I called the restaurant to let them know, and my boyfriend was already on his way back to pick up the rest. What really impressed me was how incredibly apologetic and accommodating they were. Without me even asking, they offered to completely remake my entire order! I ended up leaving with almost triple what I originally ordered, which I was so grateful for. I'm definitely not someone who looks for free handouts, so I truly appreciated that they went above and beyond to make things right. They even included some of their desserts that I had been wanting to try, which was such a sweet surprise! Mistakes happen, but it's how a business handles them that really stands out. Their customer service was absolutely wonderful, and because of how they treated me, this restaurant will always be in my rotation. Great food AND amazing customer service -- you can't beat that!

We've been here before and we've had plenty of time to order our food (kabobs which says it takes 15 min). Today there must have been some big orders online or over the phone. My receipt says that my order was placed at 11:05 around 11:45 my coworker was tired of waiting and went to the counter, came back and said he canceled his order as his order still wasn't ready, we went up after and asked about our order and was told it was almost ready and we finally got our order at around 11:50. We had to ask for it to go as our lunch break was basically over. Had to rush back to work and didn't really get to enjoy our food as there was no time left. In the end, we should have asked for a refund also as my order was close to 30 by itself. I just really wish they told us there was going to be a delay in prepping the food. I'm sure they knew there was a back up and if they told us it was take closer to 30 min let alone the 45 it actually took. We would have been ok, lets go somewhere else, but at least they let us know. Not waste our time waiting there and not getting to enjoy the food. My coworker has already said, Zankou is out for lunch now after this fiasco. Love the food, wish it was a better experience this time.

They've also done a great job evolving with the times, offering plenty of clearly marked vegan options along with choices for other dietary needs, including gluten-free. Everything we ordered was excellent. The grape leaves were fantastic, the eggplant dishes were so flavorful, and the portions were very generous. The foul (bean dish) was delicious, and when we asked if they could add a little extra to it, they were happy to accommodate us. The service was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. And don't skip dessert--the baklava is some of the best we've ever had. I understand they've recently changed how they make it, and the result is outstanding. It's wonderful to see a restaurant that has stood the test of time while continuing to evolve. We can't wait to return and explore more of the menu.

Being so close to a zillion restaurants at my feet, my friend's "significant" said let's do some Mediterranean food tonight. I put my thumbs-up and it was unanimous: Sunnin Lebanese Cafe on Westwood Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd. it was. Well, I never heard of this place, but I said "let's Go"! When we pulled up to this strip mall entrance that was overflowing with human beings wanting a table at very happy this very we had a RESY. We ordered: * Hummus of course - which was delicious * Babaganouj - which was creamy and extremely dippicle [sic] * Beef Kafta Kebab - just lovely * Taboulah Salad - that was excellent * Fool or Ful depending on what Mideast country - was deepened with fava beans * Alamaza Lebanese beer that paired perfectly with our dinner. The staff here were friendly, helpful and accommodating. I've been gone from Los Angeles close to five years now, and every time I come back, I get a nice surprise like I did at Sunnin.

The steak is juicy like it knows rent is due and still came correct. Good char. Solid seasoning. Tender enough to keep you locked in. Not fancy-steakhouse dramatic. Just straight-up satisfying. The kind of meat that makes you nod after the first bite like yeah. They knew what they were doing. The chicken hits too. Moist. Flavorful. Not that sad dry chicken that has you reaching for water and forgiveness. This had real presence. Real grill flavor. Real "let me get another bite before anybody asks for some" energy. The kabobs are the stars though. Straight bangers. Smoky. Savory. Cooked with enough confidence to make the whole plate feel louder. This is not delicate food. This is food that walks in, daps everybody up, and takes over the conversation. The whole place feels like it knows its lane and stays in it. No fake luxury cosplay. No extra nonsense. It's clear they've put intentional effort into improving this week, as service was a highlight for us. Our waiter, Sunny, was so polite, quick, and communicative. He had a lot of tables to cover, as it was a packed and chaotic room during the Mexico vs. Ecuador game last night. The N17 burger and fries (both the regular shoe string fries and sweet potato fries) were fantastic! Both were cooked just right, very flavorful, and the fries were nice and crispy. The atmosphere and design of the restaurant in front isn't your typical "sports bar" - it feels more like a cute, sunny brunch restaurant with high-quality screens for sports viewing - but the clientele feels just like any other sports bar would :) It was very lively and fun to watch with others last night. For the World Cup, they've opened up their event space in the back which is not set up like a typical restaurant - but it was great for viewing! The screens are HUGE and very high-quality.
