I was really craving some pancakes, but I wanted to be healthy too, so I came here for their Buckwheat Pancakes. They tasted really really good. I don't think I'm ever going to go back to buttermilk pancakes after knowing that this is an option. I got the regular order, and it was the perfect amount of food. Wish I had taken some to go. Their prices are really reasonable as well, and service is very fast! Baji's seems to be pretty popular, since it was almost full at 9:30am on a Saturday! Not sure I would call this a hole in the wall kind of a place but it might belong on Triple D...Just found the place using the very friendly Yelp app and....damn I'm glad I did. Sitting kind of all by itself I almost drove by the place in my haste. Greated right away when I arrived and ten almost, I say almost overwhelmed by the breakfast menu options. Looking around at other patrons plates of food it all looked great. It's not a big place but they have this great covered outdoor seating option. I'm marking this place as an " I'll be back" location and trust me. I really don't do that often. Great parking options and a nice sized lot. Clean and friendly. Charming atmosphere and friendly staff. The reason for 3 star review is that the food is fairly bland and expensive for the quality. I opted for biscuits and gravy plate. It wasn't what I expected, both biscuits and gravy were underwhelming, there were also egg shells in my eggs. My boyfriend got chicken and waffles where the chicken was mostly bone. Two tables next to us got in an argument over one of them having a dog in the patio area. Not sure if I would come back because what I ordered was a miss. Best breakfast place in Mountain View! Their omelettes and skillets are fairly generous in portions and tasted quite fresh. I've tried different omelettes they offered but I've found building my omelette is a personal favorite. Also, the huevos rancheros was delicious but the only gripe about it is they use like a generic salsa topping which was mildly disappointing. Their fresh black coffee is the best brew I've had at a breakfast place. Smooth and not a dark roast. Another must try is their Arnold Palmer which is lemonade with ice tea! This place has an amazingly competent staff and servers. You get what you ordered and it's especially fast when it isn't as busy. The server we had was very attentive and efficient in getting us things we need. Refilling coffee, or condiments etc... I love that there's plenty of parking, too! BAJI'S omelet is spectacular. It had an explosion of flavors that combined together to give you perfection in every bite. It's a chef special filled with a ton of ingredients that I'd never pick to put in my omelet personally, but so happy I did. I ventured out of my comfort zone and was definitely NOT disappointed. Ordered the first one. Turned out it is JUST the chicken fried steak, no egg no potato. The staff was apologetic and tried to upsell. I think I would pay more for eggs and potatoes if the online description clearly states it is just the steak. I consider this a VERY DECEPTIVE practice. Will never go back. We will continue our search for a replacement option for Bill's Cafe in Palo Alto which closed after the unfortunate fire. read more

We had to remind him about my coffee too because it prob wouldn't have came. I will give him props though for actually taking my food allergies seriously and I didn't die. I ordered their Charleston Skillet and the portion was just enough. If I had ordered extras of anything, I wouldn't have been able to finish. That skillet left me full and happy. We were looking forward to a brunch in a long time and thought of supporting local businesses. First time customer. Tables were well spaced out for social distancing. We ordered west coast and shoreline omelettes and Cajun fries with cheese. Tea and latte for drinks. Service was good but food was just mediocre. They tried to seat us down before cleaning the table. Eggs were overcooked and burnt and generally bland. My wife's toasts were completely burnt while mine was not even slightly toasted. I'm surprised they served burnt toast to customers. Really says a lot of how much they don't care. The fries were mushy and the $4 we paid on top for the cheese was scant at best. Only thing we liked was the latte. Kudos to the barista. Went here with a couple friends for a Saturday brunch. The menu has great variety, with quality ranging from meh to great. The wait was abnormally long but the waitstaff is one of the best. It was one of my protein heavy days, so I opted for the Funhouse Hangover Skillet with red potatoes, and a side of country fried steak. The skillet was actually very flavorful - everything was nicely diced and mixed together. Eggs were exactly as ordered, but the real surprise was the red potatoes. Usually those babies are either too big or undercooked, but these were just the right size and were tender all throughout. Meanwhile my chicken fried steak was as expected. The gravy was nice and peppery, and the steak was the mediocre size I expect from all brunch places here. Maybe one or both were premade, I don't know, but I was happy. My friend's Westcoast Skillet found similar applause with a great salsa. On the other hand, my friend's French Toast felt very sad, a bit soggy and bland. Our waiter was super personable - has to be in my Top 3 of all time with his great jokes and actually listening to us and conversing. The ordering with the iPad was pretty cool, and once the orders were in food came fast. But the wait between sitting down and getting our orders, plus the wait to ask for the check, were abnormally long - maybe over 10 minutes. When the restaurant's not even full, that's kinda not cool. This place has potential and character. I can see why it's stood the test of the time. While definitely not for everyone, Bajis' Cafe could be a regular breakfast stop for many. read more

The food and service is wonderful here. Came in with my 2 sons at 10am. One wanted breakfast the other lunch. They each were very happy. Ordered the #13 biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak and the Monterey chicken. Everything was good. They do not salt their potatoes but every condiment you could need is on the table. We thought we'd try this place again. First visit was great. 2nd visit not so much. We were greeted, seated and given menus. Ask about beverages and served. Then we're we're left alone. We waived down the waiter that was attending us and told him we were ready to order. He acknowledged us then proceeded to leave our area and went to take another tables order and make their coffee drinks. It's now been over 15 minutes. Had I not received my beverage we would have walked out. Ignoring your customers will soon bring down your business not to mention a bad review that goes to a lot of people. This is a fairly standard American style brunch. Cannot comment on dinner. On the plus side they were fast, great service, ample parking. I ordered a funhouse hangover, which was recommended by the staff. It is essentially a skiller dish with bacon, avocado, bell pepper, sausage and cheeses with two eggs and a side of toast. It was not bad and definitely filling. A little on the pricey side, the bill for my friend and I, who also ordered a skillet and no drinks for either, came to about $40 without tax and tip. Food and service was great! However, when I sat myself down I noticed a man sit in a section that wasn't opened with another woman and what I can only assume was his mother. I just thought to myself this guy must be special. It didn't seem like the staff was equipped and ready for him to seat himself during that busy morning. This man spent his entire breakfast disrespecting his own mother. It was utterly unacceptable. The lack of respect for the elderly was actually abhorrent. I decided to disregard this man's poor conduct and eat my meal with my family. Upon finishing his meal this man walks over to the (teenage) front of house staff and berates them for over 10 minutes. From what I gathered this man was upset that the table in the CLOSED SECTION wasn't ready for him. He went as far as to walk the poor busy children to the section to show them what they "missed." Maybe because he was yelling at his mother so loudly his whole breakfast he didn't notice these kids busting their butts going around the restaurant. After this man's completely unnecessary tirade I went over to console these clearly distraught teenage servers. I asked if that wonderful man owns this place or something. They sighed and said yes he's Baji himself. I was gearing up to tell them that they just have to be on it and that's the way it is. If he owns it then he owns it ya know? Come to find out that man is the EX owner and hasn't owned the place for years. I just moved to the area and I won't be taking my daughter to a place where a man is likely to come in and show her a horrific example of what it means to be a friendly neighbor. Found this place via the trusted Yelp app. I had some time before my customer visit and was hangry. They have a nice selection of items. I was torn between breakfast and a burger. Went with the bacon and eggs. I ordered hash browns and toast as well which came as part of the plate. I always order eggs over medium but have yet to find a place that can do it. They came over easy, but I'm okay with it. I also order bacon crispy but not burnt. They were close. All in all, nice relaxing place to have a meal. The server was great and attentive. The wife and I found this place a few years ago when looking for a breakfast place on the way to Comic Con is SF. So we would infrequently stop at Baji's when in the area. Well the first quarter of 2017, we were on our way north and decided to stop in once again. Funny, as we get older, our memory seems to fade away. I remembered large portions, great service and very good food. It would appear that one out of three aint bad. First. We stop in on a Sunday morning. Second. It wasn't busy. Went right in and got a table. Service has always been good to great. That hasn't changed. Server was polite (a bit of a kiss-ass) and right there when it counted. Coffee, water and tea were always well tended. The food delivered and plates cleared with ease. The food was disappointing. The wife ordered linguisa and scrambled eggs. If you look at the attached picture closely, you will notice that the linguisa was carefully cut into quarters to make it appear larger. In fact, it was just 1/3 of a Silva Sausage link. Very deceptive. A mediocre portion of has browns and scrambled eggs. The eggs were dry and hard. The hash browns luke warm. I ordered huevos rancheros. The plate was mostly beans, about 1/3 of the plate. A smattering of country potatoes and small portion of eggs. Although there was a lot of sauce, HAHAHAHAHA.
