Thank you Ethan for setting up my Senna Headset! I've got a SHOEI RF1200 that has the new Senna headset installed in it. I couldn't figure out how to get the drivers in the pockets of the helmet so I just rode around with the on my helmets ear pads. The setup was functional but not comfortable at all. Ethan set the helmet up on the counter and showed me a little trick.. BOOM drivers were positioned perfectly in my helmet. I was so thankful for that!! I have a 2005 Yamaha FJR 1300. This is the second valve stem failure I've had after they installed a front tire for me. The first one was at 70 mph on the 58 and the tire instantly went flat and I was hanging on for dear life. The last failure was during filling. I thought the first failure was just an anomaly (I guess not), I will never have them mount another tire for me. read more

800th review and First! Story time! First off, Nathan was a life saver. We left Orange County on a 5 day, 1,000 mile ride, heading for Fresno, but my boyfriend was experiencing a pressure point with his new helmet (Shoei X-12 Medium). We had to stop and figure something out. We were already 170 miles from home, so our only choice was the find a motorcycle shop nearby and cross our fingers that we could find something that would fit. While pulled over at the Shell station, we found this Cycle Gear only 5 miles away. I called and Nathan answered the phone. He answered all my questions and came across as very kind, patient, and honest. We left the Shell and found our way in. Nathan gave us his full attention and helped us as much as he could to find a helmet that would fit, including letting us try multiple helmets on and leave then on while walking around store, waiting to see if a pressure point formed. Now, our bikes were already fully loaded for our ride, so carrying a helmet was out of the question. Nathan said the they could put the old helmet in the new box and ship it home for us. REALLY?!?!?! Wow. The customer service here was nothing like what we get in OC and I hope some day, Nathan gets promoted and transferred to OC and becomes the regional manger of customer relationships. haha. He needs to train staff of CGs down here on how to greet and treat customers. The store itself is kept fairly clean and organized. Inventory looked good and other employees were very attentive to other customers in the shop. Never see this in OC. Times I've been here they've been attentive and really helped me out. I bought some gloves in the Santa Clarita location and they fit me way too big (xxl). I went into this Bakersfield store and told em abt the issue. I didn't have the receipt or original packaging so she had to call the other store and dig thru the purchases that were mDe 2 months prior. They found the transaction info and exchanged the gloves for a smaller size. Gloves were 149.99 btw. Im happy with them Highly recommend, great customer service. read more

I was 4900 miles into a an 18 day moto road trip and my rear tire was just about to start showing cords. Not only was I going to have to cut my trip short, but I wasn't sure how I was going to make it home. Fortunately, I called Cycle Gear Bakersfield and they had my size tire in stock! I would like to thank Michael and Josh for their wonderful customer service. They quickly mounted and balanced my new tire, shared tips on great roads to ride in the area, and gave me some water (it was hot out!). I was back on the road in no time. This store is a mess. Glove rack was a unmitigated disaster. No changing rooms to try on cycle pants. Merchandise stacked everywhere on the floor. The Cyclegear in San Luis Obispo is the ideal that the Bako store should strive for. This location needs new management and a larger space for all of the stock making the store look piled and misplaced. read more

This place has a lot of stuff for bikes. Store was clean. I went in to look at some oil. There was two customers inside the store and I made three. There was three employees behind the counter. Two of them were helping customers. The third guy was doin paperwork. No one greeted me when I walked in. I was back in the oil section looking at oil when an employee walked past me. He looked at me and went to the back room. After about 15 minutes of no one speaking to me I walked out past the other two employees. They didn't even say anything when I left. If you want a quick turnover on getting tires replaced do not go here. They are decent for retail but they need to leave changing tires to R tillery. They are a joke when it takes them 24hr to replace one freaking tire. read more
