early dinner. It's very casual and food is in steamer trays like a takeout Chinese restaurant. My wife found her pansit and rice and ordered some chicken on skewers. I had some Panoy style fried chicken, pork lechon and rice with spare ribs in a creamy bbq style sauce. We enjoyed our dinner and the price was reasonable. The food was tasty and satisfying. The woman behind the counter was very pleasant and patient with us as we decided on what to order. They had numerous selections and she graciously offered us samples when we asked about an item. Her patience and congeniality made us feel welcomed and put us at ease while ordering. Even with others in line, she didn't rush us. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience and we enjoyed some cuisine that is really not so foreign to us. We will definitely go back for more Filipino delicacies.

    I asked hubby to take me to a Filipino Restaurant. We ended up at Bahay Kubo in L.A. We got there about 10:30 am. My first impression of the place was that it looked clean inside. Also, we were greeted with a smile. We were hungry so it was nice that there was a good selection of "ulam" (food) ready! Everything looked good. I opted for the "Tocino"(marinated pork) and fried rice with eggs. I also got a side of adobo squid. Hubby got fish wrapped in banana leaves and pork sinigang. The food was so delicious. We really enjoyed our meal and liked the vibe of the place. We've been to many Filipinos restaurants, but this is by far the best place we've eaten at in a long time. Looking forward to going back.     I cant say enough good things about Kubo restaurant in Los Angeles. We had my mother-laws 86 birthday there & it was one of the best expierences in terms of dealing with the establishment when hosting a party. Jojo the owner took good care of us, everything was hassle free & the food that we ordered was delicious. We highly recommend this venue if you are hosting a party.

But, when combined, they harmoniously balanced the flavors of salt, acid, and sweetness. The beef tapa was savory indeed. You could also cut into it easily. I've never had anything like Java rice. That isn't normally what I eat at home so this was a pleasant surprise. The vibrant, yellow-orange, grain got its aroma from the garlic and turmeric. You cannot order a protein without ordering a side of Java rice. With that said, because it was savory, it also went well with the sweet Longganisa. The Longganisa was juicy and a little bit crispy on the outside. The acidity from the Tomato Cucumber Salad helped tie the entire dish together. It was a much needed balance between the proteins and rice, and enhanced their flavors even more. The Mexican coke was a great refreshment. I loved the old-school coke bottles. Drinking out of that while consuming refined dishes does elevate the experience overall. The staff were friendly and helped with explaining the menu. They also delivered the food to our table, that was kind of them. Thank you! When you're finished, you'll need to take your dishes up to their counter. The restaurant is small and has limited seating, mostly high table. They also have two tables outside. We went on a Saturday afternoon (around 2pm). Parking was difficult to find. We had to park two blocks away in a residential area. If you do decide to visit in the afternoon like we did, prepare to do some walking and bring a hat. Again, Kuya Lord is an EASY recommendation! I'm so happy that my husband and I finally got to try it out. I would love to come back to try more of their food. Well done!

The crab fat fried rice is a no brainer and depending on the night you come, I highly recommend the Sinigang xiaolongbao special. You don't have to be Filipino to appreciate what Sampa is doing for the culture, just come by and see for yourself.

The memories that came flooding back took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. We did order their famous empanada that never came. We had to remind our server that he never dropped it off. I'm not sure why he didn't double check if we still wanted them which we did. We would've obviously paid for them. Despite that they're getting all the stars from me because the food was fire and their drinks were 10/10. I got the Maria Clara. They also allow two free refills so that's a double win. I'm about to pull up every weekend. Take all my monies.

    Tried this place for the first time with friends earlier today. I ordered Sinigang na Bangus…read more(Milkfish) with garlic rice and I thought it was really good. I felt comforted by the sourness of the Sinigang soup after feeling stressed about my final exam. My friends ordered Tapsilog and Tocilog (tapa and tocino with garlic fried rice) and I was able to try them. The tapa was alright, but the tocino was very delicious. I liked how the tocino wasn't fatty at all. I would recommend the Sinigang and Tocilog to other friends/my family. The service was great. Our server was nice and accommodated us quickly when we needed something. The wait time for the food we ordered wasn't so bad. I also liked the ambiance of the restaurant because it felt like I was inside a family friend's house, which was unique to me. The food is a little on the pricier side for Filipino food, but overall I had a great experience dining here.
