This is the only Baja Fresh close by so my parents and I come here often. That being said, recently every time we come the people never understand our request for pico, Guac and sour cream on the side! I don't usually review chains, but Wendy's Mexican food offering is a chain masquerading as a middle of the road fresh Mexican restaurant. There's nothing in this place that you can't get with higher quality and better value at a number of nearby Mexican food joints, including Burrito Jr, Yucatan Grill, or Burrito Loco. I don't like the interior, and I think most of the offerings are overpriced and under delivering. read more

Baja Fresh to me is white people mexican food, except, I'm never disappointed in the tastiness of the food here. My favorite thing about Baja Fresh though- the SALSA! The Salsa Bar at Baja Fresh deserves it's own review, but because I need give credit to the restaurant itself, I'll keep it brief. All of their salsas are always fresh, chilled, and constantly filled. They have some new fresh Mango salsa with big chunks of fresh mango and a Mango Chipotle salsa that I love. You can never go wrong with their "black salsa" although I think it's a Raosted Tomato Salsa or something like that. Their burritos are pretty good sized, and unfortuntely, I was installed with a guilt system where I feel bad if I don't eat at least 80% of my burrito if not all of it... so I stuff myself. Not anymore!! They have a Kid's Bean and Cheese Burrito that you can add chicken or carne asada to. It's the perfect size and you get applesauce. I mean, Lord knows every burrito should come with applesauce. I also love the Pronto Guacamole. Sometimes I'm starving by the time I get to the place, so I order this and have it to nibble on while I'm waiting for my food. FYI to wet burrito lovers: Less than impressed with the sauce they use to make wet burritos. Too much chili powder. I like Baja Fresh. Este Baja Fresh es muy mal. They are listed in OC Register as accepting the 50% off burrito coupon from Facebook, but this outlet refused to honor it. I was planning to order my family dinner but walked out and went to Rubios instead. I will NOT go to any Baja Fresh because of their deceptive business practices, even for a school fundraisers. I recently read this company was on the danger list for closing and I can now see why they are doomed. Baja Fresh needs to just go already. read more

This review is for pretty all of the Baja Fresh locations I've been to in OC. Is it really that hard to make a decent chicken taco? Apparently so cuz even their more expensive "hand made" tacos taste like they were dipped in rotten vinegar. Tough to get a decent taco from a big franchise like this. Served me food with a metal wire in it that pierced my mouth when I bit down on it. This place should be closed as a health hazard. The owner Adolfo Cid admitted that the metal came from a cleaning brush. Took him 10 days to respond. Head office blew me off to Adolfo Cid as he was a franchisee. I looked up his heath inspection record ( which is public information) , and its pathetic. Numerous issues with sanitation, food preparation, food storage. on and on. Why is this place still open. Had our order to go. If was at closing time and we try not to go to placed at closing time but they said " come on in". We had a mango chicken salad, a nacho chicken burrito, and a cheese quesadilla. Received an email about a coupon buy one get one free burrito for Sunday in which I was looking forward to enjoying all weekend. I went Sunday and they would not accept my coupon due to it was not printed and the store was not helpful. I am more upset that I wrote corporate about the issue and they needing to get up on the times about coupons being scans through phones or a code they can use at the store. I stopped here with my family. We ordered a enchilada steak burrito, chips and queso, and nachos. First of all, nothing tasted fresh. Secondly, and most importantly, only the nachos were edible. It seemed like the enchilada sauce had been sitting on the burrito for quite some time and was pretty dry. The only thing notable about the burrito was that it was chewy for some reason and flavorless. Overall, it was inedible. My mom took two bites and threw it away. The chips and queso were not good either. The chip were ok, I mean they're chips so it's pretty hard to frick up. The queso I think was made in house. Had they have used regular cheese out of a can I wouldn't be complaining because it would have been edible. The queso was a reddish brown color from something they added. I don't usually care about the color of anything but I'm trying to figure out what they added to make it taste so bad. Even though I don't think it came from a can, it had sort of a metallic flavor like it had been sitting in something metallic probably for about a month or two. I don't have a problem with people experimenting and making a different type of queso sauce but it also has to taste good. As far as the nachos, they were edible but nothing on them was fresh and everything in the nachos didn't taste different from the other ingredients. Everything was also a little expensive considering we threw 2/3 items away. I wouldn't give this food to a homeless man. It was worse that school cafeteria food. If you're in the mood for Mexican eat literally anywhere else. I am not very picky; I will eat just about anything but this was inedible just overall. read more

Carolene Rinden (who I traveled on Southwestern Airlines to Los Alamitos DFG with) had the tacos too and she enjoyed them. I had the Catch 22 Combo for $10.00 (cheap), I got a soda, pinto beans, grilled fish taco, grilled shrimp taco, Spanish rice. The grilled fish taco was very delicious too. Since Carolene and the other lady from Redding had the rent-a-cars, I had to go where they wanted to go to eat, but they picked a good place. First the cashier was unable to use my gift card because she had selected "cash" and for some reason could not cancel or undue this request. So instead of using the Gift $ I had to use my $. I ordered a shrimp taco, a chicken taco and a bowl of tortilla soup. The soup was disqusting - it was definetely the worst tortilla soup I have ever had. The shrimp taco was OK but next time I would get it without the cabbage. It just didn't work for me.
