Alfonzo was no help at all, he didn't give us all the information for us to apply for a motorcycle, he didn't get back with me the next day I had to go in and meet him there, when I got there I felt like he didn't want to sell me the bike, it felt like he was discriminating us, also he didn't even know who I was even tho he has seen me before so when I got there he looked surprised he definitely looked like he didn't want to give me anything and he also looked scared, there was set backs after setbacks, i had the same social as my co sign and he said his wasn't valid even tho we both have the work authorization (DACA) so how did I get approved and he didn't ? I was very impressed with the way I was treated by the entire Service Department and, specifically, their service writer, Toby. They went above and beyond for me, as a traveler, and got my bike fixed on a Friday afternoon near closing time to get me back on the road. Then about 20 miles later my bike had a completely different issue (blown rear tire) and Bakersfield Harley stepped up again the very next morning and came and towed me back, at no charge. The tire was so bad the bike wouldn't roll and we had to use a hydraulic jack to get it in the shop - these guys got it done! They got my rear tire replaced and me back on the road super quick. Went down in July 2019, they've had my bike since. It's now January 2020 and I got a pic of my bike on the floor torn apart captioned "still moving forward". Aside from the Harley factory located on Titan, the moon of Saturn backorder of parts. They miscalculated the repair estimate 5 times and forgot to order parts multiple times. Apparently the bike moving on floor jacks counts as moving forward. 6 months and only 28 hours of labor for repairs with a designated technician, safe to say they're worse than CalTrans. Wish I could do 0 stars! They had my bike for over 2 MONTHS to do simple tasks that was said to take 2-3 days. Now I understand parts can take a minute to come in. But how are you going to say you ordered it-have the part then 2 weeks later your telling me it just got ordered!? They put my part on another bike. Won't admit it, but that's what makes sense. Mechanics are always quitting or out. I had to keep going back myself to get a status update because no one would call me to provide updates. They were not only helpful, which I'd expect from any business, but loaded with talented gentlemen who seemed to work amazingly well as a team. I had a really disappointing experience here. I went in the other day looking for saddle bag options, seat options, and also anything cool around... if you own a Harley.. you already know how it is. Anyways, I rode to Harley Davidson... on a Harley Davidson (Dyna). Parked that Harley right out front... walked in carrying a helmet... and wasn't even greeted when I walked in. I'm a younger guy so I could understand if I rolled up in a FIAT or something how a salesman would avoid the "I'm just looking" guy but I came here already on a motorcycle. This would seem like a good opportunity to me as a salesman to get a trade-in on a new motorcycle but hey.. what do I know. I proceeded to walk around the show room - which I will say was impressive and had a lot of beautiful bikes. There were at least 50 brand new bikes in here. I was in the store for maybe 20 minutes looking at bikes and accessories before a man asked if I needed help. He was older with a drivers cap on backwards, sporting a ponytail in the NE side of the facility over by Engine Mods I believe. This guy was pretty friendly and asked what I was looking for, I explained what I was seeking and he directed me towards Thomas at the parts counter. I then walked over to the parts counter and this guy Thomas just stared at me as I walked up. No "Hello" or anything at all, just a blank face followed by a huge yawn. I asked Thomas if he had cool old school leather bags and what types of mounting options were available for them. Thomas yawned in my face and said they didn't really have any leather bag options at the store. He walked to the back and brought out a leather swing arm bag... which was super cool! except it was brown and I wanted a black one. I asked Thomas how this swing arm bag mounted and he responded with "well it comes with straps... how else would you mount it?". I got irritated and asked if it required removal of the passenger pegs and if there was a mounting bracket to keep it rigid. He said no to both. I proceeded to open the bag and guess what I found.... A MOUNTING BRACKET! Wow... that's funny? Thomas then looked at the Harley catalog and said "oh yea, this requires removal of the passenger peg". I wasn't even interested in bags at this point because this guy had no clue what he was talking about and I'm not super familiar with how to mount saddle bags solo or paired. I then brought up the option of purchasing a new seat, something that gave me more room away from the tank. I'm about 6'5" and already have forward controls but I am still cramped. Thomas pulled out a catalog and turned to the page where there were seats. I started looking through and asking for suggestions on seats and he had zero idea on what would be a good option. I asked him what type of seat he used (because he looked to be as tall as I am) and his response was "I'm currently not riding." so I asked him what seat he used when he did ride and his response was "I've never owned a motorcycle". I understand that not everyone at Harley Davidson has to ride motorcycles in order to sell their stuff but as a manager, I'd never put a guy who doesn't ride... in the parts department?? That makes no sense at all. How is a guy who's never felt these products or been out on the road, supposed to suggest them? At least get this guy a rental and let him really try what he's selling. I asked him what the return process was if I ordered a seat and I didn't end up liking the way they looked or felt, I even said I'd bring the bike to the dealership and not ride off with it if I didn't like the way it felt. He said it could be returned but there was a %15 restocking fee... You've got to be kidding me?? How does that make any sense?? That means that if I buy a $400 seat I have to pay a $60 restocking charge to put it in a plastic bag and then into a cardboard box? That is ridiculous. I came prepared to spend money here and left without the things I wanted, without decent service, and most likely never to return here. I was very disappointed with the way they'd treat a customer... especially someone that was already a Harley Davidson rider. read more

If I had a provision to give more than five stars, I would have given them in a heart beat. Bought my fat boy 2020 114 silver berracuda BLK denim from them. I live in Newark CA. I called in the dealership, spoke with Scott. He was super helpful. We were on the phone for 20 mins and surprisingly I found out later that he was the owner of the store. He asked Adolfo Alaniz in sales to help me out. Adolfo was just exceptional great. Very very helpful. He made the numbers work. I drove to the dealership. Had a warm welcome, got my bike and the bike got delivered to my house by Adolfo. I would recommend this dealership to all the bike lovers out their. I have bought two Harley motorcycles here, one used and one new. In both transactions, things went smoothly, the process was clearly explained, and I rode home very happy. Thanks to Mark, Adolfo and Scott for their friendly and professional assistance. Service is good at their job, although sometimes there is a long lead time to get an appointment. I have been in once with an immediate problem and was able to get the work done that day. Parts and MotorClothes offer both in-stock and special orders. Prices in these departments, like all HD dealers, are on the high side but the items are high quality too. If you are patient and don't need something immediately, wait for one of the sales events that offer good discounts. In clothing, be sure to check out the clearance rack; there are some genuine bargains there, and usually a good amount of larger sizes. All in all, I very much appreciate doing business with BHD and consider myself part of an extended family. read more

You know for the past 30 years, I have heard from those who like and those who dislike BHD, "To each their own". There are restaurants as well that we will agree to disagree on as well. My question is: why blame the cook if the waitress is no good ? My experience with BHD has always been excellent. Have there been issues with the staff? Sometimes, but I guarantee you the Leadership of BHD will quickly resolve any issues, If one informs them. I scheduled an appt to have my bike checked out because it was making a clicking noise when it would start. I walked the service advisor Jose to my bike and showed him what it was doing. My appt was for 12:00 and I dropped my bike off at 10:30 so it was there and ready to go. I had to call at 3:30 just to get an update, and they were barely pulling my bike in to look at it. Got a call at 4:45 stating they changed the battery and the bike would be ready in the morning. Next day at 10:45am, I called Jose again to see what's going on. He stated the battery didn't fix the issue and they were gonna "check some fuses" and let me know. 4:30pm rolls around and I have to call back because they never call and update, only to find out they didn't look at my bike, the tech went home early, and they have to "reschedule my bike for another time." I was told " We have a schedule to keep and the tech started on a new bike."WTF!?!?!? I went and picked up my bike and had to argue w/ Jose, Ray & Don the manager. They tried to tell me they fixed the starting issue and now there's a new issue. I told them there was never a starting issue and I brought it in for the clicking issue, and now I'm out $277 for a bike that isn't fixed. This is completely piss poor management and service for them to not fix a bike and just move on to the next, and never calling the customers for updates. If I hadn't called for updates, my bike woulda sat there all weekend while they were closed. I wish I would've listened to everyone who told me to trailer my bike to Visalia or Santa Maria for repairs because of bad experiences they encountered. They really lived up to their reputation of shitty customer service. But hey, it's ok right? If I could give negative stars, I would. read more

Came in on my lunch to buy a battery for my bike. Stood at the parts counter for 20 minutes. The one counter person was helping a customer who was placing an order which was great. It would have been nice if the guy behind the counter at least acknowledged me, I don't know say something like "hello", "be with you as soon as possible" nope nothing like that. The only reason they get a star is because they have motorcycles. The girls in motor clothes are junk. They don't offer discounts to hog members or vets. The service counter is better than it used to be but don't waste your time with the old man on Sundays. I did have good luck with the service department once, but I know several people who have purchased bikes here and they are regularly disappointed. I drove to Quaid in Loma Linda to buy my FLHTK in 2012 and they made it worth my while. Plus, got to take a nice break in ride through the desert on the way home. read more

Bought a 2015 roadglide in July, had a full tour pak build and install included in purchase price. The tour pak was assembled in august when they kept my bike for two weeks which seemed like a long time to someone who rides daily. I was down with a injury from August until oct (Harley was garaged) and in November when I started riding found that my left rear speaker kept falling out. Tour pak is under warranty as well as bike and dumb ass me bought the extended warranty too. I took it to shop only to be told they didn't have the screws or rubber-dowel retainers but I could order them, they proceeded to charge me for the replacements and I found the holes in the speaker pod seem to big for the retainers even when expanded. I am using a bungy cord to hold the speakers in until I can get to Kevin Thomas at adventure power sports to fix the pak. They also charged me for a quick disconnect amp but guess what ? It doesn't quick disconnect but the screws holding the attach points to the frame did cause they too have fallen out, now I am trying to figure out how to get my money back for the extended warranty, it's a shame cause I really like their parts desk guys and they are a big help and just great guys but their mechanic shop is the worst I have been to. Save your cheddar if you need any work done there are better garages doing great work in Bako for way less and have you riding way faster than here read more

I only go to the Bakersfield Harley Dealership when I am in a pinch. They have proved time and time again to not know the meaning of customer service in the parts and service departments. The girls in the clothing area have been very nice and helpful but that is only a very small part of why I would go there. I need and want parts for my Harley. Thank God for other motorcycle shops in town, online, and in surrounding areas. I find very little use for the Bakersfield Harley Dealership, they fall pitifully short when it comes to customer service. Maybe it is because I am female and they feel I have no business in the parts and service departments, oh well their loss. One example of my customer service experience. This weekend I purchased the 3 gaskets I needed for my front Rocker cover assembly (I have the service book for my bike) I asked them if they knew what the torque was on the bolts for reassemblely. Parts couldn't tell me and sent me to service. I went to service and asked. The response I got from service was they didn't share that information with customers. They had paid 30k to go to school to learn that, if they told me they would be liable (as I am sure I am too stupid to be able to do that properly) and the rest of the stuff I didn't hear as I walked out. I went home opened my book (I only wanted to double check and confirm with them as I do with Chevy or Ford when purchasing parts from them) for a 2008 XLC 883 Sportster the torque is 22 lbs as listed in the book I bought from HARLEY! Yeah information I paid $60.00 for and the manufacturer doesn't feel they would be liable to give spec's to the customer.
