    Margarita flight

Stopped by here on a whim as we were coming from the Cape. So glad we did as it was excellent! Service was great. Food arrived promptly. Clam chowder was flavorful and creamy. Anytime, that I do not need to add salt to my chowder to add flavor is a win. Plus it came out hot. I can't stand when restaurants serve luke warm chowder. The grilled avocados are a must! The margarita flight was not very good and tasted like fake mix so I suggest avoiding that. Hard to even tell the different flavors but love the concept. Hubby had chicken sandwich and loved it. I had the lobster roll and asked for poached w butter which they accommodated. Large space inside and plenty of parking. We will definitely return.

This black bit was suppose to be the top of the pie crust.

I'm never one to put a restaurant under a negative spotlight. I've been a server for 10 years so I understand that restaurants have their good and bad days. Tonight I ordered a chicken pot pie to go. I'm appalled that this was even allowed to leave the kitchen. Giving two stars on the premise that their food is usually very good, I have no idea what happened. But this is just unacceptable.

    Steak tips were perfection.

Excellent service! They were very accommodating to our large party. Everyone's food and drinks were delicious. We will absolutely be back. The renovations are wonderful as well.

Lovee this place but there were some hiccups. First got there and we were quoted a 40 min wait, and unfortunately it took a little longer but that wasn't a problem. Then, service was a little slow, but the place was super busy and packed with people so I guess there was a good reason for it. The food was super tasty like usual so I was happy, but it seemed like it was sitting for a sec before it got delivered to the table because it was luke warm. I'll still be returning because in my opinion it was just an off night! Their food is great!

Boy, I miss Lindsey's this place was so bad! Got seated for a girls night three of us sat near the bar didn't get acknowledged for I don't know 15 minutes. When are we just finally did come over she took a drink order, but by that point, we knew what we wanted for food too, so she had to call her back. Waited for our margarita flights just sitting at the bar for an additional 20-25 minutes. Finally they came in way too. Sweet. Caesar salad was wilted and disgusting. Never again. This place was horrible. Service was horrible. Food was horrible yeah no

The cook on the haddock was perfection.

Out for another weekend drive with Dad exploring new sights and sounds. We ended up at the Cape Cod Canal watching boats go by. On the way home, coming through Wareham, we found the Towne Tavern. It was the first visit for both of us. Our server, Julia, was pleasant and engaging. She rose to the challenge when I had her pick my lunch and surprise me (I gave her a few things to choose from). Dad had the Steak Tips and Julia choose the Baked Haddock - Towne Newburg Style for me. Both meals had generous portions and were prepared to perfection. I'd never had fish prepared this way. "Towne Newburg Style" meant that the haddock was covered in a layer of their seafood bisque prior to being baked. The result was next level. Chunks of lobster meat and other seafoods were on every other forkful.

Not only is the setting home-y, but the staff is all very kind and quick to greet guests. The good old home feel doesn't stop with the setting or service, but it carries through to the food as well. The food comes out looking like a true, delicious, home-cooked meal with the flavor to back it up! For an appetizer I ordered the Charlie's Chowder, which is the best chowder I've ever had, in New England or otherwise. It comes packed with scallops, lobster, and cod, and is absolutely to die for. For my main course, I ordered the Lemon Caper Cod, which was also wonderful. The piece of cod is huge, and is served with a bed of rice, seasonal veggies (mine were carrots) and, of course, capers. The fish was tender and cooked to perfection and, while I'm not typically a huge carrot fan, the steamed carrots they made were sweet and tasty! If I knew how they make them I'd become a much bigger fan of carrots. From start to finish, everything about this place is top notch! A definite must try!

I wasn't starving, so I ordered what SEEMED to be lighter; Sea and Sand, which consists of a stuffed quahog and a cup of Charlie's Chowder. Just a quahog and a cup of chowder! You will NEVER have chowder with more seafood in it! At least 4 scallops, a large lump of crab, some pieces of lobster, and a lotta fish. A bowl would be a meal.

Not divey, but you walk in and you're basically at the bar. There's bar seating, a few tables on the side, a few in the back. People were eating and drinking wherever. Service: Prompt, friendly. The bartender was the owner, chatting with a local about working where he lives and drinking while he works. But very friendly and open to visitors here. And no overwhelming Boston accent. If you're not local, you'll do fine. Food: OK, I was here on an impulse search for dessert. They happened to have fresh homemade donut holes to go, so I got some cinnamon dusted. And by dusted, I mean WHOA NELLY that's a lot! And the donut holes were also huge. And they came with warm caramel dipping sauce. I couldn't put it down. While I was waiting (again, didn't take long, they were just shaking the topping on in the back), I looked over and saw bar pies that honestly? To this North Jerseyan? Looked like good tasty pizza. In Massachusetts. You have been warned. If you stay on Route 25 to bypass Bourne on your way to or from the bridges, you're not just adding mileage to your car to save a little time. You're missing out on the best place in a country mile.
