The ambience is nice. The service is good. However the pancakes were practically raw, the French toast was doughy and the home fries were lukewarm. The eggs, bacon and sausage were good. I asked for the manager and she said she would take something off our check. We ended up paying $20 for eggs and bacon!! Plus we had to pay for the coffee so our bill was still $30 plus the tip. When I spoke to the manager, Penny, I gave her advice to apologize for the service not being up to par she said "well I'm not the cook". But YOU'RE THE MANAGER!!! We won't be going back. This place has gone downhill over the years and I wish someone cared.

Baker's Diner 11-7-24 Stopped in on Thursday at 1pm for lunch. This place was clean, neat, and not full. There were only a couple tables with customers in them. The interior was very nice and laid gave you the feel of an upscale dinner. I loved the showcase filled with all kinds of deserts near the front, so you don't forget them after you eat. Our waitress Nikki came over fast for our drink order, when she came back to deliver our drinks she took our food order. The menu is large, they have specials for each day of the week and daily Senior specials to boot. I believe there is something for everyone on that menu. We both ordered the Open Turkey Sandwich with 1 side and soup or salad. For my side I got mashed potatoes and a salad. My wife's sides were coleslaw and a salad. Nikki brought out our salads very quickly. The salads looked good, and all items looked fresh and tasted great. The salad was bigger than I thought, and it was very good. As soon as we were done with the salads our Turkey Sandwiches came out. They looked amazing, the Turkey, bread and gravy filled the entire plate. It was so good and so tasty. The Mashed potatoes were good, and they seemed to go well with Turkey. My wife loved her Turkey and the coleslaw. I have to say this was a very good dish. The only thing I would have liked is for the dish to be a little hotter. It was not cold but could have been hotter for that 5th star. I can't wait to go back and try something else. You need to go here as prices are reasonable, service is good, and the food is great. I give this place 4 stars out of 5. Nikki thanks for the great service and checking back many times to see if we needed anything. Follow me on FB for more reviews. Gulf Coast Terry

We've driven by on the way here and there for years and finally stopped. I was pleased with the diner decor and something for everyone menu. The service was efficient if not a little chilly.

What has happened to this diner?!? Always stop here commuting from Allentown, PA to Washington DC and order turkey club sandwiches to go. Used to be the best club sandwich around but the triple deckers from the last 2 stops have been terrible. Hardly any turkey in a $13 sandwich! And the past visit did not have much lettuce in the sandwiches either, just a few small pieces in each. Absolutely a rip off for the price. Hoped the previous visit was a one-off but now have received sandwiches of the same poor quality two times in a row this spring. Please save your money and go elsewhere, or at least forgo the turkey club sandwich for the price!

Chicken fried steak with sausage gravy? and burnt wheat toast.

Server was nice and diner was clean. Was looking for quality breakfast. Ordered the chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs and wheat toast. The chicken fried steak came with sausage gravy on it. Not really a good combo. As sausage gravy has a very unique taste and so does not pair with chicken fried steak. The pieces of toast were small and burnt . Home fries were barely cooked. Just seems to be another place that in this post Covid era, the quality of food has gone down and prices have gone up.

A quintessential stop every time my dad and I head to Harrisburg for the annual Outdoor Show. The food and service have never failed us, and definitely will help wake up even the drowsiest traveler. Only problem being that everyone else seems to feel the same! This place is always packed, so be warned!

I was there last Saturday afternoon after the lunch crowd was gone heading back from Rochester. I topped off the gas tank and was hungry. So I park and head inside. It's not a big place. Several tables on one side and the bar on the other. I grab a seat on the end at the bar. The waitress comes over and I order a cup of coffee and look at the menu she provided. I'm pretty hungry not eating anything that day so far. I decide on the breakfast special ( 2 eggs any style and home fries). I add toast and bacon. Eggs over medium. The coffee is pretty good. I'm looking at traffic patterns in my phone, checking out the weather. Food arrives pretty quick and the plate is covered. Toast is fresh, home fries and good, bacon crispy and eggs cooked to order. The coffee gets refilled and I'm enjoying every bite. I like the old school diner vibe with the fresh coffee and diner style foods. I am finished and quite full with an excellent meal. I get the check and it's pretty cheap. She gets a good tip, I'm done with the coffee and out the door. I have been going past for maybe 20 years and stopped now twice. I think it will be a regular stop on my way to Rochester back and forth granted they're open. I think they're closing for a few weeks in August, just be aware. If you like the diner vibe and a good meal that won't break the bank, it's worth a visit. Yeah...where is Dillsburg? Rt 15 N/S in Pennsylvania. Google maps is a help.

Now, years later, my wife and I would pass by the new 81 diner and would always say we needed to try it. We'll, today was the day. We stopped in for lunch, and aside from a gentleman waiting for his to-go order, we were known as the customers. I guess not a lot of people eat at 3 in the afternoon. The atmosphere was very nice. The tables, chairs and booths all fit the diner nicely. My cheesesteak sub was very tasty. Their menu said no substitutions, but they let me withhold the lettuce, tomatoes and onions, which I'm not fond of, so I'm glad they let me do that. Along that note, my wife ordered the BLT sandwich, and gave me some of the bacon, which was really good! Our friend George ordered the pizza burger, which also looked good, and he seemed to enjoy it. Their fresh cut fries were fantastic as well. If I had anything to complain about, it would be that the music being piped in was too modern for a classic diner atmosphere and wasn't something we were expecting. Hopefully that's something they will eventually change. Maybe next time we will stay long enough to try some of their desserts, which looked pretty good too. We will definitely be back soon.

We both went with the dinner specials, which were only 14.99 each and came with two sides. I ordered the ribs and my husband got the NY strip with butterfly shrimp. For the price, the portions were honestly huge. My ribs were fall off the bone tender and coated in a tangy BBQ sauce that had just the right balance of sweet and smoky. Easily one of the better diner style rib plates I have had. The fries were natural cut, perfectly seasoned, and had that ideal texture where they are pillowy inside with a light crisp on the outside. The succotash was simple but still good and comforting. My husband's steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and had great flavor throughout. The butterfly shrimp were crispy and paired really well with the steak. His side salad was super fresh with iceberg lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion, and shredded cheddar. I did not even get a photo of it because he immediately dug in and loved it. The service really stood out too. Everyone was so attentive and quick to help with anything we needed like extra napkins or more sauce. It felt very welcoming and genuinely cared for. The interior has that true hometown diner feel where it seems like everyone knows each other. It is mostly booths with some tables and even a classic counter with stools, which gives it that nostalgic diner vibe. With both meals and drinks, our total was under $40, which feels rare lately for portions and quality like this. This is one of those spots where you leave full, happy, and feeling like you got an actual deal. Definitely worth stopping in if you are in the area.
