I discovered Bai Tee on 14th Street in Ocean City on beach, adjacent to commander hotel, ( Bai Tee operates as its own bakery and café with a separate identity ) . I was working on a short-term rental project, this cafe quickly became my favorite breakfast spot. In fact, I ate there 9 out of the 12 days I was in town. Everything is thoughtfully sourced,local organic eggs, incredible Middle Eastern-style yogurt, fresh-baked sourdough, avocado toast and some of the best breakfast croissants I've had anywhere, not to mention they made perfect Lavazza cappuccino with coconut milk. The quality is unmatched in this downtown beach area . This is not your typical Ocean City breakfast café. It's the kind of place you'd expect to find in a larger food city, with simple ingredients elevated by chef Boutchia from South Africa, who stopped by our table to say hello .. Every meal I had was consistently excellent, and I can't recommend it enough. Side note ( One of the unexpected pleasures of my visits was seeing the owner, Peter Elias, so actively involved in the day-to-day operation. After decades in business myself, I was surprised to see him personally running food at Bai Tee. Then later that evening, I saw him at Oyster & Scales. It wasn't until afterward that I learned he owned not only those two restaurants, but Spain Wine Bar as well. Suddenly, the consistency in quality, hospitality, and attention to detail across all three concepts made perfect sense.) This was my first time trying breakfast here, and I was highly impressed! The store environment is wonderful; it will be even better if I have a table with a beach view, and the employees are so friendly; it really made the whole breakfast experience enjoyable. On top of that, the food was delicious. We had the Croissant Egg & Cheese sandwich and the Homemade Shakshuka, both paired with coffee. To end our meal, we treated ourselves to a raspberry cake and a blueberry danish. The raspberry cake was absolutely the best and paired perfectly with the coffee. We saw the owner interviewed on a local news program and decided to try Bai-tee for lunch on a cold Friday in December. First thing we noticed was all the employees had coats on. They informed us the heat wasn't working and wouldn't be fixed for a couple days. We recognized the owner at the back of the restaurant and, instead of greeting us (we were the only patrons), he turned around and walked into the kitchen. Maybe he was stressed about the heating situation, I don't know, but it certainly didn't give us good vibes. Even though we knew we would be eating with our coats on, we decided to stay and order something warm. I would have loved to take advantage of the ocean view but it was too darn cold so we stayed toward the back of the restaurant. I had a very good cappuccino and my partner had a flat white. My drink had a nice thick layer of foam on top...well done! Sugar and a spoon were provided upon request. We both had versions of an egg sandwich: mine was on thick cut country bread with an over-easy egg, melted brie, arugula, and sun-dried tomatoes. It also came with a nice side of fruit. My partner had an open-faced poached egg sandwich that came with garlic labneh, caramelized onions and Aleppo pepper. He couldn't taste the pepper & asked for Tabasco. I know eggs cool off pretty quickly, however, because the entire restaurant was cold, our meals were really cold. Some of the desserts looked interesting. You can also buy a loaf of their country bread for only $10 which is a good price. The servers and the coffees were the only "warm" things to recommend. I can't see returning. read more

We stopped here after walking nearly 40 blocks as we headed south to the amusement park and fishing pier. In need of a light dessert, we found the perfect spot with a few delectable desserts from Bai-Tee. We ordered the cinnamon and sugar muffin that was literally consumed by my daughter before I could snap a picture. That's how good it was! I had the delectable cheese danish with a light and flaky coating around the outsides and a solid yet tasty base to support the cheese danish itself. The chocolate chip cookies were a treat that we all shared. The soft bite showed how fresh and airy the cookie is. Delicious! The best part was being able to eat our desserts on the balcony of the Bai-Tee restaurant overlooking the ocean and boardwalk. The afternoon was so laid back and relaxing about table that we received the much-needed break from walking that allowed us to continue on our journey towards the fishing pier. We highly recommend this bakery and cafe for your dining pleasures. You will not be disappointed. read more

The bakery is conveniently located on the broadwalk. We weren't greeted upon arrival but once we engaged in conversation, the workers were cordial. The yogurt parfait was good but not plentiful, it was a small amount in a to go cup. The Egyptian chamomile tea was good and the latte was average. read more

This bakery and cafe is a hidden treasure of the Ocean City boardwalk, with it's chic decor, relaxing music, extremely friendly/attentive staff and delicious food I will definitely return. I split two items with my wife and pup, we started with the Labneh (yogurt with whey removed) parfait which was salty and complemented perfectly by fresh blueberries, blackberries, strawberry and raspberries whipped up with cardamom-orange blossom honey, and tahini infused granola. I ended up wanting a little more honey after we had finished the parfait ingredients but it was a very nice start to the day. We also got the Simple Breakfast with eggs over medium, smashed red potatoes, sujuk sausage, lamb bacon, blackberry jam and hearth toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly, tasted great and despite being outside in 50-ish degree weather didn't become frigid. The smashed red potatoes had a great consistency more in line with roasted potatoes than a hash brown or home fry. The sausage felt very much like a kabob and was excellent on the very crusty hearth toast. The lamb bacon had the texture of your standard pork bacon and tasted like lamb, different but definitely as advertised. The coffee was excellent, I don't drink much coffee but enjoyed it as I sipped some of my wife's cinnamon toast crunch latte and watched the boardwalk with her and our dog from their excellent patio seating. Oh my yum!!! Ocean City needs more places like this. Wonderfully crafted baked goods in addition to a full breakfast and lunch menu, coffee drinks, "coffee libations", wine, beer, kind accommodating staff, clean AND an ocean view. What else could you ask for? Have walked by many times during our 5 mile jaunt and said, "we've got to stop someday". Well, today was the day. We didn't get the full experience but the experience we received was enough to take our business elsewhere. We arrived around noon, it wasn't busy at that time. We sat at the bar waiting to be acknowledged. Seeing menus beside us we took a look. We decided on drinks first. The lady came over with a confused expression and so I was confused. I wasn't sure if we order elsewhere or with her. I asked if we order here at the bar or do we need to walk over the "where the experience starts" she said at the bar was fine. My husband ordered a drink which he could not pronounce. Maybe it was funny but after asking her how to properly pronounce it, she laughed again and said the name while turning away. We waited 10 minutes more no drinks. As we were sitting at the bar we noticed her taking containers out the small fridge and placing them on the dirty bar floor to rearrange or look behind other open containers. Then placing them back in the refrigerator. We were lucky enough to be told they didn't have the ingredients to make the drink on their menu. Glad to know and we took our business elsewhere. Something as simple as placing items on a counter would have kept us there. If this is what we witnessed, I can't imagine what goes unnoticed. Just opened recently, bai-tee is a PERFECT upscale coffee shop added to the boardwalk. The open air and plentiful outdoor seating allows you to fully enjoy the beach while sitting down to a nice breakfast or lunch. The food was top notch quality as well. The ham and cheese croissant was good, the farro bowl was plentiful with fresh ingredients, and the cookies were pure goo in the middle! I don't think I've found a better cookie in ocean city. My husband and I were lucky enough to be one of the first to visit Bai-tee Bakery & Café in Ocean City, MD -- a brand-new spot open less than two weeks. The name "Bai-tee" (which means "my house" in Arabic) might make you think this is just a coffee and pastry shop... but don't be fooled. That name seriously undersells what this place offers. Yes, the coffee is excellent and the baked goods are a nice treat -- but the real star of the show is the food. The sandwiches were absolutely phenomenal -- packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and a touch of home-cooked care that's hard to find in most beachside spots. This isn't just a place to grab a croissant and cappuccino (though you can do that too). It's a place where you should sit down, eat a real meal, and savor the menu. Right when you step into this bakery and cafe, you are transported into a different part of the world. The vibe has a European feel. Everyone working at this cafe was very friendly and helpful and one person in particular, a guy named Tudor, guided us to the French bread steak sandwich and he was right on the money! It was so good that after the first bite, and all the others, you wanted to stand on a table a dance! my family and i came down for the sunfest festival & our hotel was attached to this cafe so my boyfriend and i decided to try it & oh my gosh!! it's so adorable!! i love the environment, the plants, the floor is so cute too, call me crazy but i am a sucker for interior design & this place did not disappoint. the food is amazing, the espresso they use for their drinks is also amazing as a barista myself, their coffee is top tier. the staff are all beyond sweet, so positive and very welcoming and professional. overall, this place will definitely be a go to every time i come back down. 10/10 experience! read more

What a gem on the boardwalk! From the elevated patio you get sparkling ocean views, a cool breeze, and a relaxed vibe that feels like a true escape from the chaos below. The coffee was fantastic--my flat white and my husband's shaken hazelnut espresso were both spot-on. We didn't try the croissants or baked goods, but they looked amazing in the case. Went for breakfast with my family of 4. Important to note that it is more of a counter service and not a restaurant with servers. We ordered waters and had to ask a few times to actually get them from someone. Menu descriptions did not exactly match what we got but the food was not bad. The menu described homeade rich and creamy whipped butter, fresh macerated berries, warm local maple syrup but in actuality butter was just squares of regular butter, a few strawberries and blueberries on top, and regular syrup that wasn't warmed or anything. The pancakes we got were slightly burnt which affected the taste. Just not impressed for what they charge for breakfast. read more
