    Garlic & Clam pizza
    Huy P.

I noticed a long line at this pizza spot while waiting for another restaurant, so I decided to give it a try and here are my thoughts: Food: Clam and garlic pizza (8/10). The flavor was enjoyable, though it wasn't quite as impressive as I expected. The dough was slightly dry and a bit overcooked. I would have liked to try more flavors, but I didn't want to spoil my appetite before dinner. At around $4 per slice, the price was reasonable. Ambiance/service: [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a small, hole-in-the-wall, grab-and-go spot with no seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Be prepared to wait 20-30 minutes when the line is long, although the staff was quick and efficient. Overall, the pizza was decent. I'd give it another shot if I happened to walk by again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it.

This is a super casual, quick-hit pizza spot where you order right at the window. There's no indoor or outdoor seating, so it's purely grab-and-go. They keep a simple menu with six slice options ranging from $3.75 to $4.75. Most are your standard classics like pepperoni and sausage, but the Clam & Garlic slice is a unique standout. I've been stopping by occasionally for the last 10 years, and while it feels like the taste has slightly declined over time, it's still a good, reliable slice for a quick bite.

I was in the area picking something up for work and decided to give this place a try after hearing great things about it. I ordered the clam pizza and the combo pizza. Overall, they have a great selection, and the pizza definitely didn't disappoint. The clam pizza was good, but I wish it had a little more flavor and the crust was a bit crispier. Next time, I'll probably ask for a little extra oven time. The combo pizza was delicious, and both pizzas were generously portioned. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also liked the ordering setup. The walk-up window gives the place a classic neighborhood pizza feel with great vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was friendly, and my order came out quickly. If you're in the city and looking for a solid slice or a whole pizza, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out. I'll be back to try more of their menu.

Came here for a late dinner around 9:30pm and the line was long, but moved relatively fast. Waited about a total of 30-35 minutes standing in line and receiving our order. Clam and garlic: 9/10 An interesting combination for a pizza but paired so well! This was my favorite one and it was not overwhelming fishy at all, the herbs and the garlic on the pizza was delicious! Also, the dough was airy and crispy to eat. I would go back again to just order this one. Pepperoni: 5/10 Pretty standard and mediocre, nothing outstanding about it. The crust for this one was soft and fell apart. Combination: 6/10 The structure of the pizza didn't hold well and fell apart.

It was better than another i tried I believe outta sight pizza. Both had a line waiting to try but tko goes to Golden Boy...lol Was it the best...it was above average no service so no 5 star. It was pizza out the window. Not deduction taken except I only give 5 stars when table service is included. So the pepperoni was nice cheesey not like outta sight also pizza sauce was good The crust was the decision that got the tko buttery crispy and doughy....perfect

This is a classic San Francisco spot locals love. Highly recommend the clam and combo pizzas Watch out though as it can get busy, usually a bit of a line especially on the weekends [[HIGHLIGHT]]No place to sit inside unfortunately, but you can either eat on the street or take it to Washington Square Park nearby.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Very tasty pizza!! I really enjoyed the clam and garlic pizza - def recommend! The ingredients tasted high quality The slices are pretty large - 2 slices had me full. The half pan comes w/ 4 slices! It's pretty affordable given the quantity of food. There's no seating and the line does get pretty long - we went during a festival day so we waited ~30-40 mins but were pretty happy w the pizza afterward! Staff were all very friendly.

Delicious pizza! This is a pick up/to go spot, and there is often times a line. Moves pretty quickly and the staff are very friendly, you do not feel rushed at all. I waited about 15 minutes in line, then another 10-15 for my small pepperoni pizza. The prices are good, not too bad at all. It's about $14.50 for a small pepperoni pizza which is 4 square slices, perfect to share between two. You can also just grab a slice, and I think that comes out pretty quickly. Location is on Green street, off of the main streets (Stockton and Columbus). Parking is tough around the immediate area. Only a 5 minute walk from Washington Square Park. I'll definitely be back for more pizza!

Quick, light, and yummy! It was my first time at Golden Boy Pizza and I was definitely not disappointed. I got the pesto pizza, and WOW! there was so much flavor packed into one slice. The crust was perfect, the pesto tasted fresh, and everything came together so well. It was also the perfect size because I left feeling satisfied without feeling overly full afterward. For the price, this slice was absolutely worth it. Definitely coming back again!

I came here to grab some lunch after meeting with a friend at Kiss of Matcha in North Beach. Since it was a Saturday afternoon, it was quite busy with a queue of people waiting to order and pick up. The line moved reasonably fast though. When it came time to order, I asked for a square each of combo and pesto veggie. After tapping to pay, the cashier gave me a paper receipt to sign and add an optional tip if desired. I thought this was a really inefficient use of time and effort and wish they just had an iPad like other businesses. Onto the goods...I really wanted to love this place, as another one of my friends had raved about their squares. However, I honestly thought the pizza was just okay. To be fair, I wasn't able to eat it fresh right after I got it. My parking meter was expiring, and unfortunately, I was parked in a zone with a strict 2-hour limit, so I had to move my car and wait until I got home to try the pizza squares. Still, I think they should've survived the car ride home without too much change in their quality. When I finally dug into the pizza, I found it soggy, perhaps from the grease, which was a bit of a letdown. I blamed it on the car ride home but also made note that I wasn't that impressed.

One of the best pizzas in Little Italy. Takeout only establishment but great prices and the best clam and garlic pizza I've ever had. Lines form pretty quickly during meal times. If you're ordering whole pies, recommend calling order in for quicker pick up.

    Eric A.

5/5 taste, familiarity, cost. This is an old institution and always desired place. Sometimes the wait can deter me but it usually goes fast. The staff is usually not or never rude but not too memorable either but I would say they are kind. This is a to-go spot only so eat while walking, at the park, at home or in w car.

    It's a street order/pickup window with no dine-in available.

I want the pizza preferred by polyester track suit guys with elastic waistbands driving camaros. is Golden Boy the place?

Golden Boy is the pizza preferred by all.. including polyester track suit guys with elastic waistbands driving camaros, mustangs, and Honda civics. You might also see a line a mile long when you get there. So bring your patience.

How do you order for pick up?

Order at the window or call them

    Do they take Apple Pay?

No, they only take cash or card.

    Is the veggie pasta vegan?

I doubt it since it has cheese.

Is golden boy back to selling slices? I don't want a whole box.

    Yes

Is golden boy open on Christmas Eve and until when?

How many people does a half sheet feed?

There are six slices per half sheet and you'll probably need at least two slices per person so it should feed around three average people or two hungry ones!

Yes, when I went in December they took credit cards

Hi. Im 5 months pregnant and have been craving golden boy pizza for weeks!! Before we make the drive from Riverside to SF on Saturday, are there shorter hours? A lot of things close earlier nowadays and I just want to make sure

If you get there before 8pm, you should be good. I would call and place order in advance because they're busy (which is a good thing).

Why is are they closing so early?

    Due to covid-19.

Are their hours still from 12-8/9pm? Only cash and not credit cards?

Yep 12-8pm. They are accepting both cash and credit cards!

What kind/brand of pizza sauce do they use?

    Girl, who cares. It's bomb.com

Do i have to order a full sheet in one type or can i mix it. 1/2 and 1/2?

If you want vegetarian, Hawaiian, Pepperoni all in one sheet, you can mix your slices. You can mix any pizza.

    Does the pesto contains nuts?

Hmm from my what I know, isn't pesto made with pine nuts? That's the only pesto I have ever known so I imagine this has it too. Is there any other kind? I am now intrigued to know! Thx!

Does 'sheet' mean half a baking sheet of pizza or a full sheet of pizza?

Sheet means full baking sheet of pizza

    Good for kids?

Yup ton of fam with kids wait in line to order and seating availability.

Solid food and vibes at Itria!…read more My friend and I started with their Rosemary Focaccia with Garlic-Anchovy Oil and one of their Crudos (the Bluefin Tuna, I believe), and they were both delicious. I really like that they went a little more funky with the dipping oil for the bread - it was loaded with umami! The Crudo was super fresh, and all the accoutrements worked really well together. Embarrassingly, I cannot remember the name of my or my friend's pasta, and I can see that it's no longer on the menu for this season... but the TLDR is that they were both great! Decent portion, seasoned well, and pasta cooked perfectly for me. My only gripe was with dessert. When I looked up the item I ended up ordering, it looked like a fruit pie, which I love. Give me fruit pie. What I got was sweet foam with stewed fruit and crumbles... not fruit pie. I think this could be for someone, as it tasted fine, but it was not at all what I thought I'd get based on the name. Just ask in advance what it actually is, because you might want to get dessert elsewhere. All in all, I enjoyed Itria. It's a solid spot if you're in deep Mission!

Tonight, we ordered quite a bit of food, and everything was delicious. We had no issues with the service throughout our meal, left a good tip, and overall had a great dining experience, until the very end. After dinner, we called an Uber and stepped outside when it was getting close to arriving. Unfortunately, our Uber driver cancelled, and it was very cold outside so we went back inside to ask if we could sit and wait at the bar for the next Uber. Unfortunately, we were completely ignored. One server in particular, who was wearing army-print pants, was serving tables near the front where we were standing. She made eye contact with us, looked away, and then began talking about us to the workers behind the bar. At no point did anyone acknowledge us or let us know whether we could wait inside. For the remainder of the time, they avoided eye contact and continued to ignore us until our Uber finally arrived. What made this especially disappointing is that we genuinely love the restaurant and have supported it enough to give gift certificates to our own family. We weren't asking for anything unreasonable, we simply wanted to wait inside for 15 minutes because our rides kept canceling and it was cold outside. Even if the bar wasn't available for us to wait at, a simple "I'm sorry, we can't accommodate that" would have been completely understandable. The food is still excellent, but the way we were treated at the end of the night left a really bad impression. I hope this was an isolated experience because we've otherwise really enjoyed Itria but we will likely not dine here again. It felt really unwelcoming and left a bad taste after paying over $350 + 20%tip for our meal.

Amelia recommended one pasta dish per person in the party, to share family style (which ended up working well for us, since we also got three appetizers, and finished the meal with a small amount of yummy leftovers for tomorrow) so that's what we did, along with the starters... We got the "big juicy meatballs with tomato and pancetta," which were incredible; the bread was delicious and certainly is not just a side to the amazing (definitely juicy) herbed tender meatballs. I'd definitely get this again, along with the grilled zucchini with worm salt and mint, which was so flavorful and tasty. We also got the smokey romano beans with fire roasted tomato, which was also really good but just keep in mind the emphasis on the smokey flavor! It wasn't my cup of tea but that's for sure a personal thing. For pastas, I'd rank them in this order: 1. our favorite was today's lasagna du jour, which was mushroom! So delicious, with a crispy cheesy crust, soft tender interior, and an almost caramelized tomato sauce accompanying. 2. Reginette with pork sugo (meat sauce) and spicy turnip greens was next, which had wonderful flavor with the tomato-based sauce and pieces of pork but if you like it slightly softer texture it might not be for you (same with the fusilli; the go-to preparation is aldente!). 3. Fusilli alla vodka with tomato, calabrian chili, cream, basil, and added garlic butter shrimps; this one's sauce felt a little underwhelming and more watery than creamy, and I'm just now realizing that although the menu said four garlic butter shrimp (an extra $7), we only got three. I think I'd come back for the lasagna and/or to buy the pasta from their expansive stock, cook it a bit longer, and serve it covered in a decadent creamy sauce.

While waiting in the restroom line, I told a staff member about all this, and the worker seemingly went up to the front to find out what's going on. The line took a few minutes, my friends also bumped into me, and I told them I'd likely wait for them outside the business post-restroom while they finished their wine. Already reported to the Mayor's Office. Maybe I'll add BBB. Should be honest and equitable! Four out of 200+ reviews by me have been one star, so I rarely share negativity. It's all rather unfortunate as other visits here went off without an issue. I warned a group of four about all this while I waited out front, and after talking to the front door folks, they left and thanked me for the advice. Please be careful if you visit here. . . .
