For a new shop, it's cute and has lots of options! I will say, the line is confusing. I waited in line, with the rest of the line, to pick up my online order. People were coming up and picking up their online orders, through the exit door. And I personally was there for an online pick up order myself. Hopefully this process will be improved, as standing outside in 30 degree weather, isn't ideal. I wasn't able to order the koloches online but since I waited in line anyways, added one to my order. Performing a few shifts at a Denver location for our company I was told about Wake and Bake. I was told that it was a must have experience before going back to Colorado Springs. The advice was correct. After my second, and thankfully my last shift in the area, I finally tried this establishment. The sausage and egg kolache, or for us northerners it is called a sandwich. I was confused, their menu board it was listed as a 'sandwich' but I was told it was a southern word and then I was confused further and had to check if I was still in Denver; however, the sandwich, or kolache was really good. Actually, it was great. Nice and large while tasting better than any fast food place. The croissant was nicely toasted, buttered, and egg/sausage was a great combo. I ordered the sandwich for me and a few donuts for myself and my oldest, the kid was stuck at home and sleeping at night while his father worked the night shift. After eating the sandwich, sorry kolache, and stuck in traffic I was still hungry after a 12 hour shift so I ate a donut. It was good. One of the better donuts I have eaten. Not light and fluffy like that chain which in everyone's area has you wait 10-20 minutes for a donut. Wake and Bake's donut is larger while being cheaper. I don't mind a heavier donut. Less donuts to fill me up. The donut was great. I have to admit one of the better ones I have eaten. For me, I have to say thanks for the boss for suggesting Wake and Bake. In the end it was a great suggestion and a great reward for me for the two nights of shiftwork in the area. I will visit Wake and Bake again on my own. I hope I never have to work those 12 hour shifts again...lol. If you are in the area I suggest trying this place. Off street parking and a driveway leading to a traffic light which will put you in the direction you need to go. Staff was friendly and helpful. Staying in an AirBnB just a two minute walk from here, which has proven to be dangerous. Have gone twice now and gotten a variety of items: -Donuts: the donut itself was pretty good, and large, however when you bit into it, you can see just how little filling there is. Pleasantly surprised that the old Winchells facelift meant that their quality increased as well. It's not hyperbole to say that it's the worst Boston Cream donut I've ever had. So, let's get the good out of the way, the food is pretty good! The croissant breakfast sandwiches we had were tasty, real egg and flaky croissant. The coffee was decent. The raised sugar donut was ok, a little too doughy.. maybe slightly undercooked, but the blueberry cake was tasty. Unfortunately, the place is unbearably hot in the summer. We were there at 10am when it was still less than 80degrees outside and it felt much warmer inside. They should invest in AC especially as a new business open in the summer in Denver. Secondly, the heat mixed with sweets seems to attract flies. They have a HUGE fly problem and it's disgusting. Flies are landing on donuts and they act like it does not mater. You should not be allowed to serve food that flies swarm and land on all day. This was gross. Hot and fly-filled is not how any business should be described, let alone a restaurant. It's harsh, but I'm not coming back and you shouldn't visit. read more

First time at Baked am' Denver, I was mainly looking for a quick bite to eat on my way between errands. I saw pictures of their donuts and was sold when I saw their sandwiches. The parking lot is a little tiny, especially considering by the time I ordered a 15 person line was formed outside the door. I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich, which you can put on a plain bagel, everything bagel, or on a croissant. I opted for an everything bagel, which was a little light on everything seasoning and not as toasted as I would have liked but it was still good with the egg and sausage. The real star of our meal was probably the donuts, they have three cases of donuts and it's hard to not stop yourself from ordering more walking from Case to case. I got the raised cherry with almonds, which may look like your typical donut with pink icing but it was anything from that. This place is awesome. It's started to become a Sunday tradition for my wife, daughter, and I, often on our way to the zoo. But also nice to get it delivered too. The nice part is their delivery prices actually match their in store prices, so all you're paying is any delivery fee and tip, but not artificially inflated prices. The donuts are awesome and have never disappointed us. We aren't huge on raised donuts, but their cake donuts are probably the best we've had in Denver. And they're consistent. OBSESSED. Our AirBNB was around the corner from Baked N Denver and we ate breakfast there. Every. Single. Day. I ate the best donut EVER in my 40 years of life there - the Cherry glazed raised donut with almonds. The Farmhouse Breakfast Sandwich was top notch - so much so that I've tried to recreate it at home. The Blackout coffee with pumpkin spice and almond milk made my morning each and every day of the stay. My husband and I have said "I miss Baked N Denver" almost every day since being back home in Illinois. Have come here twice now and definitely would recommend based on both of my experiences. The donuts you can tell are well made and not ridiculously priced for the quality of donut you're receiving. If I had to recommend one item on their menu, it would be their kolaches. Both the regular and jalapeño are awesome! It's so great to have another donut shop in Denver! It seemed like the Winchell's on Broadway transformed from Winchell's to Wake and Bake in just a matter of weeks. Wake and Bake is fresh and new with clean, modern branding, a nice storefront, and delicious donuts. We were able to try several, including red velvet (Ohmygosh tastes like the real thing), Boston cream pie (amazing), peanut butter and jelly (perfect for pb&j lovers), maple, crullers, and regular glazed. I was searching for a breakfast pastry place in the Denver area and found this cute little shop! Seems to be pretty new and very humble place. The staff was incredibly kind and so sweet! One of my favorite customer service experiences on this trip to CO! (I've actually realized that I've had pretty great customer service with most places I went to in CO which is very refreshing :-)) They had a great variety of classic donuts, but also some interesting items like blueberry fritters and strawberry cream cheese croissants. We left the place with 6 donuts, 4 croissants and two breakfast items - I had the sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel which the kind cashier recommended, and my boyfriend had the Denver breakfast wrap. Couldn't go wrong with the breakfast sandwich but the Denver wrap was to die for! They provided cholula sauce on the side which was an absolute game changer! The pastries were great, though it was a bit of a hit or miss. The one I enjoyed the most was the blueberry fritter! A great twist on the classic apple fritter and I loved it. I don't like to leave negative reviews but I feel this is warranted. I ordered an egg, cheese, bacon breakfast burrito through Door Dash and it was not made well. For six dollars I felt that the price was too high for a small burrito. If you've ever been to illegal Pete's, they offer a child size breakfast burrito with all the fixing for less than $6 and it's the same size as the burritos here. The burrito was very greasy and did not include ranchero sauce which was in the description. It literally only had egg, cheese, bacon and nothing else. Egg was rubbery, and I did not feel that great after. I'm sure their donuts are good, it looked very good however their breakfast burrito was not. I went to this location for the first time yesterday after seeing "kolaches" finally listed on their pickup menu. I have to say that I'm disappointed with myself for not making the visit sooner. We have been missing out for way too long!! The staff was friendly, the kitchen and food display was impeccable, and my order was immediately ready upon arrival. Parking is ample and thoroughly supports all aspects of business this tiny location is driving. We were just leaving the Red Rocks Amphitheatre after catching the sunrise and headed back into town and I really just wanted some coffee. First time in Denver so I just yelped coffee places and this was one of the few that were already open at 6:30 am on a Sunday. Super cute little shop with all of their treats nicely displayed. I never heard of a Kolache so I decided to try it. The hot link one is amazing. It was freshly baked so it was piping hot and delicious. Also got half a dozen donuts and they were some of the best I've had. The cinnamon crumb one was my favorite! The latte I got was also really good. The service was awesome.
