We never had the opportunity to check on our appetizers or had the chance to order additional beers and cocktails. A different server did finally come to our table to check on us and he was very attentive. He removed the appetizers from the bill right away and brought us our check. The good food and drinks made the lack of service tolerable but from a business standpoint this establishment lost additional revenue from the lack of attention to detail when placing the order and failing to get additional alcoholic beverage orders. This also resulted in the minimum tip rather than the generous tipping I typically give good service. I would visit the Stone Corral again to see if this was a one-off experience.

Outdoor seating is also available when weather permits. Please note that due to its size, they have only one unisex bathroom available. We started with the Gouda Tot Clam Dip. The picture posted on their website shows six potato tots, yet our serving came with four. It was pleasant and tasty. For my main course, I ordered the Peach Glazed Pork. The dish had a nice presentation. I found the pork to be drier than I would have expected, but it was still edible. I guess I had higher expectations. Despite a few minor disappointments, this is a charming local restaurant that is worth a visit, especially if you're in the area.

Most of the menu items here are not like a gourmet Vermont experience. Instead, they are simply, darn flippin' good! Menu items here are simple and breezy. Get the baked potato with pulled pork, cheddar, bacon, chives and sour cream. If I made the same dish, as easy as it seems, it would definitely not turn out as delicious. With this glorious baked potato, there was a white, shredded cheese. I am not used to this at all because usually you usually get orange cheddar cheese on a potato, but this is Vermont. People new to the region - like me - notice simple touches like white cheddar cheese and it's little things like that that really make a difference in having an authentic New England experience. And now onto the Hebrew National Franks: they are on New England rolls. I didn't know what those were until I ordered them, but this makes a total difference. They are soft and heated and have a shiny, buttery finish. On their winter menu, I have also tried the Space Cake beer fried chicken sandwich. I thought it might be a sweet, fried, hot honey kind of chicken sammie, but I don't think that option is on their menu yet. The fried chicken coating was good. This Space Cake sandwich came with sweet potato waffle fries. Oh my goodness! Definitely get these. Get them as an appetizer. Take them home with you. Whatever. You need them. They're delicious. This was all on their winter menu. On their summer menu, I enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich with steakhouse fries. Thoroughly fabulous. We also enjoyed the butternut squash salad with fresh cranberries from their summer menu. The lettuce was so darn fresh. It really makes a difference in the flavors and the whole experience here. Now onto the beers: there are so many draughts to choose from! Aside from a suite of brewed-on-site Harpoon beers, you can also get at least 3 UFO hefeweizen brews and 3 Clown Shoes beers. The UFO wheat beers are a favorite here: I had White (orange and coriander), Maine Blueberry and Strawberry Lemonade Shandy The Clown Shoes beers seem popular here, but were too intense for me. The Vodka Whips - inspired by the beloved Maryland Orange Crush drinks - are good. I thought was ordering a Cardi B Whip Shot, so when I got it, I realized these two drinks are not the same. Vodka Whips vs. Whip Shots: who knew. Camp Wannamango by Harpoon is a not-to-miss. I also liked the Maple Bourbon Barrel-aged Mountain Ale. Not a fan of any of the IPA's anywhere, including here, unless they are doubles. The Harpoon Cider is tasty. The Dunkin' beers are fabulous branding and interesting. The fruit was the standard cantalope and melon but weren't really very flavor able. The sausage gravy was decent and had lots of sausage in it but the biscuits were small, cold, and hard. I'm not an omelette person usually but this one was kind of strange. Instead of small individual omelettes, they were large rolled or possibly folded eggs, with diced ham and melted cheddar then sliced in sections so it kind of resembled a Stromboli bread with eggs instead of bread and judging by by the consistency and texture, the eggs must be pre-mixed eggs in a carton. I was not a fan. The French toast sticks were ok. Nothing great but it the worst item on the Buffett. The one really good item on the buffet was the blueberry muffin. Which was packed full of large, real blueberries. I ate two of those. This time, I was finally able to get a draft and meander a little. First off, try to find Denise in the taproom. She's an OG with a pleasant demeanor and some real depth of beer knowledge. She got us started on the right foot. It was a perfect day and we sat outside and enjoyed the scenery. The beers were great, but I also knew what to order. The menu is extensive and complex. I enjoy their stouts and wild/farmhouse ales the most. The IPAs are good, but not their best stuff IMHO. And a good ipa can be found on just about any corner nowadays whereas a great farmhouse is a little harder to find. Are they a little pretentious? Maybe, but I didn't experience that during my visit. I found the staff helpful and friendly. It was later in the day on a Thursday so maybe that helped. All in all, HF was a nice place to spend a few hours in the remotes of VT having some quality farmhouse ales.
