In other parts of the country it would seem a tad pricey, but it's kind of a deal here because San Francisco. The different slices I tried were pretty good. Mozzarella Sticks: Crispy and oozing with cheese. Loved the opportunity to get even more of the pizza sauce. Such comfort. Meatballs: For the appetizer pizza soda combo, you get only one meatball. It's a good meatball for sure. Dense and crumbly. Lots of great sauce. Chicken Wings: Crispy skin, tender meat, tangy sauce. Plus some ranch for dipping. A classic pairing to a pizza. Jalapeño Poppers: Crispy, filled with runny cheese. Not that spicy. The interesting spin was the marinara sauce for dipping. Kinda felt like a stuffed pepper appetizer together. Margarita Pizza: I'm a total sauce lover, so this is right up my alley. More sauce than cheese! And the cheese is slices of nice squeaky fresh mozzarella. Simple, yet delicious. Cheese Pizza: A classic, done well. Crispy dough, tangy sauce and lots of cheese. Made even better with some oregano, parmesan, red pepper flakers and garlic powder. Pesto Potato Garlic Slice: I'm normally not a fan of pizza without tomato sauce, but I make an exception for potato pizza. Something about carb on carb is just so comforting. The roast garlic was a really great addition, something I don't see at most places. The pesto drizzle is great a for a little zing. All Meat Slice: I've unintentionally had vegetarian slices on my past visits, so need to make up for that. This was definitely substantive! Really enjoyed the fancy ham and the chunks of meat. Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich: A departure from pizza for a day. This felt really Italian-American, like a comfort food favorite in any smalltown. Tender eggplant with nice breading. Pretty decent pizza! My friend and I were in the Hayes Valley area and craving pizza, and we decided to stop by Baiano. There are a lot of Italian restaurants in the area, but we wanted something a little more casual. We each got two slices, and they were very filling. I got a Margherita slice and an Hawaiian slice. The Margherita one was a little lacking in the cheese, but the toppings in the Hawaiian made up for it. The AYCE offer on Wednesdays is so worth it in my opinion. Most of their small pizzas cost around $20+ so if you want to eat A LOT of slices then come here during then. It's an hour and 30 mins to eat as many slices as you want for $19.99! Great deal! I high recommend getting the sausage and honey pizza. It is SO GOOD. Long overdue for an update! My boyfriend is a BIG Baiano fan, dating back to his days long ago at SFSU. He raved and raved about their white pizza with honey, sausage, and serranos. Call me a crazy white girl, but that is not a flavor combo I would ever go for. Nevertheless, when we were next craving pizza, we made our way to Baiano for said pizza. We ordered our whole pie at the counter and decided to also grab a bottle of wine to enjoy with the piping hot pizza in the restaurant. There was ample seating which we were welcome to choose while the owner helped us with uncorking and pouring the wine. My boyfriend and the owner reminisced about Baiano's other, now closed, location on 9th in the Inner Sunset. Suffice to say, service was impeccable and ambiance was casual, yet cutesy. Now, I can see why my boyfriend loves this pizza. It's creamy with some kick. Boyfriend LOVES spicy food and serranos are mild for him (LOL, I do not know what that life is like). I was happy the serranos were balanced with a white sauce base, as my taste buds would have otherwise been on FIYAH (another LOL). I have strong preference for Neopolitan style pizza vs this type of crust. Comparing my first experience at Baiano (last minute pizza by the slice right before closing) vs first time with boyfriend + many visits since... I now understand that a fresh pie is the way to go OR stopping for a slice during the lunch hour (for lunch specials!) as the slices move quickly and are therefore much fresher. read more

The crust is so thin and cracker-y, no flavor to it at all. I did like the toppings of Sausage & Honey. But at $5 a slice, I expect good dough these days considering the multiple options that exist in the neighborhood. I could however see the $20 AYCE lunch option being appealing if you are in that type of mood however. Otherwise, go up the street to Gioia Pizza for a far superior slice or whole pie. The honey and sausage pizza was really delicious - the blobs of burrata were super decadent and went well with honey and crispy sausage bits. The crust was crispy and not too thick. The Maui aloha was just ok - I've had better ham and pineapple pizzas. We took our order out, but the interior would be a nice place to eat a quick bite. I was quite shocked at the quality and what I received. I was expecting a lame sub-roll and some Americans cold cuts-- I got a gourmet panini with roasted garlic, olives, arugula, cured meat, topped with cilantro, and parmiggiano. What a steal! The owner works at the register which is nice to see. The employees behind the counter are polite and are quite good at what they do. I walk in and order, but there are no options for adjustments. 1) I ask one of the guys working there if he can make it with pepperoncinis and no cheese (trying to keep it light during the workday and avoid the afternoon slump) - he says he can skip the cheese but can't make any additions. I can see peppers in the ingredient tray right next to olives and tomatoes and everything else but say sure, whatever. 2) I walk over to the cooler to grab a root beer and ask I close the door he shouts over to me 'only can drinks for lunch special.' Alright, fine. 3) The sandwich takes nearly 20mins to make. It is literally a panini - premade ingredients that you press/bake. On top of that, not a soul has entered the shop since I have come in. How 4) I get home and open it up - smells great. But it's covered in parm. The guy had repeated back to me 'ok, no cheese' and then douses it in parm. 5) Halfway through eating the sandwich there's a small chip of brown waxpaper from the box in the sandwich 6) The sandwich has virtually no meat at all. When you read "Authentic Panini" (hilarious name, by the way) you're expecting a nice thick layer of a couple different types of meat. This one has maybe six slices of salami on the entire sandwich. 7) The reason why it's 2stars instead of 1star: the bread is great. Fresh, warm focaccia. Doesn't change the fact that the sandwich is basically focaccia stuffed with way more olives than meat, but gotta give them credit for the one win they had today. read more

There was a slight twist on it so the way it was heated was slightly different but ended up being very flaky of a crust. The sauce was basic and was light, however the cheese wasn't cooked to the best as it was more chunky than smooth. The basil they added didn't really provide the extra flavor you'd expect it to. The people were very nice and place has plenty of seating for a wide variety of party sizes. I am a sucker for fresh mushrooms and house made sausage and Baiano has big yummy mushroom slices and large chunks of juicy sausage (my favorite pizza combo always). Crust has a great crunch. The menu has a nice selection of appetizers and dishes aside from just pizza. I've also tried one of the lunch specials (slice of pizza, choice of appetizer and a drink that was around $14 total.) with the buffalo wings and they were great and I'm kind of a wing snob.
