Baked & Wired was my favorite spot as a Vegan. I'm not strictly vegan now but I'm still head over heels for their Vegan cookies and cream cupcake. I have fond memories standing in line with my brother and sister-in-law in Georgetown, chatting and listening to stories. The cupcake was the icing on the cake of being with family. Small shops have a way of doing that sometimes. I'm glad places like this exist and give character to D.C. It's really that special and us DMV locals know it. Such a cute local bakery in Georgetown! Came here since my friend visited this place five years ago and still remembers how delicious the cupcakes are. The cupcakes were indeed very good and moist. We got the red velvet, pistachio, and strawberry. My favorite was probably the pistachio since it had a cardamom frosting I enjoyed. They are on the larger side, and the frosting was a little too sweet for me, but still very delicious! I heard the hippie crack granola here is well known so I got two bags of it, although I wasn't expecting it to be $20 each, so hopefully it's good! The barista questioned that as she was making the order and they even refunded us because I definitely did not need an 8 shot latte. I had a raspberry lemon bar, which was really good. yum just yum. i had heard so much about this bakery in georgetown, so i was so excited to finally try it. as soon as you walk in, you're hit with an incredible display of cupcakes that all look absolutely perfect. it was hard to decide which ones to get because they had so many different flavor profiles and combinations, everything sounded so good. honestly, my favorite was the double chocolate. i usually go for chocolate desserts. it was really the frosting that stood out, with such a rich, ganache-like texture that was just incredible. these cupcakes were also great to share with a large group, which meant i was able to try a variety of flavors. i also really loved the carrot cake, the cream cheese frosting had the perfect bite and balance for me. the bakery itself is a bit small, so it might be hard to fit a party of more than five people, especially with limited seating. because of that, i picked up my cupcakes to go. there was no line when i arrived, so i was able to get my cupcakes right away. it's also connected to a coffee shop. i didn't get a chance to try the coffee, but that's definitely an option if you're interested. read more

My wife and I stopped here after seeing all the hype about the cupcakes on TikTok. We got 4 cupcakes to try: the double chocolate, German chocolate cake, strawberry and pistachio. They looked cute but I was not a fan at all and my wife only liked the strawberry. We ended up throwing them out after giving them a try. It's like choosing your favorite child but the carrot cake was my favorite. I appreciate they indicate the no raisins on the menu as this helped make my decision. My back was to you so I didn't even realize you were talking to me at first, especially since I was already 2/3rds of the way down the counter and was physically ordering when you kept saying it to me. I was speaking loudly already so the woman helping me could hear my order. I shouldn't have to shout my order. For the record...there were only 7 people behind me, 3 groups of people. If you really wanted the line to move, perhaps you should have helped the next group with their order so there were 2 people fulfilling orders and not just one. And when you told me to have a great day in a sarcastic, overly sugary, voice(as we were leaving)...that didn't help. Baked is wired is well known in the Nation's Capitol for having some of the best cupcakes in the city. To be honest with you, I'd have to agree. The line that comes out of the building and onto the street no matter what time of day you visit is proof of that. The few times I've had cupcakes here, I've been blown away! They make an amazing red velvet, and cookies and cream (I'd have to say those two are my favorites.) I've also had other delicious treats like their "Millionaire OMG Bar", "Soccer Mom Bar", and Rice Krispie treats. There's no other way to describe their baked goods other than delicious. I also appreciate that the workers are very effiencet in getting customers in and out. Be aware that there are two different lines; the "Baked" side with the long line for baked good, and the "Wired" side where you can order different caffeinated beverages, which from what I've seen, dosen't have a long line at all. Personally, their drinks are where they fall short for me. I've tried their teas and lattes and I just haven't been blown away by them. In my opinion, they're just not seet enough (even when I put in extra sweetner). So tbh, you'll only catch me on the "Baked" side to get some delicious sweet treats. read more

After trying so many flavors, each cake has a great crumb and is supremely moist. I really appreciate it. I decided to try the COCONUT cupcake since I've never eaten something like that before. However, the cake itself was vanilla and the frosting had some coconut flavor with coconut flakes. The frosting was way too sweet, so I didn't eat most of it. Overall, it was good, but I was half-hoping it would have a coconut-flavored cake base. There are lots of flavors to choose from, and I they are in glass domes so you can see what they look like before purchasing. I liked some of the unique names of cupcakes. I chose the lemon blueberry cupcake that was a seasonal option. I got the cupcake to eat there. There is not a lot of seating inside, but I sat on a cozy chair in the back. The cupcake was delicious. We got the cherry blossom and strawberry cupcakes. They were surprisingly not overly sweet and the cake part was crumbly and light. Neither cupcake tasted artificial and honestly the frosting was my favorite part about the cupcakes, which is never the case usually. Went here on a weekday and I think this is one of the best cupcakes I've ever had anywhere. Baked and wired was a 10 min walk from my hotel and I'm glad I made my way over here. The bakery is tucked away in a quieter part of Georgetown and it's a pretty large location. Half of the place has the bakery and the other part was for drinks. The servers are also really nice and gave me great recommendations. I got a strawberry cupcake the a rose lemonade and I wish I brought more friends with me to try different flavors because the strawberry one tasted really fresh. We actually got a cherry blossom cupcake from Georgetown Cupcake as well to taste test, and the Baked and Wired cupcake won by a landslide. A cupcake is $6.20, but they are big enough you can share.
