We love Baja Fresh bit had never been to this one in Seal Beach. I should have turned around and walked away when I whiffed an unfavorable smell upon entering. Customer service was good, but the chips had that toxic old grease taste and my fish taco tasted like old fish . I knew I'd be sick if I continued eating therefore I stopped. My son enjoyed the kid bean burrito (hence a star) and the salsa (second star). We were already far from the location when we began eating which is why I didn't return it. I just threw it away. . I don't like wasting food or money. Today i woke and my stomach isn't happy. Will do a water fast to flush that mess out of my system. read more

On a road trip & stopped for a quick lunch. My mom and I got the Baja bowls, hers with shrimp and I got mine with just veggies so much flavor in both our bowls. I'm sensitive when it comes to spice but it was just the right amount. It's pretty good healthy spot, the salsa bar is awesome. Tons of amazing salsas to choose from cilantros & limes. While waiting for our order my husband observed the cook dropping tortillas on the ground and picking them up and putting them back on the grill. Needless to say we walked right out of there, $20.63 lighter in the pockets. No, I'm not going to call the GM whose number is on the receipt, because what's he going to do- tell on himself? With so many options close by: chipotle, rubios, wahoos, not sure I'll be back. They have a great salsa bar but they seem to skimp on everything else. I had a Baja burrito with carnitas. This is supposed to have guac which is why I ordered it but they literally just put enough on it to color the tortilla. You can not taste it. Pretty small serving too, good thing I ordered 2 with a bogo coupon. If I just had one I'd probably be hungry still. My wife had grilled shrimp salad and there were 7 shrimps, which is usually a good thing, but these shrimps were like super small. She wasn't impressed either. I was in the Seal Beach location. I placed my order with Eddie. He was very polite and kind. He told me I could get salsa at the salsa bar as I waited for my food. I accidentally spilled some salsa on the floor and asked for some paper towels to pick it up. He said don't worry about it! I'll get it. We went back and forth a few times and he cleaned it up. What happened to Baja Fresh? Or is it just this location? My husband and I came here today for lunch. We both ordered burritos. Mine was a shrimp Baja, my husband got a shrimp ultimo. Both of them were TINY compared to what I remember. We didn't get our free sides of tortilla chips...we were charged for a side of chips. The food was just alright. There could have been less "filler" and more shrimp in both burritos. But the taste was still good. I don't think we'll be back here. We'll just go up to the Rubio's which isn't much further up on Seal Beach Blvd. Disappointing. read more

Quick service. I'm not really reviewing all of Baja Express here, but just this particular location. If you like the chain, you will probably like it here too. Lots of indoor seating and a few outdoor spots. Plenty of parking! Right next to a hotel--it is the closest good food to Ayres Hotel, at least walkable. read more

Oh My Gosh...The last time i went to Baja Fresh I had a pretty bad food experience and decided to give them some time. I just came back and it has gotten worse. You now have the young cute girl at the counter with the way too wavy and long hair and a dirty shirt taking your order. The cooks prepare your food with the enthusiasm of your local Taco Bell and the supervisor who is handing you your food stepping over cups on the floor that look like they have been there for a while. The Salsa bar was not stocked and dirty and the biggest food FAIL!!!! THE FOOD SUCKED. The beans were burnt, the tortilla on the burrito was stale, the rice was dry. They gave us the wrong meat on the Nachos...UGHHHHH I WILL NOT GO BACK.... NO STARS FOR THIS PLACE!!!! read more

I never write reviews but the service today was unbelievably bad so I feel like it's necessary. We ordered online at 6:00pm and our food wasn't ready until 7:15. The cashier was rude and not helpful at all. I would expect a free item or something as an apology for the terrible service but no one seemed to care. Can't help but feel they are cutting corners by replacing meat with dry rice. Will not be going back to Baja Trash. I can't help but feel ripped off after my visit. The service was good, but the baja shrimp taco was lacking shrimp and flavor. They only put 4 very small shrimps on the taco for about $4.00. Definitely not worth it. I love this place, great service, always fast, and they have very high quality meats....not the cheap stuff. I'll never go to Rubio's again....they messed up my simple order waaay to many times now. My order here is always right! Fish tacos here are great, carne asada burrito is the best! I don't mind paying for the higher quality food at all. What's not to like about healthy food that is freshly prepared? Their pinto beans are second to none. I recently did a low calorie diet. After quitting the shakes, the next step is to move on to REAL food. Here's my first meal. It was lovely. The side of grilled veggies isn't listed on the menu, but it is shown in calorie brochure. The last time I have had lunch (or dinner) at this location was about two or three years ago when this place was actually COOL; now, I'm actually not that surprised that a lot of (or even all) the Baja Fresh locations have been closed down or getting replaced with either more Chipotle's; Rubio's; or Chronic Tacos. The food just tasted HORRIBLE! Why did I give this location a measly 1/5 stars? I'll tell you why: 1) When I stepped into the door, I thought that the place seemed like it was a ghost town. Not a lot of people were dining in, and did you know that I had to wait about 10-15 minutes for my food to get prepared?? The food at the Seacliff location in HB was ready in about 2-3 minutes!! 2) The food? Not even worth the damn price!! I had the seafood tacos, and the fish taco just didn't do me justice (the garlic lime shrimp taco was okay, though). The filling for my fish taco was NOT fresh (even though they said it was "wild-caught") and they used WAY too much breading to deep-fry the damn thing! I love the wahoo/mahi grilled fish bowl. You get so much in it, and you can add all you want. Very healthy and tasty. Staff here is really nice and attentive if you ask for anything and it's easy parking. One of my go-to lunch places. I've been going every week for years and they haven't messed up an order once. It isn't really "mexican food" but labels are pointless anyway, the food is quality for what you are paying for. read more
