Partner and I decided to try some Argentinian steaks, so we stopped by Baires Grill. We found it to be very comfortable with decent decor and a well stocked full bar. We each had a couple of Bacardi and Sprites which were of decent pours and then perused their special luncheon menu. We both chose to have their skirt steaks with fries. He ordered his well done and I ordered mine rare, but noting my waiter didn't seem to understand, ordered "crudo," the term I always used without any problem in Buenos Aries. When our steaks arrived, mine was well done and his was rare. I merely wanted to change plates, but no, the waiter scooped them up and took them back to the kitchen. Great! then we both ended up with well done , but I must admit, true to Argentinian meats, tough.and chewy. I say that as Argentinian beef is not bred for tenderness or corn feed, unlike USA beef. Then, of course, they don't use blade or hammer tenderizers. Well done, hence flavorless, as well as tough and chewy; to me not eatable. Fortunately the restaurant manger saw and recognized the problem, offered to replace our dishes or allow us to leave without charge. My Colombian husband and I stopped in here on a whim. Hoping for a nice drink. Cold inside. Empty. The bar seating was fine but it took a while for the bartender to even come back because they were talking with other employees at the end of the bar. We order the drinks. The drinks themselves were good. But we did not have a second drink because we were not even offered one. Despite being the only people seated at the bar, the bartender did not look our way or offer another drink or attend to us for 45 minutes. When we finally made eye contact he brought us the check without it being asked for. I wish I remembered the change in my purse to leave exact. Made Christmas Day reservations with my friend. We sat at a high top in the bar. The place was lovely and welcoming. We had cocktails and wine and then ordered dinner. Shared a Caesar salad- it was very good. He ordered a ribeye medium rare and I ordered salmon with mashed potatoes. His ribeye came out almost raw, but it was a quick fix by our server. Baires Grill is a nice spot with a laid-back, upscale vibe. We were seated at the swings, which was a fun touch and made for a unique dining experience. It's a cute setup, though it looks like the furniture could use a bit more care. Animals and weather will always take a toll on outdoor seating, so I'd recommend they start covering it to keep things fresh. That said, I didn't regret sitting there--it still added to the experience. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from an Argentine steakhouse, but I was pleasantly surprised by the drinks. I had both the cucumber gimlet and an espresso martini, and both were excellent. So good, in fact, we went in for a second round with no hesitation. To start, we had the shrimp appetizer, and it was very solid. The shrimp came in a buttery sauce with some bread on the side, and it hit the spot. The table bread itself was also a win--fresh, warm, and well-baked. For entrées, we had the steak with a side salad. The steak was fresh and cooked well, and the salad was crisp. However, the sides overall felt a bit underwhelming. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out either. We also ordered the lobster ravioli, and that dish didn't quite land. The filling inside the ravioli was good, but the sauce tasted like plain cream and butter, it didn't really complement the dish or elevate the flavor. It was edible, but forgettable. With several locations to choose from, we came to their Las Olas Boulevard location. The food was good, the service was good until it was time to pay: the server just sort of disappeared but hey, maybe he was just letting us relax for a while. The watermelon martini was delicious: cold, with a hint of mint and a really cold small watermelon ball as a garnish. The prosciutto di Parma tortellini in pesto creamy sauce was really good with the prosciutto been crispy and in tiny pieces. The tortellini pieces were small also which was fantastic. The onion soup was delicious and finally the almendrado as a dessert was nice: ice cream with chocolate sauce and crushed nuts. We will definitely be coming back. read more

A few of us were having dinner down the block so we stopped in here for a quick Happy Hour cocktail to wet our whistle. This place is beautiful and comfortable, and was surprisingly uncrowded for a Friday night. They even have a "private" table in a wine room. We bellied up to the bar (Ladies, they have the purse hooks!) and we were greeted by a charming young man named Manolo. Super Cute place on las olas. I'd say one of the better restaurants on the strip. The service was good and everyone was very attentive and friendly. The starter bread was warm and delicious especially with the amazing Chimichurri which also goes great with the steak. We tried a few things on the menu. The skirt steak was good but a bit chewy for my liking. The Pappardelle pasta was cooked perfectly not a ton of flavor with the mushroom but was still good. The Baires Milanesa was good and crispy. I think it would have been better with marinara sauce so will def try that one next time. Also the French onion soup was delicious a lot of broth and cheesy goodness. However, over our last two visits we noticed prices have increased significantly, and what ultimately made us decide not to return is the automatic 18% gratuity/service charge added to the bill. If an 18% charge is your policy, it should be clearly and prominently disclosed upfront (on the menu and before ordering), not as a surprise at the end. I've been here 3 or 4 times now, each time my boyfriend and I just grab a seat at the bar. The restaurant is beautiful and also has a covered outdoor patio, along with 4 outdoor bar seats. All the times we've been we have gotten great service from their bartenders. The drinks are always good and the food we've tried is great! It's definitely one of our favorite date night spots in Fort Lauderdale. I also love that they give bread to snack on while you wait for food and drinks. Free bread will always win me over. Last time I was there I got an arugula salad and added a chicken Milanesa which was delicious. My boyfriend got the pappardelle with mushroom ragu and his only complaint was that some of the mushrooms were a bit chewy, as if they were dried mushrooms that hadn't fully rehydrated. My favorite thing I've tried on the menu is their short ribs agnolotti gratin. I've ordered it twice and it's fantastic. The atmosphere is elegant and beautiful inside Baires, and the service is incredibly attentive and creates an upscale experience. Our food was very good, with very juicy meat, amazingly rich mashed potatoes, and perfectly crisp french fries. However, I'm only giving this 4 stars because I personally thought the food could have been more flavorful for the price. My chicken breast was an excellent grilled chicken, but they could elevate it by offering some kind of marinade. I was also surprised that my partner's Milanese wasn't served with any kind of sauce besides ketchup. So I decided to try this place after seeing many Instagram ads for this restaurant. It seems like it would have a nice ambiance and the menu looked right up my alley. Let me start by saying when I first arrived the wait time wasn't too bad. I ordered one of the shareable steak dinners as well as the Gnocchi( I was on a date) a prosciutto for an app and we also go the bread. We also got one drink each (because the server never checked on us after delivering the appetizer out and it did take a while for the food to come) While waiting for the food the server only gave my date one water. I had sparkling but she still never refilled the cup. She was too busy giggle around with co workers to the point my date had to get up and get their own water and many of the times she was also no where in sight. I noticed the other servers taking care of their tables no problem. With the steak I will say it was really good. When she delivered it she left so fast we couldn't even order more cocktails. So there was also that as well. When the bill came I asked if they could remove the service charge. The waiter said she doesn't know if they could do that and she said she'll ask the manager. Turn out the manager was the one she was she was fooling around with the most ( I noticed this when she walked over to get her as she was the one she was talking to the most instead of servicing her tables) When the manager came she asked if I had wanted to speak with her and I repeated the questions She said she couldn't but she would comp the bill but also never asked what the issue was but I did politely let her know the food was good but the service wasn't great at all. This was such a great anniversary dinner. From the service to the food everything was fantastic. We came in on a Friday evening and even tho we didn't have a reservation we were immediately sat. They had light upbeat music and we even watched the end of a performance. Our server started us with bread and butter and brought chimichurri and salsa to the table. We ordered a beef and a chicken fried empanadas. They were both crispy and hot. Both packed with meat and very flavorful. The watermelon cocktail was not too sweet and complemented my food well. Great restaurant on the las olas strip. I enjoyed my drink more than my lunch but no complaints overall. We came in for late after lunch so the place was empty. Our waitress was very nice and patient as decided on what to eat. Normally when ordering salmon I am used to being asked what temperature I would like it but that didn't happened. Honestly there are very few restaurants that I would give one star for everything usually there is a redeeming quality somewhere but this place didn't have one redeeming quality. The service was slow and inattentive except for when they were taking food from us mid bite. We sat waiting for the check for atleast 20 minutes. It felt like we were holding us hostage. The food was beyond bland, the tuna salad had no flavor it was honestly so disappointing. Baires Grill was one of the restaurants that hosted the wine pairing group I belong to. I remember walking in and saying to myself, "wow nice place". The owner came up with a prefix menu which had great food items on it which paired well with the wines. The large table and booths were reserved for our group. We were able to walk in without a reservation a couple times which is nice on Las Olas. We love the Milanesas because it's a good price point and portion (and tasty of course). You get a huge breaded cutlet and then the toppings are customized with a few options. My sister and I split one and just added an extra side and we were stuffed! Our service was poor from start to finish. The waiters took our plates before we could finish the food. I was literally cutting the food on my plate and they took it away from under me!! We met up with some friends for dinner in the middle of the week and though it wasn't a bad experience, a few kinks needed ironing. We arrived a little before our friends, so we had a drink at the bar while we waited. The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful and very modern. The bar was spacious and clean. We each ordered a cocktail and our bartender was very attentive. When our friends arrived, we were seated and our server came right away. We were a party of 4 and we each ordered a cocktail, but only 3 arrived. We figured the 4th one was on the way. About 5 minutes passed when we decided to flag down a member of the staff (who looked to be a supervisor/manager) letting him know we were missing a drink. He rectified it right away, but it was clearly forgotten. Despite only a few others table filled, our server didn't come back until we were almost done with our drinks and took our orders. When our orders came, one came out with the incorrect cut of meat. Our server didn't serve the food, so we had to wait until he came back around to let him know an order was incorrect. Because so much time had passed and we were hungry, we just agreed to keep/eat that piece of meat. Our waiter apologized. Again the experience wasn't bad, but details were looked over and/or omitted and service was a bit slow (but friendly!) so that's the reason for the 3 stars. Food was flavorful and drinks were good. The service was poor and I got tired of requesting drinks to be refilled, items to be brought to the table and correcting my order after it came out incorrectly. My party was not a large party as we were only 6; however I will have taken my hard earned money to another establishment we're I will have received better service. Just 1 Star for the ambience decor, had reservations for my family for Father's Day today since we had a good experience back in February. The waitress was not friendly and not attentive at all. My short Ribs was chewy, and the 2 filet mignon was undercooked . Then I ordered my steak replacing the short ribs after a very long long wait and everyone had Eaton I was still waiting for my steak, waitress never came back except the manager at the time which was very rude & disrespectful to me in front of my family. He tried to explain to me what was going on but I'm well aware how long a filet takes to cook. This Argentinian steak house restaurant is located in Las Olas Boulevard. Unfortunately they don't offer valet parking. We ubered, but the other half of our party had a bit of a time finding parking. Nevertheless, we had a great birthday dinner at Baires Grill. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. We started with some drinks. I had a martini, which was very good. I also had a pear salad, and some empanadas as appetizers. Our dinner was of course steak that we shared with some side dishes. Now, I'm not a steak expert, but this particular steak was just ok. I don't know what cut it was, I let my steak savvy friends decide that, I believe it was Churrasco. It was a bit strange, very chewy on the outside, undercooked on the inside, more rare than medium. Everything else was delicious. We washed our food down with a bottle of Veuve Cliquot, which makes everything better. They have the most amazing banana ice cream I've had since I was a child. By far my favorite part of the meal. Service was very good. For what we paid for the meal and the tip, I wouldn't expect anything less. I didn't notice their decor much, they do have a nice bar area and tables look very nice with white table clothes. It felt light. There wasn't a lot of people, I did notice tables were set close together, so maybe it would have felt claustrophobic had there been more patrons. We sat at a booth. Both my partner and in ordered the skirt steak and baked potato as well as a cocktail. My margarita was very nice!! The waitress brought out bread along with 2 "sauces" that I didn't realize until a day later were meant to top my steak. I feel not explaining that was a miss on the waiter's part and in hindsight I likely looked silly putting the chimichurri on my bread. Since I didn't realize it was meant to top the steak, I felt the steak was missing something, albeit tasty! I would order it again. I would choose something other than a loaded baked potato next time as it was very plain and there was no salt nor pepper on the table. 2 meals and 2 cocktails came out to around $140.
