I had the country fried steak with 2 scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and pancakes. Everything was divine. Perfect portions. The hashbrowns were like fried potatoes...super yummy. The steak was covered with a delicious white gravy (not smothered). The eggs were cooked flat like a crepe, so they could be cooked through while maintaining their moisture. I've been making pancakes for decades; how do they do what they do? My wife had the French toast with bacon. She was also a member of the clean plate club. She had a double side of fresh strawberries. Everything was superb! I had coffee. It was delicious and I enjoyed refills. My lovely had hot tea with honey. They brought a tray with tea options. Our server, Nini, enthusiastically greeted us at the door. She was fantastic. Seriously, awesome! While just visiting, when we come back, we'll come back here in a minute. Highly recommend!

We were not disappointed :) Ruperts has a great set up of booth, bar, table, and patio seating. They have cute little witty sayings strewn about their walls, so those are fun to find and read. Prepare yourself for a little bit of a wait if you go for brunch on the weekend. This just means Ruperts is worth the wait. Check the bar seats though, as those are first come, first serve and they serve the entire menu there as well. We lucked out and two spots were open for us so we did not have to wait for a table. The bartender who was also our server was very nice and gave some excellent recommendations. Rupert's classic reuben was a great suggestion. Add sweet potato fries, and you'll be in heaven! We also could not pass up the cinnamon roll that was so elegantly advertised in front of us! When in Sloan's Lake, Ruperts will be my choice of restaurants. As with most brunch places, Ruperts opens early in the morning - at 7am and closes early at 2:30pm.

Omelette Asperges & Champignons - Couldn't pronounce any of the ingredients. Didn't bother to try. The first thing I noticed was the CRUNCH. Yes. We love a good crunch from the cured meats. They added a delicious, subtle saltiness and a pleasant layer of texture to the meal. The creaminess and bite of the asparagus also enhanced the texture profile. Flavor-wise? Light and pleasant. The balance between the tang and spice worked much better for me here than in Homegrown Hell. My BF said it had a kick, but I didn't notice. Maybe because my mouth was already on fire. --Sauce Leopard (The 13th Floor) - Apricot and toasted coconut. Very nice and light. I didn't really taste the coconut, but you could tell it had a fruity base. This was my favorite of the three. --Sauce Leopard (Homegrown Hell) - Sichuan tangerine. Much tangier than The 13th Floor, which explains the tangerine, but it wasn't nearly as refreshing. Not a crazy fan of this one. Overall, the textures were easily one of my favorite parts of the meal. Between the cured meats in the omelet, carrots and sprouts in the tuna melt, perfectly toasted sourdough, and ridiculously crunchy hash browns, they really nailed that sensory experience. But that Blueberry Cherry Lemon Jam? That was the winner for me. Any restaurant that sends me home contemplating a new jam-making hobby has clearly done something right.
